Nipple photo attached - am I worrying for nothing?

I've noticed over the past couple of months that my nipple is being pulled inwards - it's hard to explain but there seems to be what looks and feels like skin attached to the middle of nipple to the edge of the areloa. I've attached a photo - hopefully you'll see what I mean!

It doesn't hurt, no kids so not breastfeeding etc. History of breast cancer in my family so a little concerned, but just more confused really! Any ideas? Google is giving me nothing to work with.

The appointment was made on the Tuesday 4 th April when strikes known about and hope they would have cancelled by now if they were going to. Hate the stress of the this. Not good at compartmentalising.

Notastic · 07/04/2023 20:05

Been referred on. GP 'very concerned'.

Oh my love, I'm sorry that they've said something that's understandably made you anxious but I'm also pleased they've taken it seriously and escalated it.

Have they given you any idea of how long before you can see whoever they're referring you to?

Well done for making sure you got seen one way or another Flowers

DinkyDaisy · 07/04/2023 20:10

Let us know when your appointment is. We can wait together.
It is so hard I know. Xx

Tilllly · 07/04/2023 20:11

Bloody hell, not the update we wanted

I think you'll be seen quickly

DinkyDaisy · 07/04/2023 20:13

My GP said if any sort of lump/ change in breast and they will refer. So, more likely to refer than not.
I assume, like me, it will be a Breast Clinic.

userxx · 07/04/2023 20:13

Not what you wanted to hear but you're one step ahead now. I've been referred to the breast clinic and it's scary but it doesn't necessarily mean a negative outcome. Got everything crossed for you. 🤞

Throwncrumbs · 07/04/2023 20:24

The two week urgent referral is rubbish, I got a referral, then a letter for my urgent appt for 6 weeks later so 2 months after being told I’m in the two week urgent referral my appointment is next week, bearing in mind that the GP missed my crap blood results from back in December and a new GP picked it up to make the urgent referral in early Feb. Shocking state of affairs!

SnuggleBuggleBoo · 07/04/2023 20:35

I'm so glad you're being taken seriously. Very best of luck.

NCTDN · 07/04/2023 20:44

Keep us updated op Flowers

RosaBonheur · 07/04/2023 20:47

Glad you're being referred OP, fingers crossed it's nothing.

winterchills · 07/04/2023 21:10

So so glad you have been referred. Hopefully nothing but you can never be too careful

dew141 · 07/04/2023 21:13

Echoing what everyone else said. The GP will rightly err on the side of caution so it may be good news.

But glad you're being seen promptly and we'll be wishing you well for the results.

JeepersCreeperrs · 07/04/2023 21:20

Hope all is ok OP.

Justhereforaibu1 · 07/04/2023 21:49

Oh no, hope all turns out to be ok x

flexigirl · 07/04/2023 22:03

Oh god - good luck OP I've been through similar , needed a biopsy and it was a cyst so keeping everything crossed for you

determinedtomakethiswork · 07/04/2023 22:06

I'm so glad you're being referred. Wishing you the very very best of luck.

MoongazyHare · 07/04/2023 22:15

Well done, OP. It’s all frightening but so much better to be on the road to a diagnosis than still wondering and worrying. Take care 💐💐💐

SergeiL · 07/04/2023 22:22

Wishing you the best. Have been through this several times. Most recently for a bleeding /discharging nipple which caused major concern but turned out to be benign. For those where this is not the case, the consensus is always that the waiting is the worst bit. Handhold for you.

memyselfi · 07/04/2023 22:42

I hope you get a speedy appointment and everything is fine OP.

WingingItSince1973 · 07/04/2023 23:28

So glad you persisted. My GP is fantastic for lumps I've been seen same day every time I've found something. The last time was in September. I'd ignored it for months as wasn't sure if was a lump or just my body. Was fast tracked and went to breast clinic within a week. Consultant there said def lump and even drew round it. Send me for ultrasound and mammogram same day and said I most likely will need a biopsy. I had myself in such a state waiting for the scans. I convinced myself it was serious. I had the mammogram first then half hour later the ultrasound and they told me there and then it was just a benign lump. I absolutely cried my eyes out. I really hope your news will be as positive as possible but you know what after that scare I came to terms with the fact it does happen and it still may in the future but so many women go through it and come out the other side. I know so so many friends who have not had such good news but are now fine. It's a super scary time and I'm so sorry for anyone going down this road. Lots of love ❤️

Secondrater · 07/04/2023 23:47

I've been to the breast clinic several times and the waiting is just the worst. Hope all ok with you.

I was diagnosed with something called Mondor's disease- I has a pulled in bit like a line. It's not serious and was such a relief.

DinkyDaisy · 09/04/2023 09:20

Hi @Notastic . Hope you are OK. I am still stuck in my head waiting til appointment. I am going to try and be kind to myself but so hard not to dwell.

Fantasmagoricalan · 11/04/2023 06:35

I hope you get an appointment soon, OP.

Theos · 12/04/2023 08:51
