Any fiction books about fame, the fashion industry or music industry you'd recommend

Daisy and the Six is good. A novel, I think it's roughly based on Fleetwood Mac.

Fashion Babylon

Whilst fiction, its pulled together from little snippets from real fashion industry insiders (apparently). I remember it being pretty bloody funny...

The Idea of You is about a woman who has a very hot fling with a member of a hugely famous boy band. It's very much focused on the glamour and glitzy locations across the globe, but also the way his fame impacts everything. Hero is based on Harry Styles and it's thinly disguised fanfic but actually very well written!

I came to suggest Daisy Jones and the six too. I really enjoyed it

Chart Throb by Ben Elton is a very thinly disguised satire on The X-Factor. Totally cynical and very funny.

Greatest Hits by Laura Barnett

Another vote for Chart Throb

Everyone is going to suggest Daisy Jones & The Six. Personally, I thought it was a terrible book and have no interest in watching the series.

I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. An eye-opener about child stardom. I’ve just read it in one sitting.

Viv Albertine’s (guitarist with The Slits) books. Clothes, clothes, clothes…… is particularly good.

It's a long time since I read either of them but Powder by Kevin Sampson or Career Girls by Louise Bagshawe (Mensch) might fit the bill?
The Devil Wears Prada?

Just ordered -beauty- by Louise mensch from eBay, I have a few books to read before then. Don't have enough 'reading time' with three small kids.

Sticky Fingers, by Joe Hagan, about Rolling Stone founder Jan Wenner and the music of the sixties-seventies, is fantastic.

Fashionably Late by Olivia Goldsmith is quite fun!

Have you read Pop Babylon? That one's about the music industry.

I've read that book many moons ago. I enjoyed the book at the time.

I liked The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Not the kind of book of normally read, but it was a gift and I was pleasantly surprised.

I think all of Taylor Jenkins Reid's books are about fame/celebrity actually.

Scabby Queen by Kirsten Innes, covers 40 years in the life of Cleo Campbell, pop star with one hit, activist, dismissed in middle age as a Has Been ranter.
It’s told by people who knew her and so you get their interpretations of what they wanted/needed her to be.

Espedair Street by Iain Banks. The rise of a band and the rivalries within it.
