Called back so fast after ultrasound, so scared

Hi everyone, hope I’m posting I. The right place. I’m new to this.
I’m hoping someone can share a similar experience. I went to my Dr as I have been bleeding between periods, mainly around ovulation and experiencing pain In the pelvic are. My GP refer to guns who I saw on the 16th, he said cervix looked normal but there was a lot of brown blood up there. I had an ultra sound last Thursday and yesterday (only 3 working days after) received a letter sent 1st class asking me to come in this Friday. I already had a pre-arranged appt on the 14th December 2018 so they have cancelled that one and brought it forward quite significantly. I called up and spoke to the secretary who said it was to discuss my results but wouldn’t tell me what they were.
When I was having the ultra sound the tech wouldn’t tell me anything she look worried and then did an transvaginal one so I knew she needed to look at something more closel. I asked did she see anything and she said she saw a uterine polyp but wouldn’t say anything else and asked me who referred me. I feel she saw more.
I’m so scared due to the urgent call back. I will be seen a week after the ultrasound. Has anyone else had this and it’s beem something and nothing.

So sorry for essay xx

I had a CT scan for a gastro reason & the day the results came back to the consultant I had a phone call to tell me to come in for an ultrasound the following day. I had no idea why I needed an ultrasound, so I contacted my gastro doctor who said that a mass was seen on my ovary & one on my liver. I had the ultrasound & an MRI for the liver mass (which turned out to be harmless). The day after the ultrasound the hospital phoned & gave me an appointment at a cancer clinic in a few days time & told me to get my bloods done. I was terrified, especially at the urgency of everything. I went to clinic & my bloods were normal & although they are not sure what the mass is on my ovary, they are not concerned & I have ultrasounds & clinic appointments every 3 months.

@Sillybilly83 I have been watching this thread and thinking of you. Though its different, I found a lump in my breast last week and am awaiting my clinic appointment which is next week. My mind just seems to go to the worst thoughts, so its nice to hear your story, hear your fears which I feel are completely valid, to now hear that it was nothing too serious. Make me even more inclined to stay positive and stop telling myself its the worst before I actually know what it is.
Hopefully now you can enjoy your weekend xx

Sillybilly83 · 30/11/2018 12:19

Thank you everyone I’m relieved but will feel better if the biopsy gives the all clear.
@NGC I understand how your feeling but honestly try to stay positive as it could be something and nothing. Iv been to the breast clinic a few times as Iv felt lumps and it’s turned out to be normal tissue or cysts. Don’t think the worse it could be anything. Try and stay calm. Keep me updated and good luck xx

Good luck, OP! when is the procedure?
It's not quite a relief if you need a removal/biopsy but at least you know something proactive is being done. Fingers crossed it's fine, brave of you to go local anaesthetic though!

Sillybilly83 · 15/12/2018 19:42

Hi cat, Iv had the procedure done. They took the polyps out and did a d&c. I didn’t have th local just had 2 paracetamol. It wasn’t bad at all x

CatAndHisKit · 15/12/2018 22:44

Wow, seriously they let you just take paracetamol? but it's not even a keyhole, is it? you a rare brave soul, Op! how long did it take?
I don't know what d&c is - is that biopsy - so are you waiting for the result or is it all ok?

CatAndHisKit · 15/12/2018 22:45

soory too many q's there Grin

CatAndHisKit · 15/12/2018 22:48

they are fast though! you had an app and then a couple of hours later the removal - well done for not panicking and asking to postpone.

Sillybilly83 · 15/12/2018 23:51

Hi Cat, it was about 11 days week after my scan results that I had the polyp removal done.
I just took 2 paracetamol an hour before my appointment. I didn’t need the local ad it didn’t hurt when they put th camera in so I just left it. It’s really not bad.
A D&C is where they scrape the the lining of the uterus, that was the only part that hurt. It was al done within about 20 mins.
Just waiting for my results now x

oh sorry Op, I was looking at days but not DATES of you latest posts -I've only read the thread yesterday so I thought 'Friday' when you mentioned your app was yesterday - very silly!

I suppose polyps may be easier to remove (or much easier) than cysts, and I know a lot more about cysts. Still very brave re uterus!
how long to wait still? probably no more than couple of days?
Hope you are feeling positive or at least just ok.
