What's your experiences whether in the workplace, on TV or at home? Is feminism in danger of not being treated seriously because those with negative experiences of men feel the need to openly trash men. Do women or men trash the opposite sex more?

If you're asking "does man bashing give feminism a bad name?" then I'd say absolutely it does.

Search for the thread on here about the survey where only 7% of UK women identified as feminists despite 85% believing in equality. Many of the (female) posters explicitly stated that it was man bashing that influenced this stance and more than a few said that they avoid the feminism section on here as they find it tiresome.

It's sad as it turns most men away from helping and leaves just the limp-wristed ineffectual 'white knight types who are largely ignored in real life and are in many instances just hoping it'll get them laid.

Pointing out actual facts is not man bashing.

I think the denigration I see on TV - in sitcoms, adverts etc. is mainly commissioned/written/directed by men - I wonder what this man bashing by men does for their collective consciousness.
