cocolepew · 28/03/2010 17:32

Did you see my supergrass thread? I'll probably be in witness protection by tomorrow. I'm going to ask for my new identity to be thin.

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 17:32

Ooh, Su, I tried tilapia yesterday.

I had it pan fried with a teeny bit of olive oil and lemon juice with an asparagus and herb salad, with a couple of garlicky roasted new potatoes. I poured the lemony juices all over the salad.

It was gorgeous, like meatier plaice.

cocolepew · 28/03/2010 17:32

we noticed cyb that's all that matters

SuSylvester · 28/03/2010 17:33

mmmmm

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 17:34

I like the choc on creme eggs but not the middle bit.

It was delish, but I've no idea how to pronounce it. I just pointed.

MamaGoblin · 28/03/2010 18:09

Local Waitrose stopped doing Tilapia. 'No call for it'. (Also, they stopped doing salmon steaks - only fillays - and I moaned about it - 'steaks have all the flavour' (because of the FAT) and was told same thing. Not that this is a problem now, of course, ahem.)

Ok, I got off the wagon briefly at lunchtime. We went to a 'lambing weekend' at a local farm with DS and afterwards, appropriately enough, there were delicious-smelling lamb burgers.

First DH had one. DS ate most of it, so we had to get another one. Then I caved and had one (most of one - DS was being v voracious and grabby). And then I had some of a v v small 'Simnel Cupcake' (fruitcake with added lard and marzipan).

But I am back now and won't do it again.

SuSylvester · 28/03/2010 18:39

lamb burgers
that is just wrong

duckyfuzz · 28/03/2010 18:39

MIL's for lunch roast lamb etc - you'd think I'd have eaten loads, but she always under caters, I compensated with booze, so v small piece lamb, 2 tiny roasties, over cooked broccoli, aunt betty's yorkshire and about 5 glasses wine...oops

SuSylvester · 28/03/2010 18:40

those waitrose fish foil bags are great though if you work

couldnt be easier

OH GOD I AM OFF THE WAGON.

easter egg hunt in friend's garden. not conducive to atkins, not enough real eggs. had forgotten how heavenly chocolate is.

duckyfuzz · 28/03/2010 18:45

in fact I think moving in with MIL may be the way forward for weight loss

how SIL has ended up the size she is is a mystery to me

MamaGoblin · 28/03/2010 18:47

They were fantastic, Su.

I get looks from some of my friends because DS (2) says 'cluck cluck' when I give him chicken.

SuSylvester · 28/03/2010 18:47

YOU FAT MUNTER AITCH

OP posts:
MamaGoblin · 28/03/2010 18:48

LeSinge, what on earth are you doing hunting for easter eggs already? Tis LENT, woman!

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 28/03/2010 18:50

they're canadian. it's not been a good month for us catholics, i think a lot of us have hit the chocolate early.

MamaGoblin · 28/03/2010 18:58

Do Canadians do easter early then?

I'm trying not to think about all the easter chocolate I've bought and hidden. Should have asked DH to hide it.

dinkystinky · 28/03/2010 18:58

Fell off the wagon too Lesinge - headfirst into a slice of beetroot and hazelnut cake (but DH shared it with me). - blaming it on weakness caused by sleep deprived state. But it was worth it!

Now back in zone - tuna steak and salad for dinner and absolutely no trying to nab bits of the DSs easter eggs...

MamaGoblin · 28/03/2010 19:00

Beetroot and hazelnut?? What does that taste like?

SuSylvester · 28/03/2010 19:02

there is a owman on that ironing thread who irons for 5 hours on a sunday

OP posts:
bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 19:05

Erm...beetroot and hazelnut, MamaGoblin?

CheeeseOnToast · 28/03/2010 19:09

Su! Think I just found u on Twitter. Were you behind the creme egg post, RT'd by someone? My names S***dotcom.

Bad day diet-wise. DP returned home a week early from his work overseas trip. Something bad happened to a colleague (won't say more in case his wife is a MNer). But DP is very shaken and upset so I've been cooking him comfort food all day. I didn't go too wild though. I had four table water biscuits with smidge of ardenne pate. Then pasta for dinner (I only had one scoop of pasta from the pan, half a normal persons portion). I've had two glasses of red. I needed those.

Last night I had two Birds Eye vegetable fingers with a mountain of peas. Not the healthiest dinner but I was consoling a v upset DP

oh and today i had cheerios for brekf and a bowl of red grapes for lunch with cherry toms and cucumber. Grapes were the desert!

Hope everyones weekends are going ok?

dinkystinky · 28/03/2010 19:10

Absolutely bloody lovely - think they grated the beetroot in as the cake only had purple shreds in it with pieces of hazelnut (though the icing was purple so maybe the beetroot was in there). Quite sweet (but not overly sweet) and nutty aftertaste. Is a cake stall at the local farmers market which does all kinds of cakes on Sundays which I normally avoid like the plague but couldnt find the strength today.

at ironing woman. I dont iron at all - she could come round and do mine too if she finds herself at a loss of things to do for the other 19 hours of sunday...
