Thanks.

That is it.

You know how I have appreciated your posts and your influence, so I don't need to say more.

No nay-sayers allowed, please respect this space for people who wish to express their appreciation of a person who has been a force for good on MN.

Hopefully it's like Terry Wogan, you know when he kept leaving but then he kept coming back ...

Come on Dits, just do a name change, put on some dark glasses, speak with a dodgy French accent, and that'll fool the trolls....

edd1337 · 17/09/2011 23:23

Oh Yama, I am so tempted to shoot down what you said but i'll respect the OP's wishes and stand down

On another thread, another time perhaps

AnyFucker · 17/09/2011 23:31

take your temptations somewhere else, edd

seriously, they are not welcome here

please respect my wishes, you could have just stayed off the thread completely

I'm not sure Dittany would appreciate my Terry Wogan pic at this point. Or ever, really Grin

AnyFucker · 17/09/2011 23:41

don't be too sure, BOF Grin

Thank you Dittany for posting in a reasoned way what I already thought but with conviction.
can you stay ?

BuckBuckMcFate · 17/09/2011 23:45

Thank you Dittany.

I have only posted a few times on the feminist section but have lurked a lot.

There will, IMO, be a big Dittany shaped hole in a lot of threads.

I hope you feel you can return one day.

learningtofly · 17/09/2011 23:48

This tends to be a topic I lurk in rather than post in. It would be nice to write something really profound but unfortunately its not really my forte!

The thing I like most about MN is the posters abilities to challenge your valves and what you think., even if you only lurk. So thank you dittany for your posts which always made me stop and think about things from a different perspective.

caramelwaffle · 17/09/2011 23:49

Thank you, Dittany.

learningtofly · 17/09/2011 23:51

Values and not valves. Obviously.

Can't take me anywhere.

AnyFucker · 17/09/2011 23:52

we gotcha LTF Grin

What has happened to Dittany? Confused

redsun · 17/09/2011 23:59

Oh and Thank you too!

AnyFucker · 18/09/2011 00:02

Red, Dittany felt she had no choice but to leave MN after coming under attack from several quarters

I am another some-time lurker, who is rather belatedly in life dipping toes into the subject of feminism because I have three teenage daughters. I am really disappointed that Dittany wont be here. Ive been reading some of her threads and am inspired by her passion and conviction. Thanks Dittany, I hope you do come back some day and I will continue to read your work here in the meantime.

Stateofplay · 18/09/2011 06:51

I've never posted on a thread like this, but wanted to add a thank you to Dittany, and note than I'm yet another long-time lurker who has been influenced by Dittany's posts over the past few years: I discovered feminism really at the same time I had a baby and discovered Mumsnet, and that is due, in no small part, to threads and posts by Dittany.

So thanks for the thought-provoking writing, and I hope Dittany that, if you don't already, you now find an outlet as a feminist writer, whether in a book, for a blog or other publication.

I hope dittany is reading this.

She should feel justifiably proud of what she's achieved.

What a wonderful thread.

handsomeharry · 18/09/2011 09:15

I am a lurker in the feminism section. Dittany challenged and the changed my thinking on a number of issues. Thank you.

Tota1Xaos · 18/09/2011 09:51

Thank you Dittany. For your passion, commitment, and sharing of knowledge.

ThePosieParker · 18/09/2011 10:03

It was you that inspired me to challenge my thinking, I feel quite sad that you're gone.

Thank you dittany. Like so many others here, I respect you enormously and appreciate your incisive straight talking posts, and the knowledge and perception that you brought this section.

I know you will keep raising feminist consciousness - it is our loss that you won't be doing it here.

Beachcomber · 18/09/2011 10:52

Oh and I know this thread is for dittany but I'm sure AF won't mind if I add that there are other voices who are missing from this section too at the moment. I just wanted to add my thanks to them too. I'm thinking of Sakura in particular but there are others too. You know who you are sisters Smile.
