Guess how I got suspended from the Labour Party?

IAmDavidLewis · 22/05/2018 23:17

Well, one of the weirdest days in my life concluded with me receiving a letter informing me of my immediate suspension from the Labour Party. They believe I may have breached the rules by subverting the intention of All Women Shortlists, Women’s Officers or minimum quotas for women. Unfortunately, this does mean that my political ambitions are on hold for a while. I shall of course be continuing to self-identify as a woman every Wednesday, as that is my gender identity...

I have to say a huge thanks to @namechangeah for all her help, guidance and, more importantly, proof-reading! I wouldn’t have gotten to this point without it. I’d also like to thank everyone for their support today. I hope this has helped a bit.

And the Telegraph called me an “activist”! Achievement unlocked Grin

David: did you actually tell the party you identified as a woman on Wednesdays? For real? And they accepted this?

parklives · 23/05/2018 00:57

Thank you from me David

ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2018 00:59

Am I really the first one to click on the tits?
No; I was thinking they'd probably be great, so was a bit surprised to see crested, most unusual.

Mamaryllis · 23/05/2018 01:04

Anyhoo. More kudos for showing this farce up and for having women’s best interests at heart while doing so.
And regarding Pippa Bunce - if she’s woman enough to be given an FT women’s award, then just the one day a week isn’t a problem, is it? Or does she have to hand it back over for the days she turns up in a suit?
I saw LM rallying the troops hours ago, so no surprise where the whining and banhammer came from. Probably jealous that David had done more for women even prior to election than Lily has ever done.
Reminds me a bit of Dafydd from Little Britain.

The local wildlife that goes aarf aarf

LaSqrrl · 23/05/2018 01:07

I hope they have a clear definition of “vexatious claim” (unlike “woman”)...

It will certainly be interesting to hear.
Good work! Wine

LizzieSiddal · 23/05/2018 01:12

I clicked in the lovely tits too Grin Wondrous colours!

Thank you David. It’s wednesday now so I hope you’re tucked up in bed getting your beauty sleep.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2018 01:13

I expect David is off getting his beauty sleep ready to be a woman when he wakes (I think he prefers to stick with 'he', showing true womanly consideration and not making life difficult for other people by swapping to suit his gender du jour)

CrustyCob · 23/05/2018 01:14

David, who does the highlights in your beard?
I'm thinking of getting mine done.

Yspadadden · 23/05/2018 01:19

So what will our campaign in response look like? How about we petition the Labour Party to either re-instate David immediately or similarly suspend everyone else who says they're a woman and is not convincing?

ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2018 01:21

How about we petition the Labour Party to either re-instate David immediately or similarly suspend everyone else who says they're a woman and is not convincing?

And whose claims women find very vexatious...

pombear · 23/05/2018 01:22

If anyone is more articulate than me and more awake than me - Darren on lbc is talking about David's stance and asking whether it's a serious point or not. Too late for me as need my sleep but if anyone's up....

Pratchet · 23/05/2018 01:27

Mama you're right! The only trans in the village

AngryAttackKittens · 23/05/2018 01:37

Labour Party - How could anyone ever guess that if we made it easy for people to take the piss then they would? Who could have predicted this turn of events?

Also Labour Party - We're totes credible, us. Nothing silly about our policies.

Ereshkigal · 23/05/2018 01:47

Little Owen Jones has got a fucking cheek! "There's always been a certain type of man who use their power and privilege to undermine and attack the rights of women and minorities. David Lewis trolled trans people, one of our most attacked minorities. The commentators who cheered him on are a disgrace."

No, he was standing against men who use power and privilege to undermine and attack the rights of women. DARVO. We see you, misogynist.

OlennasWimple · 23/05/2018 01:53

Oh the irony that Labour have just confirmed that self-Ided transwomen can stand on AWS / as women's officers etc ...

Bitchywaitress · 23/05/2018 02:12

Thank you David. If you have a wife/girlfriend I'm sure she is so proud of you now, as are we Flowers

sorenipples · 23/05/2018 03:54

The ironic thing in my opinion is that were being female to be based on stereotypes, your empathy and warmth read as far more "female" than the online postings of some of those that have made the grade of "female" for the labour party.

Though given the way they are treating you maybe they do read you as female and that's the problem....

This!

That's what I was getting at with my recent post re felt sense empathy - you either have it or not and many of the MRAs and flying monkeys, in various guises, seem not to have. The Labour Party and woke bros are notable by their lack of this felt sense empathy for women - as many males in power

lightthedarkness · 23/05/2018 04:34

Wow! The Labour party normally takes months or years before acting on allegations of anti semitism and complaints by women but for you David - an instant suspension! This must be their top priority at the moment.

Great publicity for a completely unsustainable policy!

merrymouse · 23/05/2018 05:52

Now with a suspension, the Party will presumably need to define what a “self-identified woman” is, in order to show that I am not one. That, I believe, is progress.

Absolutely. They can’t just say that the political point you were making shows you aren’t trans as plenty of trans people oppose self ID.

(And also I don’t think you made it on a Wednesday).

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 23/05/2018 06:18

@IAmDavidLewis David! If it is really you please accept my most heartfelt thanks for doing this, no doubt at some personal cost to yourself.

It occurred to me a while ago that the only way to show self-ID up for the nonsense it is is for men to step up and make a mockery of it. I just didn't think any would have the balls to.

Would you be willing to share the contents of Labour's letter to you? I cannot see any way they could have excluded you without admitting self-ID is nonsense.

Also how far would you be willing to take this? Would you be willing to wear a dress on a Wednesday and appeal? (I'm completely serious)

SeahorsesAREhorses · 23/05/2018 06:18

You need to challenge the party and ask them to define self defined woman. How were you womaning wrong when Pippa Bunce can jump between sexes and advise women about women's issues when Pippa is womaning?
