@TattiePants

Was typing out what I'd tried and got Us-Fin!

Still not getting Dog, Apple or Ladder

I've tried The Peel, The Core and The Skin

I've even tried Hound Of The Baskervilles

What annoys me most is I bet I have read it and I will be fuming

Got the peeling counter

walkersareback · 10/11/2022 23:22

Got everything except the apple- please help

TattiePants · 10/11/2022 23:22

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit the Apple one is a (crap) play on words but it’s written by the same author as the other books I mentioned. What is the first thing you would do to a cooking apple if you were going to cook with it? There’s another clue on the table but you can’t see it when magnified. It’s a legal term.

Ladder, I’m sure you’ll have read it, in fact I’m sure it’s been discussed recentlyish on the 50 book thread. Classic novel but also a very famous song from the 80s. If you climb a ladder you are very xxxxx up plus what’s the weather like up there?

drspouse · 10/11/2022 23:24

Just one left! The woman with the bows and arrows on her shirt.

TattiePants · 10/11/2022 23:27

@drspouse think of a famous person from history (mythology) that was shot with a bow & arrow (they were shot on a particular part of their foot).

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/11/2022 23:27

@TattiePants

Got The Apple, but what an awful clue!

Thanks for your help

walkersareback · 10/11/2022 23:31

Got them all! Thank you so much for your help ladies

Lurleene · 10/11/2022 23:46

Stuck on the peeling desk but got the rest. Only took me about 5 hours 😴

It tickles me how what is obvious to some is tricky to others and vice versa.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/11/2022 23:48

@Lurleene

Desk is googlable off a clue by TattiePants

VittysCardigan · 10/11/2022 23:57

Stuck on the countries & the playing card

TattiePants · 11/11/2022 00:02

@VittysCardigan if you magnify the clue for the playing card it’s literally say what you see. I only got it because the song of the same name immediately came into my head.

For the countries, one book is different from the others plus what do all the other books have in common? They are all……. (You’ve already said it).

VittysCardigan · 11/11/2022 00:10

Finished! Thank you @TattiePants I thought the card was too obvious so hadn't even tried it Grin and had tried several variations on the countries answer but missed the correct one. I can sleep now.

narrucO1 · 11/11/2022 01:55

It is a person, not a dog and he's a long way from Norway, but you got the ptofession

narrucO1 · 11/11/2022 02:07

I got tie-dye man from a clue I saw, "I could give you a clue to tie-dye man but it would be Pointless!"

StrangerOnline · 11/11/2022 07:09

Thanks for the clues… some of these were hard! (For the books I hadn’t heard of 😂)

narrucO1 · 11/11/2022 07:53

I have got all except the little and big life books - can anybody help please ?

CaptainMyCaptain · 11/11/2022 07:53

narrucO1 · 11/11/2022 01:55

I didn't get this until I forgot about the Norway clue and focused on the breed of dog. Maybe it's because I am familiar with the title but not read the book.

CaptainMyCaptain · 11/11/2022 07:54

narrucO1 · 11/11/2022 07:53

I have got all except the little and big life books - can anybody help please ?

One is big and one is little.

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 08:29

"I have got all except the little and big life books - can anybody help please ?"

narrucO1 · 11/11/2022 08:41

Thanks for your help but I think I've tried every combination of big/small etc and I may have confused myself but I still can't get there.

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 08:45

Put literally the bolded words in and you'll get a "nearly there"

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 08:46

Or Google those two words then book and it shows up

anexcellentwoman · 11/11/2022 08:46

Got them all except travel books. Any clues?

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 08:50

@anexcellentwoman the first word is literally written on one of the books, the second is what each of the other books cover.

CaptainMyCaptain · 11/11/2022 08:59

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 08:46

Or Google those two words then book and it shows up

I got a few answers this way - [word] [word] book.
