Anyone a Sarah J Maas fan? Mindblown after finishing Crescent City 2!!

Okay, none of my friends have read either ACOTAR or Crescent City and I am in DIRE need of discussing the ending of House of Sky and Breath with someone!!! I have read and re-read the ACOTAR series I loved it that much - and now I've fallen in love with the characters of CC series too so the ending has absolutely blown my mind!!! I don't think I can wait until Jan 2024 to find out where she's going to go with this (and I have MANY concerns about some of my favourite characters!!)

There's already been names and portals and magical stuff mentioned linking stuff all together and I'm excited for more!

I was watching an interview and she was saying how she thought ToG was done but now she's not sure and that she's contracted for 3 CC books but there's 4 houses sooo.

I need all the answers RIGHT NOW.

I have spent way too much on Maas special editions in the last year

@Soubriquet sounds amazing! I've read all the ACOTAR series, in fact read them 3 x now I love them that much! Read CC1 and 2 but really need to read the Throne of Glass books just wasn't sure if there was a certain other? Online I keep seeing people saying there's different orders to read them in

@1vandal2 eeeek! I don't know how she keeps track - it's amazing!! Honestly I want more ACOTAR, I NEED a book on Azriel! Also what I'm learning from this thread is that I really, really need to get the ToG books as they're the ones I haven't read! Need to commit to them and get them read before CC3 is released - which i am going crazy waiting for!!! I keep talking to my husband about it who has no clue what on earth I'm talking about 🙈 i knew I'd find my people on here though!!

No. No random order. Just start with book one and work your way through

I’m guessing from the last book that Mor is going to end up in a relationship with Emerie.

Then it would just be Azriel and Gwynth but I bet it won’t be that easy

I'm definately team Elaine and Azriel... Maybe Lucien will end up with someone from Bryce's world?

I think Eris will have a redemption arc, there's more to him than we have seen.

And we think Ruhn is relayed to Rhys right?

@bryceQ I agree! I really see Elain and Azriel together - there's definitely chemistry there! I hope Lucien finds someone too - I did wonder about Vassa, the other Queen who turns in to the fire bird? I think there's definitely a link between Ruhn and Rhys! Agree with Eris too, I want to hate him but feel there's more to him

For a curveball - it feels like Elaine would suit living at the spring court... But it would be weird for her to end up with Tamlin 😂 I wouldn't want to be with someone who'd had sex with my sister. I do wonder if he will get more of a storyline. I think he wasn't as bad as everyone makes out but that's a controversial opinion

@bryceQ Hahaha I can totally see what you mean - all the foliage and flowers, very Elain!! And I also agree with you on Tamlin. I really disliked him during Mist & Fury, and I was so angry with him by the end of Thorns & Roses as he just seemed to give zero effort. But, by the third book I felt sorry for him - and recognised that actually he played a huge part in them escaping during their rescue of Elain! I do think he deserves a redemption, he has just as much trauma as the rest of them!

I would recommend to stick with the order of the books. i didnt read all the prequels as you don’t need to and i did skip one book in the series ‘tower of dawn’ as i despised the character and did not want to read a whole book about them, you dont really need to read that one book either to continue the throne of glass series either, its just a massive 600 filler 🤣 you get the main jist of it in the next book of the series anyways.

Definitely read it. I much prefered throne of glass storyline to acotar one but i loved the acotar characters more.

There is definitely something with Eris that must be explained. I mean, yeah he left Mor at the border but he also knew she didn’t want to be mated to him. It was a case of being cruel to be kind.

I liked Tower Of Dawn.

Yeah it’s a filler book as it doesn’t contain the “main” characters from the others, but it’s still worth a read.

I'm basing that observation on them both being sexy. Dark haired. And having shadows. 😂

Yea definitely related in some way, esp as Bryce felt like she recognised him.

its been a whole since i finished them but i remember i had a lot of theories for the crossovers 🤣

i remember thinking Amren is probably somehow linked to One of the books (maybe TOG)

also the tog readers, how badly do you want a Manon book 😩

Is it coincidence about the autumn king in CC? It cant be. That he seems like the autumn king in ACOTR.

It's hard to keep track of the theories as I forget all the plot twists and I don't want to ruin TOG for the OP!

@Covetthee @bryceQ eeek I'm ordering them on amazon as we speak!!! I can't wait to start them - they'll fill a Sarah J Maas hole for me 🤣. I think it is almost certain Ruhn is related to Rhys in some way - definitely remember Bryce saying he felt familiar and looked like Ruhn his eyes are the same colour? I feel like Amren is connected with the Asteri in some way? I keep trying desperately to avoid ToG spoilers, they keep coming up on my social media reels!! I'm sure I'll have more theories once I've read them all!

I'm nervous for some of our characters, I feel like we're going to lose some people!! I keep seeing theories about Cassian dying - I would be heartbroken!! I also keep seeing theories about Bryce not being mated with Hunt anymore, sort of a Tamlin situation (praying not, I LOVE Hunt and Bryce! They're my 2nd Rhys and Feyre!).

So many thoughts! I also really want Sarah to comment on when she's going to release the next ACOTAR book - although appreciate we've probably got quite a wait! I really hope it's from Azriel's perspective 🤞

TOG is very different. It's a slower start for me but shit gets crazy later on! And so many good characters! Enjoy! I'm jealous you're reading for the first time haha

Me too. But I always appreciate it when authors are willing to sacrifice significant characters. There's nothing worse than reading a battle scene or a dramatic fight and knowing everyone is going to be ok as the author refuses to kill off anyone of importance. 🤣

Also forth wing was mentioned above. It got me over my CC2 book hangover. I read a lot of crap in between, but this was the first one that I actually found myself enjoying.
