Oh bless you, the emotions will pass. You’ve been through major surgery and not recovered yet!
Be kind to yourself but be patient, you will get there.
Are you on codeine? Because that can cause constipation, as soon as I stopped taking that things improved.
just take it gently we’re all different
Enjoy a quiet weekend

Kimmismth · 10/06/2022 16:54

Yep tying not to take it tho because of that
also on iron but not taking that as my henaglobin is very low but I heard that makes u not go

It will get better, the problem is no one actually knows what you need except you. Ask, or tell them, it might help.

You will turn a corner soon - all the time you are feeling rubbish, your body is working away to heal itself. Flowers. The first poo after the operation can take a while; as pps said, codeine doesn't help. Check with a doctor - I was recommended a mild laxative which helped, and eating plenty of fresh fruit. Don't strain, it will come when it is ready.

It's normal to feel emotional and irrational. I remember going bananas at my husband because he decided to buy a new sound bar for the TV (which I had been on at him for ages to do!) and then was faffing for ages trying to connect it up. It's because your body has undergone major trauma - a major 'injury' if you like.

Try to rest as much as you can, get plenty of sleep, and listen to what your body is telling you to do or not do.

Sleep is a wonderful healer, OP, so don't fight it! Also remember to stay hydrated (non-carbonated drinks). 🌹

Kimmismth · 11/06/2022 02:34

That all sounds very positive! The tiredness is the longest thing to remain with you, your pain should continue to ease and it's great that you've moved your bowels now.

Kimmismth · 13/06/2022 12:35

I did say the other day I wish I never had it done but I feel more positive today
xx

You are over the worst and you really won't regret it in the long term!

SophiaLarsen · 13/06/2022 14:21

Glad you are on the mend. Seriously, speak to the GP about HRT Flowers

Kimmismth · 15/06/2022 13:38

So can I ask if I’m being out of order etc
so confused
I’m size 12/14
move been out of hospital a week tomorrow
move been eating cereal etc for brekkie
a sandwich or crumpet for lunch
and chicken salad or just normal evening meal for tea
yesterday I had avocado on toast with bit of salmon on just thin stuff
at lunch I asked for some microwave rice with little bit of chicken
oh said that’s a big lunch after a big breakfast
I ended up having a sandwich which to me was just as big
I had chicken salad jelly and ice cream
today I had half bowl of fruit fibre and a pasty with coleslaw for lunch
my oh is going on about my calorie intake as before op I didn’t eat 3 meals a day and now I am and I’m not hardly moving obviously so I’ll be putting weight on
i said I’ve not been out of hospital a week and I’m just trying to get better and get my strength up
am I over eating or am I right in thinking it’s too soon to be thinking about calories etc at mo
sorry for long post

OP posts:
Kimmismth · 15/06/2022 13:41

Also I’m not munching crisps choc etc
I’m just doing 3 meals so I can take my meds that’s all
he’s not a nasty person and if I put weight on I am evil and moan but I just think I need to recover before thinking about calories etc

I agree with you, your body needs the fuel for healing. Sounds like you’re being sensible

Kimmismth · 15/06/2022 16:32

Thankyou xx

OP posts:
Antarcticant · 15/06/2022 18:22

Listen to your body - if it's telling you you are hungry, then eat. As pps say, your body will need energy and nutrients to repair itself after your operation.

Your diet sounds balanced and nutritious - I don't think you need to change anything.

It's certainly not the time to start any sort of diet!

Kimmismth · 15/06/2022 18:36

Thankyou I did think that
so I don’t feel as bad now and will tell him so
I don’t think he actually thinks before he speaks sometimes lol xx
