1st March - Time for a new thread

We can now forget/capitalise on the first two difficult months. The lighter mornings are upon us, soon the sun will be shining more and more and it will become warmer. Time to start thinking about the spring wardrobe...

Come on ladies, lets go for it, Summer will be here before we know it, and we want to enjoy it don't we?

I have copied the stats from the last weigh in, I have put the Jan start weight first, and the last weight that was posted, so update as necessary I have taken off a couple of people I haven't seen in a while, apologies if you are still checking, please say hello and add yourself to the stats again, as well as anyone else who would like to join.

Hello ladies, great news with all the losses.

I have been away all weekend, but will have blown any kind of weight loss due to being stupid and enjoying myself far too much!

I still haven't weighed in yet, 13 days left to weigh in and nothing planned for next weekend so I shall have a really good run now without spoiling it next week. I am really really hoping to be 10 stone something by then and will be doing loads of exercise in the next two weeks.

tessieb · 29/03/2009 20:59

Hi Lisa. How often do you weigh yourself? I get weighed and measured every Sunday morning (before I have anything to eat or drink!) and wouldn't like to wait longer than a week between weigh-ins. The race is on to get into the 10s!

LisaLessLumpy · 29/03/2009 21:06

Hi tessie

I was getting obsessed with weighing myself and was jumping on morning and night, so I got DH to hide the scales. That was 4 weeks ago. I will weigh myself on the 11th April which will be 6 weeks, I am hoping to have averaged a half pound a week, seeing as I have had two weekends away and two entertaining weeks during that time, as I always spoil it on the Saturday nights and that should hopefully just nudge me into the 10stones as last time I weighed myself I was 11st 3.8 on my scales

countesscaloriecounter · 29/03/2009 21:38

You've got great willpower Lisa. There's no way I wouldn't be able to weigh myself at least once a week! Can't wait to hear how much you've lost.

tessieb · 29/03/2009 22:03

Lisa - I certainly couldn't wait 6 weeks before getting weighed! Hope it's a good result on the 11th April.

JustKeepSwimming · 30/03/2009 08:58

Great willpower Lisa!!
I couldn't do it.

Well the Wii last night still said 9,0 (i did it quickly before tea as i was eating with the DCs) but said i have 6lbs to lose to reach 8,7 so that's almost 8,13 surely!

And the upstairs scales said 8,11 this morning...plus fat % still dropping, in the 27% now

Will see if i can be good today at work (tricky with a sweet shop across the road, lol) and see what the Wii says tonight....

Keep going everyone, new week, new targets!

MrsMattie · 30/03/2009 09:04

Hey everyone. I haven't been on for a long time and know I haven't been giving much support to others, but just had a quick peruse and great to hear you are mostly doing brilliantly and that lots of the old regulars (Lisa, tessie, Countingthe etc) are still here

Just updating my stats - only 1lb left and i'll have lost 2 stone, yippee! Only 8 lbs left until I reach my target weight.

It's funny, my appetite and attitude to food has completely changed since we started this in January. I am comfort eating a lot less and have gone off fast food . Never thought it would happen

Keep up the good work all xxx

MaryAnnSailors · 31/03/2009 10:15

Fabbo JKS! In fact, well done all round on those losses!!!

I've had guests coming out of my ears over the weekend and busy getting back to normal yesterday- so it's been lovely and rather hectic - entertaining isn't great for the waistline for me. Hurumph!

I'm finding it very difficult to stay on track and move forward as i'm not particularly happy with the no walking advice from physio and becoming complacent about what is going into my body.

I need to have a rethink about what i want to get out of my big shrink!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 31/03/2009 12:30

MaryAnn - having central heating fitted this week so sorry not been in touch.

Just read thru and realise why this thread is so fantastic. Am checking in every single day from on I promise.

This truly is one of the best weight loss threads. I feel really motivated now. I was contemplating going back to my WW meetings as I am being really not very good at sticking to it and have crept up a little agian. Not going to post stats till Friday when hopefully I will at least be back at 9.10 which wasmy last post.

Just being really bad with bingeing on biccies and things whereas before I had got over it. Will see how I go up to my Race for Life date in May by myself with you lovelyladies for support and if i am being rubbish may go back as it seemed to work then.

Gym is going great tho and am using it as an excuse to eat the things I shouldnt. I have notcied a difference with my body since joining tho and do feel like i am toning and i think my body has changed shape since before DSs so not sure if 8.7 will suit me anymore.

When I hit 10 stone from being slim I thought I looked awful, but now i am just a little under 10 stone and i feel fab, so weird.

Well done on all the fab weightlosses.

tessieb · 31/03/2009 12:59

Fantastic, JKS!

Oh, MaryAnn (can't believe the number of name changes!), so sorry to hear about your health problems. No walking must be tough as I remember you used to get quite a bit of exercise that way. Could you try pilates or gentle swimming? Don't give up and undo all you've achieved with weightloss so far. You can do it!!! Are you still listening to PMK.

Mixedmama, glad you are feeling so well. This thread is so supportive, isn't it?

I'm still using the weightloss resources website and still finding it fantastic. I've just lowered my calorie allowance a little to aim for a 2 lb a week loss, and am finding it ok as long as I fit in some exercise to 'earn' extra calories. After all, it's just 7.5 weeks till I'll be in my swimming costume!!!

I feel so much better, slimmer, lighter and more toned but NO ONE'S NOTICED YET!!!

Hope you're all having a good day.

Jack2601 · 31/03/2009 13:16

Hi all, sorry not been on for a while. Can I just share how totally knackered I am (I know this isn't the sleep forum, but I'm hoping as you guys are so nice you might be able to sympathise). Last night DS settled like a dream for DH from 8pm to midnight, he then woke for his feed and I finally got him settled at...........3.30am after another bottle(only for him to get up again at 6am for another feed). I am praying that he is going through some kind of a growth spurt (9 weeks old, but was 7 weeks prem). Recently he's being doing really well, waking up at 11pm (ish) and then 2/3 (ish) and then sleeping til 6/7 (ish). I am shattered today. DH is at work so I do all of the settling in the nursery so he can at least get some sleep - I look totally gorgeous today by the way!!

Anyway, moan over. On a happier note I have crawled under the 10stone mark. I got weighed this morning and the scales stopped at 9st 13!!!!!!!! It is coming off, (very) slowly but surely!!

Hope we are all okay. Congrats on the losses to everyone. I haven't managed to catch up on all the posts as I've missed last week so there are sooooo many.

Well done everyone from me too...

I know what you mean mixedmama...i used to think 10 stone was big but it is my DREAM now!! In fact, I will be overjoyed to even get back into the 10 stone somethings.

I know it's not very exciting but I find the best/only exercise I can do with 2 small kids is to go for a run when they've gone to bed. Just a little jog around the block takes up no time and does make you feel so much better (plus if the kids are not settling then it's not my problem, it's his!!). After a day at home with a baby and a toddler, I even somtimes look forward to going for a run - it's quick and it's free. I recommend it. x

MaryAnnSailors · 31/03/2009 14:11

It's true, this is a great thread!

Mixedmama glad to hear you're getting your heating sorted! How's the belly dancing going? Wintersun also!?

I do name change a lot Tessieb ... generally, if i come across a similar name, or if i have to post anything sensitive, or just feeling like wearing a different hat!!! Just letting you know there'll probably be at least a dozen more before the thread is through.. double . I stopped listening to PMK when the walking started to ease off as that was when i did it... i have to find another routine. You're right - I can't give up! Thank you for that kick!

Funny you should mention pilates, my physio gave me a load of exercises that i'd been doing to strengthen up, but last week told me there had been a study published very recently indicating that it isn't effective and not to bother with them any more. She was very disappointed herself, as she had trained and spent much £ on training. She's given me other kinetic strenghtening exercises. Pilates is big business, so it's a bit of a shake up in the industry.

I completely sympathise Jack. I think the no sleep thing is the toughest part of parenting so far. It can be so dire as it effects everything. I'm waking 6 or 7 times a night thanks to the joys of choosing to cosleep and nurse. I can't seem to get the knack of sleeping while he's feeding. I've got much better at dealing with it in my everyday life - but i am def more snappy/dozy than i used to be. BRILLIANT news on hitting the 9's!

That's a great plan and not a little clever Luckymoray! It must feel fantastic to be out and about by yourself after a long day! Would be great for sleeping too.

Okay! PMK is on now... i'm going to lie back and let him do the talking...

countesscaloriecounter · 31/03/2009 14:36

Hi everyone

Just checking in and it's great to see lots of chatting going on.

I've been good so far after my roast dinner and cake with cream on Sunday , and have just done a bit more on the bike to try and ditch some more of the flab. It's a lovely day today which freaks me out thinking I will soon have to bare arms and legs for the summer. Yikes!

LisaLessLumpy · 31/03/2009 15:46

Hello everyone

I have done 30 mins on the XT this morning and am just about to get on and do some more. I have just been dozing on the sofa for the past hour whilst ds2 is in bed as I just feel so very tired and struggling to keep my eyes open but he will wake up very shortly so I am hoping the exercise will wake me up a bit to be able to finish off the day. NOt sure why I feel so tired I have had two good nights sleep, the best in over a month, perhaps that is why? I had got used to about 5 hours broken sleep but have had nearly 8 the past two nights, I think the weekend had caught up with me, perhaps I am still [playing catch up?

Right ds2 is awake, gotta go, think I'll jump on the XT for another 15 mins and maybe another 15 when DH gets home, that will make an hour for today, aswell as 15 mins of leg exercises and sit ups I did earlier. I have a 4 finger kitkat and half a pkt of choc buttons to burn off stupid me I just couldn't resist as was feeling so tired.

Great news on all the weight losses and a big up to all of you still hanging on and doing your best. I so hope I have some sort of loss when I weigh in

mixedmamameansbusiness · 31/03/2009 16:14

Luckymoray - I have started jogging recently as prep for a small charity race, have neever run before and do really enjoy it altho seem to be getting more on the treadmill at the moment than outside. Managed 2km today which i was very pleased with but need to get to 5km with ease.

Am going to post food again as that helped me before:

2 low fat hot cross buns with low fat butter (bit of a treat like i need that)
Coffee and Cereal Bar
2 fresh sardines, green beans, carrots and tomatoes.

Only have 1.5 points left today and ate the sardines just 30 mins ago so wont need another meal, may just snack a little later on on some fruit or something. First day since the 5lb loss that I have stuck to it.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 31/03/2009 16:15

Lisa - i find your comittment to the XT amazing... it is my least fave piece of equipment.

WW registration is free and am wondering if i should amble on down this evening and join back up officially, the talks can be quite good.

Wintersun · 01/04/2009 09:10

Hello everyone. Sorry have been off here for a while. I'm just really busy for a while so I'm coming back 'properly' in a couple of weeks time.

I'm still maintaining and am finding it hard to lose the weight as I'm not in a routine at the moment. Hopefully, I'll be able to be more committed soon.

Well done to all of you exercising and losing weight.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 02/04/2009 09:57

just being another rathe rubbish week weighin in tomorrow so am throwing caution to the wind and am finishing everything tempting and then dh and i have agreed not to buy anymore biccies etc so startingfresh on saturday with a renewed determination.
