Shooting Pain Up Bum!

This is so embarrassing to write never mind speak to a dr.

for a could of years during my period now, I've had really bad shooting pains up my bum, particularly during bowel movements. It's been painful but bareable. However my period started the other day and it's been a million times worse this month.
Im getting random shooting pains up my bum that are literally stopping me in my tracks. I can't walk or have a conversation.
fortunately its the weekend and I'm not at work (I'm a teacher so honestly no idea what i would do).
The BMs have been much worse as well. Last night I honestly thought I was going to pass out from the pain and then it passed.

Im wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this and if there's anything I can do about it? There are no Drs open at the weekend.
I'm 38 and have had 3 children. I've never had issues with my periods like this before.
if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

We call it stabby arse pain! I’ve never had piles to my knowledge. No idea what causes it!

Ye so get javelin arse during period and it is linked to the bowel. It is extremely painful and I have to stop and breathe and usually hold onto something

Had this the other day and nearly fainted. Horrible.

I have Endometriosis and get this sometimes it can be worse for me when I’m supposed to be on cycle but a marina coil really helped with that for me

High prolactin levels can cause javelin arse and cause it to get worse. Vitamin B6 and Zinc are supplements that can support. Exercise, good sleep and controlling stress levels also. Definitely speak to your GP if it’s becoming debilitating and not just an occasional annoyance.

Constipation and wind can do it.

Take that from one who knows!

I used to get it every other month when ovulating which I assume meant it was something to do with one specific ovary. I don’t have any ovaries now.
