Missing period... Where has it gone!!!

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 19:47

I know it's always dreaded "that time of the month" but it's a way of knowing our body is doing what it's meant to be doing, so when it doesn't appear panic station starts to set it.

I've never been one for being as regular as clockwork but something doesn't feel right this time.

My last period was June 23rd, lasted for 4 days & wasn't heavy but pain was awful.

I'm not on the pill or any form of contraception as since having my children my body just doesn't get on with anything - believe me I've tried it all.

WHEN we have sex we use condoms & always are safe as we don't want anymore children. I've done my bit with babies, I'm quite happy to pass them back!!!!

Pregnancy test = NEG

All the symptoms of a period coming...
Sore breasts/nipples, bloated, back pain, tummy cramps & funny tummy (on&off)

The only things different this month is I've been feeling sick because the pains are horrible, cramp in my legs & the feeling like my whole insides are going to fall out my flower!!!

I contacted my doctor on Tuesday & they're going to call me back August 18th (Wednesday).

I'm 29, could I be going through menopause early? My periods just seem to be getting longer between each one!

If anyone has any advice or has been through something similar please share with me!

Stressed at all? Stress delays mine

itsmschanandlerbong · 13/08/2021 20:06

I am always very regular but last year I didn't have a period for 8 weeks, then had one that lasted 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks later then back normal again and it's not happened since. I was 30. I was under a lot of stress at the time, are you stressed?

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 20:15

I wouldn't say I'm overly stressed, maybe a little!
It is summer holidays after all!
Maybe it's subconsciously though cause I don't feel it!

Vaccine messed it up?

Watto1 · 13/08/2021 20:18

Flying always buggers my cycle up. Have you been away OP?

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 20:28

@TheMissingMango
I didn't even think about vaccine! Guess it possible as no one fully knows what it can do to the individual!

@Watto1
I haven't been away! I'm so boring!
(Plus I'm scared sick of flying - don't do heights!)

I thought of endometriosis when I read your symptoms. It’s a common cause of severe period pain.

Hormonal imbalances can cause period cycles to lengthen. You need a blood test to see what your hormone levels are like along with an internal ultrasound scan to see what your ovaries are like.

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 21:21

@AttilaTheMeerkat

I was advised before I had my children I had endometriosis but haven't gave it a second thought since you mentioned it.

When I see my GP on Wednesday I'm going to see what they say, ask for bloods & tests.

Something just doesn't feel right.

The covid vaccine went mine awol for 8 weeks

30degreesandmeltinghere · 13/08/2021 21:25

Mine arrived 24 days late after the second jab...
And wow was it heavy...

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 21:29

@Fruityfriday
@30degreesandmeltinghere

I'm going to look into this, maybe this has something to do with mine.
My 2nd vaccine was on May 27th.

30,000 reports of menstrual disorders after the vaccine now and they are looking into it. You should also report it via the yellow card scheme.

Missing period... Where has it gone!!!
W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 21:34

@RoseAddict

What is the yellow card scheme?
If I speak to my doctor on Wednesday can they report it or do I do it?

ExpressDelivery · 13/08/2021 21:37

Yes, I was going to say Covid vaccine too, although mine was all back to normal within a month of the jab, so worth keeping the doctor's appointment.

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 21:39

@ExpressDelivery

I'm definitely going to keep the appointment cause something just isn't sitting right with me. I really don't feel 100% & something isn't right!

Mine disappeared for a month after my vaccine. I'd never missed a period (other than pregnancy etc) before that!

RoseAddict · 13/08/2021 21:49

You can report it yourself. 27th May was a while ago though maybe it isn’t connected. I jumped to conclusions because a friend has had 6 weeks of non stop bleeding following the vaccine.

DixiePeach · 13/08/2021 21:58

Any unusual pain? Possible ectopic? I had ectopic and couldn’t shake the feeling something was very wrong. Had a mixture of pregnancy and pmt symptoms. I know you said you’ve had a negative test but when did you do the test?

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 22:09

@DixiePeach
See this did cross my mind but I swept it off, I don't know why?
4 days ago was a negative test.

@RoseAddict
Wow 6 weeks of non stop bleeding, that's awful bless her.

@Tomatobear
It seems to be more common that I thought, it's scary!

hayley013 · 13/08/2021 22:32

I've heard of tons of people that have had this or excessive bleeding after the vaccine

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 13/08/2021 22:37

Vaccine also totally messed with my cycle for about 4 months - late then every two weeks.
However, from what you’re saying I think you’re pregnant and would test again. I’ve had three chn and been pregnant 4 - two of them I tested negative for a while and then it appeared. I felt off and tried to figure out what else it could be too.

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 22:59

@hayley013
How strange, I'm definitely going to look into it & will be another thing I ask my GP about.

@twolittleboysonetiredmum
Maybe I should retest?
I can't see how I am...
I just don't feel right & can't put my finger on why?

OP posts:
twolittleboysonetiredmum · 13/08/2021 23:12

I would, at your age it’s quite a likely reason for no period. More so then peri menopause or anything.

W3STY17 · 13/08/2021 23:16

@twolittleboysonetiredmum
I keep trying to put it all to the back of my mind but easier said than done.
I feel like crap all the times. I feel like I'm constantly going to bleed out with how much my stomach is hurting me.
I keep going to the toilet expecting to come on but nothing happens, it's so bizarre.

OP posts:
Whirlywooo · 13/08/2021 23:32

I missed a period after the first jab. The following period was painful and very heavy. My next period was 3 weeks late. I'd put money on it being due to the vaccine.
