Twitter comment from Heather -

Today @WEP_UK have reached the conclusion to their investigation. They say they recommend I do not continue in my role as Party Spokeswoman for violence against women and girls to take effect immediately. I will not appeal and I resign my membership #vawg

Nothing on WEP website or twitter - utterly spineless idiots.

I'm not a member, cancelled my membership after their disastrous web chats on here. So I've no stake in this. But can't help feel for Heather. Completely undeserved & illustrates just how absurd this whole trans ideology is when someone like Heather isn't the 'right sort' of advocate/expert on the subject of violence against women & girls, and the vacuous accusation of 'transphobia' takes precedence over her clear compassion on a subject that actually matters.

I saw Heather at a meeting in Glasgow & was really impressed by her considered care and expertise, not least because she was ill & still made the journey to come up and share her thoughts with us. She's worth 100 of those trans hypnotised eejits too busy fawning over the trans cult.

smh

I wonder if secretly the W no longer stands for Women, and now stands for "What about the men"

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 21/02/2018 09:02

Link to Heather's Twitter thread.

it has become a strange old world when a desperate hope to cling to is that a known lesbian presenter can make some sort of comment about not knowing about sex with a penis. Strangely enough, waiting for a straight chap to make comments about not knowing how to suck cock isn't an issue (and now I have a very strange fantasy episode of QI with Alan Davies running in my head!). Now waiting for Sandi to be accused of being transphobic for making such remarks.........

Myunicornfliessideways · 21/02/2018 09:29

Less the Womens Equality Party than the Womens (re) Education Party.

It's a mouthpiece for men intent on managing women out of equality and womanhood.

DodoPatrol · 21/02/2018 09:35

I can think of other words beginning with W that might seem appropriate, Goody.

UpstartCrow · 21/02/2018 09:52

I've no doubt there is a small but powerful lobby behind many of these decisions, but they couldn't get this far without a lot of people being too cowardly to speak out.

Ouchbirthhurted · 21/02/2018 10:57

If you start a new party with 'Women' in the title then someone's bound to ask about the WEP and no matter what you do or how calm and rational your reasoning it'll be feminist bunfight or the left is eating itself or jokes about The People's Front of Judea.

I get why you are saying this but I don't agree. A new party representing biological women's interests in the debate would have a strong political voice. This would give a platform for proper debate about the issues. Biological women get all this pretty quickly. I think it could be a great way to get back to having proper, balanced debate.

Ouchbirthhurted · 21/02/2018 10:59

Also it would have to be cross-party views as a party I think, to avoid the left rating itself thing. With the aim to restore and protect women's rights as a sex.

Ouchbirthhurted · 21/02/2018 11:04

Eating not rating

AttillaThePun · 21/02/2018 11:20

How can you have a political party that's cross-party, Ouch? Do you mean something like a cross-party political movement rather than a party with a complete manifesto? I think that might work.

The WEP had something a while ago which they called their 'nickable policies' and they offered them to all the major parties so they could 'steal' them, which I thought was quite clever. They didn't think they'd get seats in Parliament but they'd done all the legwork for anyone who wanted to adopt their principles, and they'd brought their issues to wider attention.

I still think any new Woman Party would be interpreted by the media as FEMINIST BITCHFIGHT LOL which would be a pain to get around, but I'm willing to be proved wrong. (I'd quite like to be wrong, tbh!)

TheClitterati · 21/02/2018 11:46

Ever the optomistic I stuck with the WEP for longer than some here, but today is the end of my membership.

Bad form WEP - very bad form for women everywhere.

Can someone confirm why Dr Heather Brunskell-Evans was being investigated in the first place? It surely wasn't just over a Moral Maze episode was it? I've just re-listened to it and wouldn't be able to work out where she said anything offensive?

niceandtoasty · 21/02/2018 12:21

I think a re-brand is in order:

The Working Exclusively for Penis-owners party?

Jog22 · 21/02/2018 12:25

No it really was just that. Wow. Incidentally on the same programme Jane Fae said this:
"Delaying puberty has minimal consequences."

“If 0.1% of the adult population is trans then 0.1% of the child population is trans. So…we are beginning to move to the real levels not a fad.”

Both sailed by without the slightest questioning of their validity.

nauticant · 21/02/2018 12:55

I'd imagine HBE's book on the ideology of transgendering children went down like a bucket of cold sick Jog22.

Oh yes the book. Duh. I'll get my coat.

xxmarksthespot · 21/02/2018 13:22

Shame on them, horrible cowardly decision.

Patodp · 21/02/2018 13:24

She was a perfect spokesperson for a party representing women and girls with a 30 year carreer centred on feminism and gender analysis.
She does not believe gender is innate and is against transing pre pubescent children.

She obviously HAD to go!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/02/2018 13:56

WEP "statement" here: www.womensequality.org.uk/february_21_statement

PlectrumElectrum · 21/02/2018 14:08

That statement is just pathetic. Spineless and blinkered in equal measure.
