I bought chicken thighs with skin on. How would you cook them?

NomDePlume · 27/03/2010 16:34

a likely story.

DH cooked the food for ours. I sat on my arse talking biscuit pigs and bees with you lot. Bonus

NomDePlume · 27/03/2010 16:35

roast them in the oven (skin on) but remove skin for eating or do them in a casserole thing skin off.

SuSylvester · 27/03/2010 16:35

well take the skin off

rub wiht a tiny bit of oil and then either a spice rub or paprika or lemon olive oil andgarlic wiht a herb

NomDePlume · 27/03/2010 16:40

no oil required for cooking, they will produce a lot oil and juices themselves. The skin will stop the meat from drying out and the majority of the fat will run off into the baking tray anyway (do them on a rack in the tray if you can so they are not sat in the fat). The skin will be all crispy when cooked so will come off v easily.

cyb · 27/03/2010 16:41

well you come and take the skin off then

NomDePlume · 27/03/2010 16:41

if on a rack and no oil used, the added fat should be minimal, Su.

cocolepew · 27/03/2010 16:49

How much do you think a shingle weights? maybe that's why I've not lost anything, because my body is GROWING MORE BITS!!!!

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 17:15

Grill them, scoff the skin, throw away the chicken. Sorted.

Ds still poorly here, he's gone to bed already so god knows what time he will be up in the morning.

Salmon and roast veg for tea here tonight. Anyone suggest a tasty way of roasting veg - normally just drizzle with olive oil?

ConnieComplaint · 27/03/2010 18:18

Finally caught up.

Well, I started last January, and have lost steadily from then, but am finally almost there.

Yes, it has changed my life, in simple ways really. I'm much more confident in work, I wear clothes that I wouldn't have worn before.

I'm fitting into a size 12 now when I was squeezing into a 16 before... I have started to do more exercise, a spin class twice a week, a toning class when I have time (my sister teaches both so I just go to her & she puts me through my paces) I have also just started to run to try & shift the last of the weight, which they say is the hardest!

I don't have back hamsters though (should've seen dh's face when I asked him if I had...)

Anyway, I'm not going to bore you all. (sorry if I already have!!)
