Missing period... Where has it gone!!!

I know it's always dreaded "that time of the month" but it's a way of knowing our body is doing what it's meant to be doing, so when it doesn't appear panic station starts to set it.

I've never been one for being as regular as clockwork but something doesn't feel right this time.

My last period was June 23rd, lasted for 4 days & wasn't heavy but pain was awful.

I'm not on the pill or any form of contraception as since having my children my body just doesn't get on with anything - believe me I've tried it all.

WHEN we have sex we use condoms & always are safe as we don't want anymore children. I've done my bit with babies, I'm quite happy to pass them back!!!!

Pregnancy test = NEG

All the symptoms of a period coming...
Sore breasts/nipples, bloated, back pain, tummy cramps & funny tummy (on&off)

The only things different this month is I've been feeling sick because the pains are horrible, cramp in my legs & the feeling like my whole insides are going to fall out my flower!!!

I contacted my doctor on Tuesday & they're going to call me back August 18th (Wednesday).

I'm 29, could I be going through menopause early? My periods just seem to be getting longer between each one!

If anyone has any advice or has been through something similar please share with me!

@Whirlywooo
If anything I would now put it down to that too.
I can't see how I'd be pregnant but hey, who knows!
It seems such a common thing on here to be vaccine… It never entered my brain about the possibility of it being the vaccine.

The one thing that is also bothering me is I normally get a mass of thick discharge a week or so before I have my period which I would probably say is around the time I ovulate but I haven't had this..

I'm going to get another test today & see what that says.

The pain is horrendous today, I'm laying on the sofa with a hot water bottle & no pain relief is helping.

Still no period..
Another negative test result.
I'm going to call the doctors tomorrow to see if I can speak with someone cause I don't think I can wait till Wednesday. The pain has been horrendous.

If the pain is horrendous, it's advisable to attend a&e so they can at least be sure that you don't have an ectopic pregnancy

W3STY17 · 15/08/2021 17:32

@NeverDropYourMoonCup
Would an ectopic give a negative result?
I feel like I'm going to literally bleed out. It's uncomfortable to walk & have the constant feeling like I'm going to come on but nothing happens...

OP posts:
NeverDropYourMooncup · 15/08/2021 18:55

It's rare, but it is possible.

Mine was about 3 weeks late and (more) horrendous than normal after the first jab, next one was also 3 weeks late and almost non existent. Currently on 3rd one since jab on 2nd May...it seems "normal" (2nd jab was 2nd July)

W3STY17 · 15/08/2021 19:25

@NeverDropYourMoonCup
I'm going to call the doctors tomorrow but don't know what they can do?

@Loubiemoo
Thanks for the link, I'm going to have a look!

@Antsinyourpanta
Seems like quite a popular thing that the jab messes with our cycles.
Guess there wasn't much information about this when we had the jabs.
Wonder if it effects people for a longer period of time?

Antsinyourpanta · 15/08/2021 19:27

Sorry I hadnt seen your updates when I posted but sounds more serious than just being messed up from the vaccine, if the pain is unbearable. Sad

W3STY17 · 15/08/2021 19:30

@Antsinyourpanta
Something just doesn't seem right.
Although my periods have never been regular or the average cycle length I normally have symptoms of coming on.
Like I mentioned before about the mass of discharge (sorry tmi) through my cycle which I would think is ovulation but that hasn't happened..
Just don't know what can be done? :(

I'm going in to see my doctor at 3:30 today & hopefully I'll get some help.
Now thinking about it I should have called 111 over the weekend but didn't think they'd be able to do much..?
I'm so done with the irregular periods & pain now.
I just want it over.
I just want to know where my body is at & what it's doing cause at the moment I have no clue.. 😢

I had my second jab on the 6th july. I have had 1 normal period since.... ( I was already ovulation when I had my jab) I am due tomorrow.... for the past 2weeks I have had all the PSM symptoms...back back bad belly bloating but jow ita.come to my time of the month its the slightest hit of spotting so far. What is that?!?!?! Stressing me out!

W3STY17 · 16/08/2021 21:07

Soo they've said I have PCOS.
They haven't mentioned anything in relation to my late period..
Don't know if it'll just appear or not.
I've been referred to a gynaecologist to have a further chat about what my choices are but doctor mentioned about hysterectomy.
I don't know what to do..

OP posts:
NeverDropYourMooncup · 16/08/2021 21:38

That would be an extremely drastic way of dealing with it. And not very likely to be suggested by a gynaecologist as a first measure.

Did they say PCOS or possibly an ovarian cyst? They're not the same thing. A scan would definitely be useful, though, so hopefully the referral comes through quickly - however, you are still able to present at A&E if the pain is too much to bear (as some cysts can become medical emergencies and need removal) - and there's still a possibility that it's something else that needs urgent assessment if it continues to worsen.

W3STY17 · 16/08/2021 21:57

@NeverDropYourMoonCup

I was sent to hospital where I had an emergency scan today. I had to have an internal ultrasound & was told that it was PCOS.
Both of my ovaries are effected but my left is slightly worse.

I was advised if the pain gets unbearable again to come straight back.
I do feel stupid for not going sooner but I just didn't think anything could be done.

I have tried various pills in the past but implant & coil are just out of the question. I'm not one for having either of those.

I thought the same when that was said but I'm not going to jump to anything until I have spoke more with the professional.

It's kinda blown my mind with what the doctor has said 😔

Has anyone been prescribed Mefenamic Acid?
Still no period - Still in pain..
Nothing can be done, just have to wait for period to arrive!
My appointment to see a gynaecologist is in November.

OP posts:
W3STY17 · 24/08/2021 22:12

I still have no period - It's gone on a massive vacation & I'm jealous!
If only I was going somewhere for as long as that's been missing!
Another pregnancy test done, I'm not sure if I can see a faint line or if my eyes are tricking me!
My DH can't see it so I think it's just me!
I'm still in pain, now taking Mefenamic Acid which isn't helping!
Doctors don't seem to want to help me.

I’m 29 not on any contraception.

Had my jabs in March and April. Periods have been crazy since then.

I also had the morning after pill on the 26th July. And I was due on the 9th august. Still nothing!
3 NEG pregnancy tests so far. No idea where they’ve gone :(

W3STY17 · 29/08/2021 21:03

@LibbyL92

Bless your heart..

I'm glad im not the only one in this situation.

My period still hasn't arrived. No pain relief that the doctors have given me has worked.
I've been resting all week & the pain seems to have calmed but keep getting niggles.

Don't know how long they leave you without a period before looking into it further?

I have a gynaecologist appointment at the end of November but that's a little while away.
