Hi all!

Just that really, looking into Wuka's reusable period pants and just wondering if anyone uses them, how they work (do you have to keep changing pants through the day?) and if they would recommend?

Thanks! Xx

@Titanium2013 glad I could help, I stumbled across them one day and think they are really good too! I’ve only managed to get one or two each visit though as they seem very popular

A lot of people are saying they double up on these pants and then a tampon or pad for heavy days. Can I ask what the point is then? I thought they were supposed to eliminate the need for other products? Seems a lot of money and effort to spend on a 'backup' product

@cabsavpls I am only going to use pads on 2 out of 7 days, so on the other days I will purely wear the period pants on their own. Plus, these pants go all the way up the back and, sorry tmi, my heavy flow often leaks up beyond the nighttime pad so I’m fully covered. If I was lucky enough to only have a moderate flow, I wouldn’t use sanitary towels at all! I think it just comes down to finding the combination that works for you.

I use a mooncup for the first couple of days (when it's heavy) and then period pants for the rest. Wuka are great but Luna are good too. Soooo glad to not have to use pads or tampons anymore. Saved a fortune I reckon and way better for the environment.

I like the Cheeky Wipes for heavy days and Primark ones for the lighter days - although as I’m peri menopausal it’s various levels of bloodbath. I wear them with a pad on the v heavy days as I tend to leak.

I tried the Modibodi recycled seam free full briefs ones but hated them - they’re a weird fit and cut far too high so had a permanent wedgie with them and no protection as a result.

I have modibodi which are really good but my periods are heavy so I have to use tampons as well for the first couple of days. For the pp asking why it’s worth it if you are doubling up, before I was using tampons and pads and often still leaked at night. I also don’t need any extra protection during the last 3 days of my period so overall it is better for the environment as I’m using less disposable protection. If my periods were lighter I probably wouldn’t use any.

The flooding in peri menopause is insane at times. I had it. Periods often shorter but it was like the entire thing landed in one go.
