Yes but Aitch if you're not on this thread constantly and you have 50 posts to catch up on, some of which you want to respond to for whatever reason, you do end up with a listing of names and responses. Tis a function of the fact everyone posts so blardy much and you're all just so goddamn interesting

Happy to be ignored or not as it goes. What I post is generally of little or no consequence anyways... You were bloody brave planning camping in Scotland in early May. My one and only experience of camping was camping lite in a teepee in Herefordshire when preggers with DS2 - rained 5 out of the 7 days and was freezing - in fricking August. And couldnt even anaesthetise myself against the cold with red wine. Gah.

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 01/05/2010 21:00

Travelodge meet up? Now that sounds like something we should all be aspiring to.

Will be on look out for bikini.

chibi · 01/05/2010 21:02

Bloody hell jack well done you

that must feel v v encouraging

MailyDail · 01/05/2010 21:03

it was supposed to be seven degrees overnight, which would have been fine with a bobble hat. but in fact was -1.

i know what you mean, i do find myself saying 'well done losers' because have forgotten name of actual person by the time i'm finished, but it's a small price to pay imo not to get quite so embroiled as poor old shiney and crew.

and on that note... well done losers (and jackb). i'm booking the premier inn, see if i don't.

pointydog · 01/05/2010 21:06

I am sick of being 11 2.

I have tried hard today (2 rollmop herrings for breakfast, that is how committed I ma) cause we are going out for curry tomorrow.

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:09

Jack - that is fricking fantastic. Keep up the amazing work Missus.

-1! Blardy hell - no wonder you cancelled the camping trip. We've gone camping extra-light for the summer - keycamp mobile home in France. DH still trying to convince me to give camping a go again

Currently watching W. on dvd - it is excellent (whilst pandering to my preconceived notions of W of course...)

EricPicklesFatNeck · 01/05/2010 21:11

lol ' coco's gran and the free bus pass. as i said on the other thread 'free state' is so vintage. bit like old codgers who talk about 'the continent'

EricPicklesFatNeck · 01/05/2010 21:12

whoo hoo! jack you are amazing!

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:13

Eric - my dad still calls Sri Lanka Ceylon - and Mumbai Bombay and any other number of other places by their old names. Tis an old person thing. When I start calling places by their old names, that's when I officially will know I'm past it...

MailyDail · 01/05/2010 21:16

i confess i haven't quite caught up with mumbai yet, i don't suppose it crops up in conversation often enough round my way.

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:26

Fair enough Aitch - doent really crop up in day to day convos . We have family over there though and dad goes back there every couple of years so one would have thought it would filter into his consciousness somehow. Mind you he still calls council tax poll tax so I rather suspect he's stuck in the 1980s (which could be useful if we're heading back to there economically ). I guess I should just be grateful that he doesnt call Bangladesh Eastern India....

Honestly W. is brilliant. The actors are fabulous in it...

MailyDail · 01/05/2010 21:28

oh god i say poll tax and occasionally call the lib dems the sdp. i think i'm eighty years old, sometimes.

cocolepew · 01/05/2010 21:30

Every time I hear Instanbul I sing "Not Constantinople" I'm propr old.

MailyDail · 01/05/2010 21:34

lol they might be giants. well, they might be... (they weren't).

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:35

Aitch - you and my dad would have a grand time nattering Mum & dad are off to China in two weeks for a 3 week trip - I really dread to think what diplomatic incidents they are going to trigger while they are over there, bless them. Mum has made dad get the big suitcase down from the attic for all the meds they have to take with them just in case. Bless.

Dog - would say try exercise (in moderation so doesnt cause biffing) but know you're not keen on that. To shift a plateau keep the faith, avoid the sugar filled no good for you foods (see below) and drink lots of water and you will shift.

Have admission while Su is off partying - I biffed big style yesterday. Whole fricking pack of Maom's - sugar high par extraordiaire - for no reason at all (well slight work stress and annoyance with colleagues but no real reason) - and then suffered sugar crash from 5 onwards. Been v virtuous today though so if havent pullled it back at least have got back into non sugar high territory.

MailyDail · 01/05/2010 21:37

we would deffo natter. it's the verb of the elderly chatterer.
is su off at cyb's party? CLEAK.

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:41

Yep - she was one of the only ones on the thread to be invited not really - though liked the idea of chops in cones

My dad was a GP - retired last month finally. Most of the GPs had slots of 5 minutes a go to see patients - Dad had special 15 minute slots to cater for his nattering. Lol. He had a Diana Styleee mass mourning thing going on among patients when he announced his retirement. V proud

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:55

Coco - how are the ribs feeling today?

cocolepew · 01/05/2010 22:05

Not too bad thanks. I don't think it's broke now but I've pulled all the muscles underneath. I'm too old to be wrestling around the floor (so I keep telling DH ).

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 22:08

Glad they're feeling better Coco - definitely points at them being bruised rather than broken but still ouch big style. Bet DH was v envious of you floor wrestling....

MailyDail · 01/05/2010 22:11

how are you feeling emotionally? it must have been quite a shock. i hope you're doing okay.

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 22:30

Ugh - just come across a fat bloody mouse running around in our kitchen... again... I swear the DC are in league with the vermin leaving crumbs around in places I've already cleaned up. Nice to know the £££s electronic vermin scarer-away alarm was worth it Right am off to bed to let the vermin roam free and have their merry way....
