Nipple photo attached - am I worrying for nothing?

I've noticed over the past couple of months that my nipple is being pulled inwards - it's hard to explain but there seems to be what looks and feels like skin attached to the middle of nipple to the edge of the areloa. I've attached a photo - hopefully you'll see what I mean!

It doesn't hurt, no kids so not breastfeeding etc. History of breast cancer in my family so a little concerned, but just more confused really! Any ideas? Google is giving me nothing to work with.

Hoping all is well op. Mine was a cyst. Had mammogram and it was drained. Thick fluid but a cyst.

Sorry I've not been back with an update. It's been rather hectic here - I've had covid, meaning my appointment with the breast clinic has been pushed back. In the meantime, my mum has just told me that she's also been referred back to the breast clinic with some worrying symptoms - she had breast cancer about 7 years ago so it's all a bit concerning. I've not told her about me also being referred.

Oh gosh what bad luck with Covid and your Mum having the worry as well.

Yeah my head is spinning a bit! But trying to relax with a glass of wine - whatever will be, will be.

Really sorry to hear this but sounds like you have a sensible head on your shoulders. If it’s any consolation, I had something similar happen 6 years ago, my DC were very small at the time, and it did turn out to be BC. I had a year of chemo, radiology and a mastectomy (demanded a double just in case though only needed one side) and still here 6 years later watching my DCs grow up and have a really positive attitude to life because when things have been so shit you savour every second and every opportunity and that has been a real gift from it. Hope you get some good news but there is hope of you don’t xx

Oh and I have very perky boobs courtesy of the NHS which look good on my 46 year old middle aged body 😊

@Warmcandle 😂 I was just thinking that myself - if it does turn out to be worst case scenario hopefully I'll come out with a new pair of perky boobs from it!

It was a very challenging time for sure but everyone was so lovely, it was certainly a time to find out who your true friends are. I dumped my old job after the treatment finished and got a new one, booked our first fancy holiday abroad and remain an optimist despite it all.
