yeah they were really brilliant, I missed them at Million Women Rise. We can have a search for cheap accomodation maybe? Some of the hostels around the british museum do private rooms that are quite cheap.

Lastminute.com frankly scares me, esp when nothing is offered under £180, what nonsense. Gower St is good for cheap B&Bs too.

I try to ask people even when I think they are going to look at me as if I have just sprouted a cactus from my head.

I had a look on womensgrid and found results from Manchester, Cambridge and (rather sweetly) Hampstead, all in spring of this year. A lot of them seem to be newish. Ooh, and Bristol and Newquay.

Pretty much UmYeah! Last year I armed myself with a friend (not compulsory) and turned up. I got asked to help steward because they were a bit short of volunteers. Then me and a few thousand other women walked through the streets of London, sometimes shouting, or singing, or just being quiet. Some strangers came and joined in. One older lady came out of her house which was on the route, in support of her daughter who had recently been violently raped. :(:(:( She told me the whole story, and how glad she was that there was a group of women on the streets shouting about it.

You can walk solemnly or noisily or thoughtfully or holding a banner or holding someone's hand. Or you can just use it as a way to walk through London after dark without being scared. The police accompany the march and one officer told me that he asks to do it every year as he supports the purposes of the march.

My friend started pulling the cards out of phoneboxes last year and loads of people joined in. The police didn't seem to notice :)

Oh, I'm thrilled these have come back! I used to go on the walks in the 80s :)

Can't go because of location + lack of transport, but I hope millions of women do!
