I cannot beleive how much I have lost

Although I had a bad couple of days last weekend, I have weight myself this morning to discover that this week I have lost

10 pounds

Before I start getting messages of concern, I have not starved myself in the slightest, its impossible for me to do so as I adore my food, but, I have been eating lots of salad and fresh veg etc and drinking copious amounts of water.

This is alot, but, I do have 10st 8lb to lose, my doctor is not concerned as she knows I am being careful and doing more walking than usual, but she says she doesn't want me losing more than 2lb a week in a couple of months time.

Just wanted to share my news with everyone as no-one else is awake yet .

PS. I'm following weightwatchers points.

Well done bubbles!!!

10lbs is fantasic, without sound rude but as you have alot to lose surely going to a healtly eating diet will make you lose that much. It would be disheartening for you for it only to be a couple of pounds, I know it would me.
Really pleased for you
(Oh and ......Pah! no-one awake yet......I've been here since about 6:30am)

emmaTooMuchGrub · 15/01/2005 07:37

soundING rude

I really must preview

BubblesDeVere · 15/01/2005 07:41

No, your not sounding rude at all, what you are saying is true, and, though I have had a bad couple of days last week, I would have been dissapointed with a pound.

I am very very happy and I'm going to treat myself to some satin pyjamas rather than a bottle of wine, and I've also bought some touche eclat.

I told dh today and he was amazed, but he says then again, he has seen how much I have been eating and it is all healthy organic stuff.

I would definately recommend weight watchers, they have brought out a new plan, which, is very much like Slimming world. Different diets though work differently for different people. I have always liked weightwatchers, I did lose 2 1/2 stone on it a while ago and I put it all back on because I completely came off plan.

I know ww like the back of my hand and have over 30 different recipe books now. I must admit though I do fill up on lots of free foods, such as organic veg and salad.

I have always drunk alot of water anyway, but drink more as it helps flush toxins out of your system and ww as well as other slimming clubs say that alot of people mistake thirst for hunger, so they recommend have a pint of water and if in half hour your still hungry, then you are hungry iykwim.

Heh, what a lovely way to wake up - 10lbs is great. Well done!

I think you are right about the walking too, it has got to help loads.

Keep going and can you tell me what is touche eclat - it sounds interesting?

BubblesDeVere · 15/01/2005 08:11

Katie, its a make up that is supposed to be really really good at concealing bags under the eyes and thread veins etc. Its quite expensive, but, you can get it cheaper on a web site called slapiton.com. A few people though have had allergic reactions and there is a cheaper version in Boots chemist which is also recommended.

Oh well done! You must be pleased!

happymerryberries · 15/01/2005 08:18

Amazing! Well done, what a wonderful motivating start. You are now 5 bags of sugar smaller than you were last week, that is sooooo good!

Blossomhill · 15/01/2005 08:21

Bubbles - fantastic, you must be so proud. Keep up the good work

BubblesDeVere · 15/01/2005 08:21

Thank you all, but, I just wish that I could notice a difference in my clothes .

But I suppose that will come with time. And I can't wait to be able to wear nice fashionable clothes again,.

One day at a time and all that! But is just goes to show how great you can be at this, so keep on keeping on.

I'm also dieting, I'm doing the GI diet and it is very good...I've lost 6 pound in almost two weeks, which I thought was good 'till I read your post

BubblesDeVere · 15/01/2005 08:33

HMB, The GI diet, is fab, i am working a little into my everyday eating such as having porridge for breakfast instead of sugary cereals and also have stoneground bread and eating pasta made from Durum wheat and brown rice.

KatieinSpain · 15/01/2005 08:34

This time next week you will notice the difference. Is the touche eclat make-up worth the extra?

BubblesDeVere · 15/01/2005 08:37

Apparantly so, but saying that, some mumsnetters have used it and it left them with sore eyes and they have never usually had problems, so thats one thing to think about.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 15/01/2005 18:05

Bubbles, that is MARVELLOUS - well done . As you say, you wouldn't expect to lose that much weekly in future, but isn't it a brilliant start - a real boost.

I'm so pleased for you.

amynnixmum · 15/01/2005 18:08

Thats great Bubbles. I've only lost 2 and its my first week too. Really glad you had a good week

WigWamBam · 15/01/2005 18:39

Bubbles - fantastic start, well done! I've got a similar amount to lose, so know how frustrating it is to lose a lot but still not be able to see it ... but you soon will. You must be over the moon!

Frizbe · 15/01/2005 18:41

Yeah well done bubbles

bran · 15/01/2005 19:15

Congratulations Bubbles - that's a fantastic loss, you must be so pleased. I hope it continues to go well for you.

Are you doing the No-Count or the Full-Choice? I've decided not to do the No-count for the time being as I quite happy with the Full-choice, but I may change over if I start to plateau. I think I would find it hard though as I like to graze throughout the day rather than just have fruit or veg between meals.

Have you had a look at the long term slimmer thread yet? Come and join us. It's a very supportive group and I've found everyone's help invaluable when I'm losing motivation (I have 7 stone to lose altogether, almost 2 down, 5 to go).

BubblesDeVere · 15/01/2005 20:12

Hiya Bran,

I am also sticking with the full-choice as there is still some confusion on the ww boards about no-count. Plus, I the points now for most of the foods I eat.

I'll pop onto the other thread tomorrow as I'm off the watch casualty now.
