Do you disagree with the definition of 'woman' as 'adult human female'?

Is there even a definition? Or is 'woman' simply indefinable in your view?

On the 'A Woman is an Adult Human Female' thread I asked those who disagree to provide their alternative definition of the word.

Several people engaged, but nobody seemed able to do this.

Dragoncake if you are serious about this then I will get behind dismantling the binary system as it will be of benifit to us all. if you wish to remain with a binary system an wish to exclude people with no viable. options then you will never get agreement with poeple. if you can define how we do this in. maybe the next 5 to 10 years as nothing will happen over night then I would love to know what it would look like. again if this is ending in only exclusion then it's jot going to work like a America. bathroom bills which have not worked

Making women invisible, impossible to name or identify doesn't actually make us or our problems go away.

What people need to do is make new names and spaces for themselves if they don't like the ones we use, not take ours away.

Dismantling gender binaries is on all of our shoulders and many of us are actively working on it. But the first thing to do is to accept the falsehood of the boy brain girl brain belief. Are you with us Bespin?

bespin, I don't know if you've noticed, but women have been overtly challenging the system for many decades now.
I don't understand why you think that women have oodles of spare capacity to accommodate the particular wishes of the trans community when we haven't been able to make a fat lot of headway for ourselves, and what has been achieved is now under threat?
I really sense you trying your best to engage here, but you persistently come off like you're hearing our problem, and then immediately pulling into "Yes, but, you need to do all this extra labour for us before we can meet in the middle".

FloralBunting I don't know if. you notice but we have also been trying to do this for decades as well we are 0.2% of the population if you only. include trans woman which is your focus I think we might need a little help. with this one. I know. we secretly. run the world but we are busy controlling the Internet and stuff. but seriously we. have no real power only. what people give us and that is mostly so that they can look inclusive not because they really want to promote our rights look at how the media flits back and forth on us

Yeah, I get it. Transsexuals have had a tough time of it. The gender binary is the enemy. I've fought against the machine for as long as I can remember in different ways.
I'm not sure how long you've been reading FWR, but I've yet to read a post from a GC person extolling the innate wonder of gender as a concept.
I have, however, read lots and lots and lots of waffly gubbins about the innate wonder of gender from TRAs.
I don't give a crap. Sex is what is relevant/important/vital to this controversy, and the persistent obfuscation of that clarity into nebulous bollocks about gender (which TRAs don't seem to want to abolish or dismantle at all, it underpins all their kooky definitions) is at the heart of every single one of these arguments.

Bespin, I would be absolutely delighted to stand with transwoman wherever possible. There is some common ground WRT negative experiences of rigid sex stereotypes.

What I can't do is support transwomen by accepting literally any male who says so into women's spaces in order to protect a tiny number of undoubtedly vulnerable dysphoric transsexuals. This would put far more vulnerable women at risk than protect vulnerable transwomen. So it is currently my line in the sand.

Trust and the courtesy system has been squandered by wider transactivism in recent years. My line in the sand has only recently excluded transwomen.

This is why language is so important. How do we describe vulnerable groups and identify who belongs to them if we don't have precise language? How do you separate out dysphoric trans people from those who are not actually trans? How do you make sure that women and girls are adequately protected if you can't describe them?

There are 2 groups of people. There are the ones who must have their every demand met, no matter what it is, and for whom any dissent is literal violence. Then there's the other group, whose entire purpose is to fulfil these whims no matter what they are because it can't be real violence etc etc etc, and to always be nice. Maybe it's not 2 lots of people then. Maybe it's people and non-people instead.
