Hypermasculinity is harmful. Twas ever thus. I'd like to think that there is a solution but tonight I am very jaded and can't see it.

Except how awful it is. How it brutalises little boys and teaches them that being a man is about being a horrible shit. How difficult patriarchy and the cult of masculinity, makes it for men to be nice people. How amazing it is that so many of them manage in spite of it. How depressing it is that most are so thick that they can't imagine being a man might actually mean not being a dick. How irritating it is that they are always on CiF. What else?

Oh I know. How terribly sad it is, to see men policing their son's masculinity, making sure they measure up. Brutalising them early, to make sure they don't get bullied at school by all the other little brutalised boys.

We don't 'just focus on the victims'. We constantly talk about the people who do these things. We may be ever so ineffectual but we do try and we're not invisible. The men who do these things may not notice women speaking out but I am arrogant enough to be sure women do notice.
