Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️ Slimmimg September 2025⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Where did September go? There is a definite chill in the air some mornings now 🥶 I always feel when October is here it’s the start of the 12 week countdown to Christmas!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showing 9st 1lb this morning)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Thank you @TheRealHousewife 🥰

& They do have some good jigsaws. I might get this one (the link button doesn't seem to work for me. Or just says an unexpected error has occurred) 😅www.ravensburger.co.uk/en-GB/products/jigsaw-puzzles/adult-puzzles/furry-friends-500pc-12001705

That’s an awesome jigsaw scape!

i’m now reminded to look at Christmas jigsaws. I like to get a new one every year, mostly so my mother can get it the following year; she’s on her own and her world is fairly small, so she loves a jigsaw to occupy her.

Vapeaddict · 02/10/2025 20:14

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join you! I started on Tuesday but it seemed daft to join September for the last day.
I like a Wednesday weigh day- my starting weight is 10st7lbs. I have gained a stone since this time last year- a holiday was the first half stone and quitting vaping (should probably change my username!) saw another 7lbs jump on in the last couple of months.

I'd like to lose 7lbs before Christmas ideally. 9st7 is the ultimate goal but I'm happy to take my time. This half stone has gone on quickly so I'm hoping it comes off with a bit of effort.

I have another thread in S&B about my hair loss/thinning. Because of this, I'm trying to prioritise protein- so far just with food but I'm not against a protein powder if it gets really tough. I calorie count as accurately as I can, aiming for about 1400 a day (using MFP).

I love reading about food 😂 and what other people are eating, it's great for inspiration. Already planning a soup after reading @TheRealHousewife homemade tomato and red pepper number!

Joining in the off topic puzzle talk - www.wentworthpuzzles.com

After a long and stressful day (and in pain) I've eaten maintenance rather than deficit, but I'm OK with that.

Welcome @Vapeaddict but yes, a new name celebrating your success?

Poisonwood · 02/10/2025 22:25

I just bought a 1962 Map of New Zealand jigsaw cheaply secondhand for my youngest DD for Christmas, she’s obsessed with the country and will be over the moon. Love a good jigsaw.

Today has been good food and exercise wise, couple of hours yoga plus breakfast was quark with slivered almonds and frozen berries, lunch was chilli jacket potato and salad and a penguin, dinner was peanut butter on wholemeal toast made on the fire as had a power cut.

PersistentRain · 03/10/2025 10:22

0.1kg off today. I have been eating slightly more with all the gym work I’ve been doing, to be honest some days I’ve been starving because of all the cardio I like to do. Hopefully this is weight starting to move.

TC2023 · 03/10/2025 15:23

Hi, i am new to the group.

Want to shift the postpartum weight before Christmas.

CW: 74kg
TW: 65kg

Have just joined up to some gym classes so aiming for 3 a week and walks with baby when I can. And stop snacking!!!

Wish me luck 😁

Poisonwood · 03/10/2025 17:02

@TC2023 when I first started losing weight I simply stopped all snacking, I didn’t restrict meals. It made a huge difference.

Today I’ve been really quite rushed…a banana and a high-protein mousse and a hi-fibre energy bar during the day is not great but dinner is chicken casserole and lots of vegetables. I did a lovely hour of yoga which helped ground me after the rushing!
I need to drink plenty for the rest of the day too.

Tomorrow is my birthday so I plan a relaxing day with lots of yoga and some wholesome autumnal food.

biscuitcat · 03/10/2025 17:48

Welcome new joiners! @Shego your weight loss already is incredible, huge congratulations.

I’ve had quite a protein heavy day today and it’s amazing the difference it makes to my fullness levels - had a very early dinner with the kids so after all 3 meals I’m at about 1450 calories and really full (for reference my deficit calories for 1lb a week loss is over 2000 as I’m breastfeeding! So that’s really quite low for me as I try not to undereat in case it affects my milk supply).

TealSloth · 04/10/2025 09:54

Morning all I've had a bad start to September and a weak incoming into October.
I really need to pull myself together for this month. And work on myself. What i believe in is. A new day is a new start.
Need to push my self towards what I need to work on.

PersistentRain · 04/10/2025 10:48

Another 0.2kg. I’ve been eating a little more and suspect it’s getting things moving. Thank god!

Poisonwood · 04/10/2025 12:01

Whoever recommended Deliciously Ella chocolate almonds is an absolute angel, thank you!

I don’t actually feel very hungry today, so need to make sure I eat enough.

Emmadaily · 04/10/2025 12:33

Hi everyone Hope your weekend is going good despite the weather .
I have not long got home from my weigh in at slimming world and so pleased to report a 3 pounds loss after maintening last week.
I did a recommended speed foods week and it's kicked in quite nicely .
So I'm quite pleased here
I have another 5 and half pounds to target

Feel it's reachable sooner than I thought
Good luck to all my fellow slimmers
X

Vapeaddict · 04/10/2025 13:15

Annoyingly I don't think I can change my username and post here under a different one- I think it must be to stop puppeting- so I'll stick with this until November.

I've had a good couple of days, ate out yesterday but stuck to a chicken salad, no dessert and prepped dinner in advance to avoid the panic/takeaway that can happen on Friday nights! I actually ended up 300 cals under yesterday- do people "carry over" unused cals? I used to do a weekly calorie count rather than daily so I do tend to, though am careful not to go too far in to restrict/binge.

This evening we're having a steak for dinner, it's really hard to calculate the calories in the meal but I've done my best. It's tempting to say sod it, have a day off when I can't accurately track but I can't fall off the wagon so soon!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/10/2025 14:57

They are good aren’t they @Poisonwood ? A great find. I use nutracheck for tracking @Vapeaddict it’s very good for items in British supermarkets etc. and includes things from popular chains. It has an easier day function so you can allow for more calories at weekend or if you have a night out etc. and adjusts calories on other days to compensate, so I think you are fine to have a weekly allowance. I am currently about 300 calories over for the week since Wednesday and hoping to reduce that difference tomorrow, although DH has come home with a tasty, but calorific steak pie for tomorrow.

Skyglimmer · 04/10/2025 15:11

A 0.3 kg loss this week, which makes me the lightest I’ve been in about 8 years! It’s been a slow and steady journey, with a little bump along the way where I gained 3 kg, but I’m back on track for the final push to 50kg. Once I get there, the plan is to maintain!

SW: 62.7 kg (Sept 2024)
CW: 53.8 kg
GW: 50 kg (I’m quite short!)

Fellsbells · 04/10/2025 20:35

Total disaster today. Calories have been consumed with wanton abandon. I blame the wind and rain, tomorrow is a new day!

Poisonwood · 04/10/2025 22:14

@Fellsbells i hope they were enjoyed as well as consumed!! Love the imagery your words evoked - a decadent cornucopia of calories.

Shego · 05/10/2025 00:12

Welcome new joiners! @Shego your weight loss already is incredible, huge congratulations

Thank you @biscuitcat it's been over about 18 months so taken a while but I'm really hoping that this time it sticks.

It's been a good week but the scales are being painfully stubborn in not moving (I'm a daily weigher). We're off out to a Mexican restaurant tomorrow but I'm not sure which one so I've not had a chance to check out the menu yet but hopefully I can find something reasonably healthy, and maybe just one Margherita 😉

PatienceOfEngels · 05/10/2025 07:56

I feel so much better back in my own life and routine (felt better even after only 24 hours at home). Maybe I'm just not cut out for traveling anymore!

Meals the last few days:
Breakfast - old faithful - hard-boiled egg with rye toast, butter, coffee with milk.
Lunches - pumpkin soup with bread/spreads, pumpkin pancakes with Greek yoghurt and honey, omelette with mushroom and red pepper.
Dinners - lasagne, 'Big Mac' wraps with wedges (wrap filled with smash burger, lettuce, cheese, gherkins and 'Big Mac' sauce - mayo/ketchup/mustard/gherkins) , Chicken Bhuna.

Have prepped a Chicken Korma to cook up for tomorrow (with rice/broccoli)/freezer and have some chicken to cook and add to a casserole base I have in the freezer (add roast potatoes and peas).

Doing well with liquids - lots of herbal tea (enjoying orange and lemon at the moment, or earl grey with orange), coffee with breakfast only, glass of tonic Fri/Sat nights and no booze.

Biggest battle with food is resisting the mint choc ice cream in the freezer!

Need to move a bit more and get off my phone.

England trip was +1.3kg and that has already dropped 0.6kg with a few days back in my routine. So still +0.7kg. One step forward, two steps back! And period has also just arrived so maybe I shouldn't blame my diet for everything.

Am also heading to UK in a few weeks for a family break but not staying in a hotel so easy to manage food

Marshmellowbunny · 05/10/2025 08:16

@Fellsbells I was the same yesterday. I just ate and ate and ate 🙈 I couldn't stop 😂🙈

Y'all are so organised with your food prepping and your menus sound delicious. Maybe I need to get more organised to prevent yesterday happening. Hmmm.

PersistentRain · 05/10/2025 08:31

Another 0.5kg off. End of period and eating more has kicked started something after a no weight loss for ages.
0.3kg until my next Happy Scale target. Don’t believe it will be this week though.

Fellsbells · 05/10/2025 08:58

By some mercy (and a 5km run this morning) I haven’t gained a stone overnight.

Plan for today is don’t eat stupidly. Yesterday was a one off and can’t be repeated.

biscuitcat · 05/10/2025 09:01

The burger wraps sound delicious @PatienceOfEngels!

My downfall at the moment is when DH is away (2-3 nights a week for work) I’m so tired that my best laid plans end up going awry. Luckily the house is stocked so that I can’t go totally mad but I definitely end up eating less well - so today I’m prepping my dinners for the next couple of nights when he’s not here so I can have something tasty and filling without having to cook on the day.

Today’s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt with strawberries and honey
L - French onion soup
D - carbonara

I have a leftover cooked chicken breast in the fridge so that will hopefully end up being for my snacks if no one else gets to it first!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 05/10/2025 09:53

@VapeaddictI use the Nutracheck app to calorie count and I like it because it has all the UK brand stuff on it but also it shows a weekly calorie count as well as daily so it’s easy to carry calories over/refer to the weekly count! I don’t think I’d be able to successfully stay under calorie count if I just focused on daily because sometimes like if you have meals out arranged or nights out, or just want to have a day when you have more treats it’s nice to be able to manage and ‘bank’ calories to use up on those days and it keeps me on track better overall 😊

I was feeling the urge to eat and eat yesterday but managed to make okay choices and didn’t have a peanut butter and jam bagel at 10.30pm after me and DP finished watching a film so that’s a win 😂👍🏻
