Quite extraordinary rant. In response to the 'GetTheLOut' protest at LondonPride.

Children's Convenor. I kid you not.

Carter he resigned without apologising and is blaming it on 'threats to his life' as the only 'out' trans Councillor there.

BBC didn't bother reporting the original anti-woman scandal, an elected official calling lesbians 'cunts'. But this 'victimhood' is worthy of BBC attention. What stupendous hypocrisy

A certain Labour women’s Officer is saying it’s all so terribly hard being trans and linking to a BBC report on his resignation. Attention to detail not a strong point

Maybe this useless waste of space could actually do the job of WOMEN'S officer and stand up for women against odious men like Murray who take a great deal of pleasure in hurting women. But no...it's all about the trans!🤬

Current thread discussing that Murray's resignation was due to 'threats to life.

Links to BBC article: 'Trans councillor leaves roles after 'threats to life'
(extract)
"In a statement on social media, Dundee councillor Gregor Murray said mental wellbeing, personal issues and online abuse were behind the decision.

The SNP councillor also said they had received threats to their life." (continues)

OP Bespin comment:
"I'm not one for posting threads on here but I feel this is quite a sad position for this person and shows how hard it is to maintain a professional stance on this when you are receiving threats and abuse at the levels that are currently happening on the Internet, in no way am I saying this is gender critical people. But this debate as now got to such a level that it is starting to cost people there livelihoods on both sides of this so called debate."

He should have been fired -, not just allowed to resign

It will be interesting to hear the response from Dundee City Councillors following today's reporting in national press.

I'm sure there will be comments and perhaps actions.

He is also a director of the Dundee Science Centre.

Bearing in mind he thinks girls are cunts, should this person really be a director of a science centre?

Cartertheunstoppablesexmachine · 11/08/2018 11:45

And given their understanding of male and female biology, not exactly a wise choice to represent a scientific organisation.

Jeez, this just gets more Shock by the minute.

Weird how these people, with issues, seem to gravitate to the ones where they have some influence on/access to children.

Just very very odd that.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 11/08/2018 11:48

I can imagine their lesson plans.

'Start the session with a jolly welcome along the lines of 'Hello children. Those of you with vaginas are cunts, please leave as you are not worth educating. Now for the big brave boys, lets talk science, Dundee style'.

Charlie I don't think councillors can be sacked because they're elected. They can be taken off committees and they can be expelled by their party but once elected they can usually cling onto their seat. Except maybe in cases of bankruptcy or criminal convictions, although they'd usually resign first.

How do these angry people born with penises (trying to avoid a strike for calling a cock a cock) get access to children and education so easily?

The culture of fear over speaking out and being branded transphobic is why. It prevents huge, powerful organisations from protecting women and children and therefore complicit in the lowering/removal of safeguarding.

He’s resigned from committee duties, not as a councillor.
