Dickens is overrated

I cannot get through Wolf Hall- not the book or even the tv series.

The Hobbit is shit and boring.

Wuthering Heights is horrible and claustrophobic, all those people with the same names who never go anywhere and just moon about at home. Ugh.

Jonathan Franzen is massively overrated. He is where he is mostly because he's a bloke, has unreserved self confidence, literature journalists think he's cool and wears trendy glasses.
His books? Meh.

And while I'm at it, Robert Harris can't write a female character for shit. (Although I do generally like his books).

Shakespeare is boring overdramatic bullshit and shouldn’t have so much emphasis at school. It would be more useful to focus on modern literature.

You beat me to it. A very limited, two-dimensional writer.

Robert Galbraith books are dull and are getting more difficult to read.

I did not think The Great Gatsby was very great.

The only time I have come across Jonathan Franzen is in Jennifer Weiner's writing. I'm not quite sure what point this makes ...

I do love Jennifer Weiner's books, however!

Jane Austen has issues

I really enjoyed all the Enid Blyton books and read many of secret seven, Mallory Towers etc

I still have some Enid Blyton books from when I was a kid and sometimes read one if I’m tired and miserable, they are like the book version of a teddy 😳

Jane Eyre is chick lit for the victorisn era.

The Alchemist was the biggest pile of foetid dingo's kidneys in the entirety of the written word. End Of.😂

I tried Little Women and didn't like it at all.

Dan Brown writes a rippingly good yarn.

Same with Catcher in the Rye. Massively hyped, to near mythical status and they're both just...OK.
