I remember at ante-natal classes when I was expecting DD, they showed the BF video - anyone seen that one?

And I was totally struck by how the breasts all looked, well, 'imperfect'.

Then I realised something: I had never seen real breasts before.

Only inflated implant chests in magazines etc.

Up until that day I thought I had freakish deformed boobs which only surgery could "cure".

I was 25 and thought I was hideously deformed. Makes me feel sad and angry, isn't this the worst kind of misogyny, engendering self-loathing in women, turning us against our own bodies?

Well, four years altogether, and yes they are, as it happens, but they're no worse than my DSis's who also has two DC and didn't BF.

Total of over 3 yrs breastfeeding here, and still no sagging... Can go bra-less whenever I want.

Less of the devotee please. Hate page 3 but worth pointing out, in the context of the op, that it does have natural (18 year old, pointy uppy) boobs. And everyone has seen page 3.

I didn't know that about page 3. Though 18 yr old pointy uppy boobs aren't the norm, either, even if they are natural.

Porceleine - I just want to point out that I breastfed for five years (three years for my first child and two for my second) and my breasts look better than ever. The changes of pregnancy and breastfeeding were only temporary. It's a real shame you believed that not breastfeeding was the only way to keep your breasts looking the way you felt they should look.

page 3 is hardly representative of the average woman's boobs though is it? As you say, they're mostly teenagers and they have been chosen because their breasts (and bodies in general) fit into the narrow, male-defined idea of female beauty.

porceleine, you have a very funny idea of the 'basic rules of politeness.' I feel really sad that so many women are put off BF because of 'horror stories' which are just that: stories - i.e. not true. I have absolutely no problem with women who choose not to BF but all women should be able to make that decision fully armed with the facts.

FWIW, mine looked pretty good up until about 10 years ago (loooong time after I finished BF). Age and gravity have a lot to answer for.
