Maybe you'll meet some nice people at the group though Fairy and then it will be nice to go. I went to one group when I was travelling on Oz and made a couple of lovely friends. I'd stay for the whole meeting (not just weigh in) and chat to a few people afterwards and see if there are any kindred spirits. Or just go and then come and bitch on here about the leader Grin

I started this week- doing it online though.

I'm a recovering agrophobe so sitting in a crowded room would be quite uncomfortable at the moment.

Need to lose about 5 stone, type 2 diabetes runs in my family so need to start shaping up.

I found out that I have lactose intolerance- so once I cut out all the cheese, creamy sauces, pizza, and pasta bakes smothered in cheese I lost a stone in just under 6 weeks without even trying so decided if I could lose a stone without trying how much could I lose if I actually try.

Means I struggle with the 2 portions of dairy WW recommend- soy milk is utterly utterly vile. I have a soy yogurt with my breakfast that isn't too bad but think that will just have to do.

Grats on all the week 1 weight loss!!

LapsedTwentysomething · 14/08/2014 09:41

A George Foreskin grill?

I have the feeling I need to basically be on WW forever for it to work. Have used it v successfully in the past but once I stop counting, the weight comes back on (that's how they make their money, of course)

I think the problem is slipping back into patterns that made us gain weight in the first place. There are more points for maintenance aren't there? No idea how many though. Once I've got into the swing of this I'm going to cut the cost by using the free app available on iPhone. It's just as good as the official WW one which is all I'm using at the moment anyway.

Indeed, lapsed. In my case, eating healthily mostly, then binging on crap Sad. Really need to break that cycle and learn how to eat one biscuit then put the packet away...

bishboschone · 18/08/2014 21:34

Can I join in? I started last week . I'm doing simple start . Anyone else ?

MercuryRising · 19/08/2014 08:18

Welcome bishboschone I am going to be doing filling and healthy starting today. I did propoints this last week and don't think I have lost anything as I am more inclined to over eat. Have you followed the plan before?

bishboschone · 19/08/2014 08:45

I'm ashamed to say I'm a gold member but that was in 2005 and I have had a son with sn since then and also my dad died after a long illness so I have had no time for myself . I started on the simple start and have found it pretty easy and stuck to it 100% so fingers crossed I have lost.. When I did it last time I did no count , is this what you are all referring to as filling and healthy ? I preferred it I think . With points I find I panic and eat too much or not enough.Shock

MercuryRising · 19/08/2014 19:55

I think filling and healthy is the old no count. Well done for getting to gold - I got about 4 pounds away ftom gold in 2007, became complacent, stopped going to meetings and piled it all back on Sad
I am determined that I will get to goal this time! I lost a pound this week which I am happy with. I need to lose 14 pounds more to lose 10% so my first goal is to do that before Christmas.

How is everybody else getting on?

mopsytop · 19/08/2014 20:13

I think OK! I'm snacking less and eating way less sugar!

MercuryRising · 20/08/2014 08:40

Well done Mopsy!

Toomuchjiggleinmywiggle · 20/08/2014 09:58

HelloSmile I'm sitting in the car park about to go into my first "proper" weigh in! Yikes. I will let you know how I do. Found this week pretty easy- it's just highlighted how crap i was eating!

mopsytop · 20/08/2014 10:16

I can't lose weight really cos am pregnant so is a bit hard. But I think I am defs more conscious of avoiding crap. Good luck with weigh-in!

MercuryRising · 20/08/2014 10:16

Good luck toomuchjiggleinmywiggle - love the user name by the waySmile

Toomuchjiggleinmywiggle · 20/08/2014 10:30

5.5 off Grin very happy but know first week is probably a lot of water weight . Either way it will keep me motivated this week!

mopsytop · 20/08/2014 10:31

Ooh well done! That's fab!

Toomuchjiggleinmywiggle · 20/08/2014 10:32

Thanks! I'm hoping I will need to change it before too long mercury Wink

MercuryRising · 20/08/2014 10:42

Sounds like you will - well doneGrin

JustAShopGirl · 20/08/2014 10:48

I'm starting online this week - I cried when I had to fill in my weight. I am heavier than I ever was. - NOT GOOD

Doing online because last time I went to a meeting it felt so patronising with the bikini comments - yeah right - I'm 50 and fat I really want to be "bikini ready" !! and the cut down on the booze but still have a tipple sometimes... I don't drink, but the rest of the group seemed focussed on stuff like that.

Toomuchjiggleinmywiggle · 20/08/2014 11:07

I'm 5'5 and when I weighed in last week 13 stone 3 I wanted to cry. Heaviest I have ever been, when not pregnant, but I just told myself that I won't be that weight again. I have a sweet tooth and as much as I love cooking and good food I also love a good bit of junk food ! I'm staying away from it. That said this week I did have a normal sized bar of chocolate and a small Chinese meal and still lost. It's moderationSmile

mopsytop · 20/08/2014 11:12

Yeah I'm not too great at moderation jiggle and that's where I want to get to ... the point where I can have just one small bar, enjoy it and not eat three in a row!

Toomuchjiggleinmywiggle · 20/08/2014 12:23

Yeah it is where I struggle most too but this last week has been a revelation to be honest. I'm an emotional water, it's my trigger wether I'm happy or sad. But it's always justified as "I'm hungry" . I can honestly say this week I haven't really been hungry once

bishboschone · 20/08/2014 16:33

I'm going for my first weigh in tonight.. I may stay on simple start if it's like no count because I really got on with it well last time .

bishboschone · 20/08/2014 19:26

I lost 6 pounds !! Smile

Toomuchjiggleinmywiggle · 20/08/2014 19:38

Well done! Did you do simple start or point?

MercuryRising · 20/08/2014 19:39

Wow! Great job!!
