It might be worth looking at the city centre using Google Maps if you're not familiar; and its terrible for parking.

Did anyone here go? How was it? Did TRAs turn up to protest/make things difficult for the organisers and attendees? I hope everybody managed to have a safe and interesting discussion.

Great evening, much gratitude and respect to the organisers and speakers.

I really wanted to go to this. Husband working tonight, and couldn't get childcare, and unfortunately my toddler was unlikely to behave quite as well as your baby, cat ...! Will have a look at twitter now.

Well. That was a treat.

Helen Steel, Linda Bellos, Anne Ruzylo and Heather Brunsell Evans gave informative and inspiring talks.
It was good to be in a safe space to share and take strength from each other.

Thank you to the organisers who did a fabulous job. No TRA disruption. The one dissenting voice was treated with respect and listened to. (It would have been good to be able to have talked more with her.) Her courage in speaking out in a room full of gender critical thinkers was acknowledged. A kindness which, as was amply demonstrated by the speakers, has not been afforded the other way round.

I particularly liked the ideas of working on what we, as women, are for, rather than against and the resurrection of some kind of new Women's Liberation Movement.

Thanks also to Mumsnet, for facilitating this much needed consciousness raising.

It was an inspiring talk, I wish I could have stayed longer afterwards but had a bit of a drive to get home and was knackered (plus am rather shy at the best of times). All the speakers we’re fantastic, Helen was especially touching and it was clearly an emotional subject for her (the treatment she received from the TRAs has obviously had had a significant effect on her).

I was appreciative of the woman who challenged Heather (not that I agreed with her in the slightest) as it highlighted the fact that debate, something not afforded to us gender critical women, is needed and should take place. I just wish she had done it in a more eloquent and less confrontational way as to promote critical thinking rather than just putting people’s shackles up. Heather responded fantastically.

That Linda Bellos is back in the frame and women are referencing women like Andrea Dworkin is a dream come true for old sisters like me.

Hope Spare Rib and Virago limber back into action.

Spare Rib was our magazine and invaluable. I don't know of any online women's rights publications which have the same bite, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Virago publishing house was the gateway to so many of us re learning our story through women writers who had been 'erased'.

Would have loved to have gone but was working. So pleased that it passed off with no trouble.

Missed it finally. There was a work thing I couldn't get out of. But will be looking out on youtube.
Have been looking out for others on eventbrite but they have been too far.

I followed it on Twitter really pleased to see it went ahead without any problems, sensible, intelligent, informed, discussion is crucial.

It would appear that at least one of the men in attendance last night was an infiltrator. I've had sight of them 'bigging up' the woman who challenged the views of the room and how she stood up to the 'TERFs' and how they will have regretted giving her a ticket given that she stood up and challenged the lot of us.
Another one was gutted at having his ticket cancelled. He had a speech prepared and everything.
