Guess how I got suspended from the Labour Party?

Well, one of the weirdest days in my life concluded with me receiving a letter informing me of my immediate suspension from the Labour Party. They believe I may have breached the rules by subverting the intention of All Women Shortlists, Women’s Officers or minimum quotas for women. Unfortunately, this does mean that my political ambitions are on hold for a while. I shall of course be continuing to self-identify as a woman every Wednesday, as that is my gender identity...

I have to say a huge thanks to @namechangeah for all her help, guidance and, more importantly, proof-reading! I wouldn’t have gotten to this point without it. I’d also like to thank everyone for their support today. I hope this has helped a bit.

David can't be woman's office because he is a bloke. Being a good bloke, even an inspirational bloke, still leaves you unqualified to be women's officer. This may be disappointing for you as you identify as a woman on Wednesdays but the need to appoint someone with lived experience of being an adult human female trumps your identity.

LOL, except for when the class analysis applied to trans kicks in, and then it is all trans, regardless of circumstance, the most oppressed in the universe. Even Caitlin Jenner. So very oppressed.

@speakingwoman Thank you. @SwearyG asked if I was going to phone in to Jeremy Vine. I wasn’t planning to, as there are people who are far better at talking about this issue than I am. The debate is not mine to have, but if my actions have prompted it, then I hope the opportunity is used well.

And I agree. Biological reality and lived experience would seem to be good qualifications for women’s-only positions.

Strong end message though - that women have experienced lifelong discrimination as a result of their sex and trans women have a different experience.

Agreed it was muddled. Should have stuck to the exact issue of AWS without trying to eat the whole elephant.
