Two strikes and a name change

WTAF is going on here?

Last night I posted a post, once it posted I was locked out of my account. No amount of trying could get me back in and two emails to MN unanswered.

So, am I suspended, banned, a glich? I don't know.

As you can see I've only added a 2 to my name so not hiding or tryng to deceive if I have been suspended or banned. Not trying to circumnavigate the rule, just trying to find out WTAF is going on around here.

I can't get into my account either. I haven't been able to for a week, and have had no response to questions about it apart from reassurance that I'm not banned or suspended.

I don't think I've had any emails either, but I'm beginning to wonder whether there is something wrong with my email account too (I have a dedicated mn email account after Jeffrey).

The reassurance was on a thread, by the way, I haven't had an email at all.

I've had to set up a new email address too. It's a pain in the rear.

I was trying to find out if I had any posts deleted, but because of the new system of not being able to AS the words "message deleted by MNHQ" it's impossible to know.

But I don't think I have (surprisingly really).

I have (yet another) new email address too. I'm considering setting up a couple of dozen more, with interesting names attached, just to see at what point someone notices.

After all, it seems that newbie posters with multiple accounts and, erm, unusual names and views are positively encouraged on MN FWR these days.

Mary, things have changed and all since the new guidelines. I don't know why and I don't think we know all the changes yet. It's odd.

They don't monitor the email they send the "you're banned" notices from.

I only got a response when I emailed the bog standard "contact us" email address with all my details.

It's quite deceptive really, they told me to respond promising I'd be good, but didn't give me a valid address to grovel to.

I refuse to post in a name not known to me. I don't want to pretend to be someone I'm not. I agree MN have me thinking things I've never thought before and that's sad.

Yep, I'm hiding in plain sight as well - I mean if anyone thinks I'm namechanging to troll or to avoid a ban, I think I might manage a name slightly less outing than this one

I hate this account too, because it doesn't have the 1000 post limit on threads, so I keep having to load multiple pages and I also keep forgetting and so post having only read half a thread which is infuriating.

Yep, I've lost everything from my old account including DM's. It's crap.

I don't think they tell you when they suspend you, I can't remember. I've definitely found out about being suspended through failing to log in.

I definitely haven't been suspended - that's been confirmed more than once. My account just seems to have disappeared.

You get three strikes then a warning next time you're out. I have two strikes and no warning about being out, so no, I don't think I have been banned. No doubt this thread and me have been reported on masse, I'm still here.

When I was suspended I couldn't log in for around a day before I finally got an email. That was for my second suspension which lasted s week!

Moral of the story...don't post when drunk, kids!👍

I didn't post anything against the new guidelines last night (I don't think). So who knows. If I am suspended I will close this account, never use it again and wait out the suspension. All I am asking is to be told.
