Weightloss advice?

charlielou90 · 21/11/2025 20:31

Hey all,

I really need some advice; I’m currently 21 stone 9 pounds, I’ve been trying to lose weight for 3 months, I have big boobs too which I hate 40LL, I can’t afford a breast reduction, I want to lose weight but nothing is helping! I’ve been to my GP, had my thyroids checked and everything is normal, I do around 6/7 thousands steps a day, “on a treadmill” I also have a 6 month old so limited to exercise I do as much as I can when baby is asleep or settled. I’ve not lost no weight since trying ! I’ve been eating healthy, not drinking fizzy drinks; not snacking junk foods, why am I not losing weight?? I can’t afford them weight loss jabs either.. any advice??? I would like to lose at least 3/4 stone and shrink my boobs! Please help x

What do you currently eat on a typical day? I've been trying to lose weight too but I've ended up just planning a day of meals I like which total 1200 cals and then just eating the same thing on repeat each day. Seems to be working for me so far

ResusciAnnie · 21/11/2025 20:38

Take measurements - I’m losing kgs slowly but cms very quickly.

See if GP will give you WLIs? Surely at 21 stone they will (although to be fair they didn’t when I was 18 stone)

Exercise:
Joe wicks
Walking workouts on YouTube (love these, I’ll come back with links if you want)
static bike (look on Facebook etc people always getting rid)

Food:
Eat half of whatever you usually eat.
I save half my dinner for lunch the next day.
Plate up what you normally would have then drown half of it in salt if you must (I did that whenever we ate out before my wedding).

The only time I’ve ever lost weight was for my wedding - 30 Day Shred mornin, lunchtime walk, evening cross trainer in front of the telly every night, every day and ate barely anything - and now on WLIs.

It’s so hard when you’re like us and do all the right things but nothing normal works!

2 crumpets for breakfast, lunch I’ll have either fruit and protein bar, and tea a salad, and I’ll snack on grapes or apple slices throughout the day, drinking lots of water too, ahhhh it’s so frustrating, I have way more energy then I did before wanting to lose weight, but I’m not losing anything at all x

My GP told me they can’t give me anything as I’ve not been overweight for years? They said if I can lose weight myself they can help me, but I’m trying my best and nothing is helping. It’s so frustrating! X

Are you actually hungry or eating for energy - you have a 6 month old, I certainly ate sugar as napping was not an option! Post partum is so complicated, it’s not just physical tiredness either but the mental load of motherhood and hormones of course too. I always gained after having a baby where those in my antenatal groups shrank so easily!

Could you pay attention to what your body actually wants? Like what if you spend a week just trying to listen to yourself before you eat? If you’re not like me then ignore that, but I eat without even thinking about it. Sometimes I actually need a sit down or a drink. I skip breakfast on days that I’m not hungry. Try and get more protein in maybe (but less UPF ie Greek yog instead of protein bar?).

SilenceInside · 21/11/2025 20:51

There's a difference between eating healthy, and carefully tracking your calories each day to make sure you are eating fewer calories than you need.

You can apps like MyFitnessPal, Nutracheck etc where you can log your food each day. You need to weigh and measure everything to begin with, so that you can work out how many calories you're actually eating. You need to be eating 500 calories less than you need each day to lose weight.

The GP won't prescribe WLI, regardless of your weight, as you also would need 4 out of 5 specific weight related health conditions too, like T2 diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high BP. It's a very limited number of people that might qualify for them on the NHS at the moment.

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 21/11/2025 20:51

It is hugely frustrating op, especially when you’ve made changes and are putting in effort.

What were you eating when you gained the weight?

What’s in your salad? What do you drink?

sunkissedandwarm · 21/11/2025 20:52

I failed everything until I found the Fast800. If that sounds like something you might be interested in, do discuss with your doctor before starting. It's not for everyone. I wouldn't consider it if you're still breastfeeding.

CleanandLight109 · 21/11/2025 21:03

Over 21 stone and cannot lose weight eating the diet you describe above is impossible. Unless your salad is a donor kebab x 3 on a bed of lettuce.
Ask yourself honestly is that REALLY what you are eating day in day out for a few months.
Breast feeding a six month old alone would burn off the calories in the food you describe.
What did you weigh before you got pregnant? How tall are you?

Birdie100 · 21/11/2025 21:05

I think you need to be honest with yourself. At 21 stone you must be eating about 5x what you’ve printed on here!

I’m being honest, this is why I’m so frustrated, my salads… lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pickled onions, and a little blob of mayonnaise. Also I am not breastfeeding, I should have added that. Sorry x

That’s just not true for some people. Hence some bodies only succeed with drugs.

This is me being honest. And this is why I’m so frustrated because I’m hardly eating, I’m not really hungry, I eat for energy, since having my baby I’ve not been that hungry, I drink a lot of water or green tea. I don’t breastfeed.

OP is there any way in the world you could give WLI a go? Before they helped me lose weight they massively reduced my inflammation and therefore my brain was calmer and my body felt MILES better before I’d even lost a gram. Therefore I slept better and therefore I didn’t need as much food in the day. Might help you just for like a 6 month reset or something?

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 21/11/2025 21:16

Do you have treats? A Saturday night chocolate in front of the tv, a takeaway, a latte when out and about?

Or every day for three months has been water, green tea, apples, crumpets and salad?

I’m not as hungry as I probably should be, I eat for energy yes.
this is why I’m so frustrated, I do drink a lot though. A lot of water and green tea. I’m a single mum , and want to do better for myself and my little girl. I hate my pictures being taken because I’m fat! I wear baggy clothes because I’m fat. I’m trying so hard and nothing is working. C

Treats I’d have a bag of crisps that’s about it. I don’t really do take aways. I’m so frustrated it’s unreal! X

I could look into it. Money is a little tight right now. What WLI is better? X

What about protein? There's no protein in that.

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 21/11/2025 21:23

It is frustrating!

I think ultimately, if this is the way you’ve been eating for 3 months and there has been zero weight loss, then you need to try a different method.

Im not seeing much protein in your daily intake? Do you eat meat or follow veggie/vegan diet?

SilenceInside · 21/11/2025 21:25

There’s little point in discussing how much you eat unless you’ve accurately weighed measured and tracked every single thing properly for a week or two.

That is very unusual and I notice you didn't answer what you weighed before you became pregnant and how tall you are. I am post menopause, a time when weightloss/preventing weight gain is harder but if I exercise more and eat less then I still lose weight. I do not understand how you can be eating less than 1000 Kcals per day and your TDEE must at that weight be twice mine ( you must be taller than I am) and you lose nothing in 3 months.
Even at my TDEE if I ate that I would lose 5lbs over 3 months and my BMI is 20.2 currently.

MsCactus · 21/11/2025 22:27

How long have you been dieting OP? I honestly dieted for a month eating 1000-1200 cals a day and lost NOTHING. But then the next week dropped 3 lb. Weight loss isn't consistent, but if you have faith and do it for long enough you will lose. If you're eating so little you might find yourself binging which then stops you losing weight, better to aim for a moderate calorie reduction that you can stick to for say six months a year and feel satiated with.

OR try weight loss jabs!

Auntmaud45 · 22/11/2025 08:14

Could the grapes and apples you snack on all day be spiking your blood sugar?
Try to eat three meals a day and nothing in between. Give that a go x

Your daily meal is completely sabotaging you. Starting with crumpets is not good. Protein bar is UPF

read The Human Being diet by Petronella (something like) Ranvenshear, follow that to the letter, and I guarantee you will lose as much weight as you want. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t
