nice baps

A petition and letter of complaint has been handed to owner John O'Toole, decrying his bakery's choice of title: Nice Baps.

Am I uptight and odd to be uncomfortable with this. My problem is I'm not very good expressing myself but...
it feels like theyre saying its ok to make womens breasts something you can comment on because it's ok it's only a joke

Doesn't bother me, either. I think it's a bit dumb because I do, obviously, see the intended pun. But it makes me itchy when people get offended by puns like this which you can only understand if you think the same way as the punner. Since a bap is a perfectly legitimate name for a bread roll, my aunty wouldn't even get that it was meant to be a pun ... se what I mean? The complainants are as bad as the sniggerers.

I reckon this sort of thing is best ignored, like any other feeble joke.

There used to be a famous bootmaker called R. Soles. I believe it was the owner's real name, but somebody somewhere probably found it offensive.

Oh, gawd, I've started playing a game all by myself now! Is it offensive for a kitchenware shop to put Large Jugs in the window? The butcher to advertise Breasts & Legs on Special Offer? The cafe to offer Spotted Dick on Tuesdays?
... better get myself a copy of Viz and shut up Grin

God, I'd be bloody embarrased to shop in there.

Worse yet, in my mum's village, a lady called Carol has seen fit to call her sandwich shop 'Carol's Hot Baps' One is most definitely NOT amused Hmm
