I don’t drink late avoid caffeine too

im on hrt

I had similar symptoms, spoke to GP and referred to incontinence service. Now take specific medication and local HRT. Really helped, especially with the leaks. Im 53.

You don’t mention your weight but it was a huge factor for me and after losing 7 stone I can sleep through now. I had no idea how much it affected me

These comments are so interesting and helpful . Im going to try magnesium and see if it helps . I’m already taking oestrogen cream and it’s made no difference sadly

I think the pessaries are more powerful and effective? Have you asked for those?

Do you snore? I was getting up 5 x a night for a wee and it was exhausting. My snoring has also always been bad. Apparently nocturia is a sign of sleep apnoea. Now I have my cpap machine I don't wake up for a wee, it's brilliant.

Oh I had no idea there was a connection with sleep apnoea and getting up to wee. I also rarely snore now due to losing weight and DH thinks the sleep apnoea is all but gone.

No HRT and I sleep through the night. I always have a wee last thing before bed even if I don’t feel I need to.

I don’t drink anything past 8.00pm.

I am up early every day though so go around 6.00am but it’s not urgent.

You see I much prefer the oestrogen cream. Much easier to smear it everywhere you need it to go esp. On the perineum!

@Zodiacrobat Not according to Kings university researchers.

If I drink too much water or tea after 7pm, I am 20 times. So the last tea is before 7 and my dinner is salty. Job done. Just once.

I’m your age and although I don’t need the toilet at night, many of my friends are up 3 times like you. I think it’s the luck of the draw.

After many children I was going several times a night from early 30, told a Dr and straightaway she said take magnesium. From age 33 I take 1 a day and now 41 and never been up in the night not once since...oh sorry I forgot to take it on holiday once and within 24hours back up every night..Tbh no idea why it works but it did and does, stopped leaks and everything to. And I forgot to put I don't have to watch how much I drink or what I drink anymore either or how late.

Local vag oestrogen is what you need.
