Hi all

Struggling to get 5th dose out of mounjaro pen anyone help please?

Do you twist hard (trying to get past 0 upwards) with a needle on please?

Been twisting hard but can't get it to move or press down button

I twisted mine with my hand, it was tough at first but then it moved and was easy, mine wasn't a full dose tho just touched the 0 so I'll see how I go this week, it's exactly like normal doses turn from the 0 to 1 all the same process.

No just to 1, inject that. If you have more left in the pen and want to do a bridging dose twist again as far as it will go and do a second injection.

Not a good idea to do your 5th dose straight after your 4th though, as you'll be more than doubling your usual dose.

I left 4 days as noticed it is wearing off, I start 5 next week but am scared about the side effects, heard you can do so many clicks to put it down a little does any o e know about this???

I did 45 clicks on my first dose from 5mg pen.
This is 3.75mg.
It was fine, so I went up to 5mg the week after.
I'm now on 7.5 and I've been incredibly lucky, with no bad side effects so far.

And have you lost weight going up??

Yes, consistently losing 2 to 3lbs a week on all doses.

Is three days between doses the recommended timescale?
I don't feel that 2.5 is working for me as well any more and wondered when I could top up.

I am like you @CaptainWaffle I don't feel it too, I'm at the I'm Guna be the 1 person this doesn't work on stage! Can't wait till Friday to go up a dose! Not going straight to 5 will try the 45 clicks 1st 😄

Hi, just want some help on this too please. I am due my last 2.5 this weekend then moving up. Should I take the 'extra' dose along with my last one, like together? Thanks so much in advance

If you take the 5th dose at the same time as your 4th you'll most likely be having a dose of more than 5mg, so that's a big increase and not advisable.

I always take mine on the 5th week, so I get 5 weeks out of a pen to bring the cost down a bit.

Some people do but I am using the pen for 5 doses. The final one is about one and a half doses so it is useful for transitioning but I still have the recommended 4 doses before increasing.

I tried to draw it out with a 2ml syringe and needle. Didn't work ☹️
What did I do wrong?

What happened? Sometimes apparently the vacuum in the glass vial can make it hard to extract the liquid. People suggest inserting some air into the vial using the syringe before trying to extract the liquid. Or was it something else that went wrong?

Just nothing the liquid just wouldn’t draw into my syringe.
I did inject some air first.

Maybe your syringe had a faulty needle?

No. I drew up some water and that was fine.

That's really strange then.
I do have to pull the syringe plunger a bit and then let it go and it pings back in a bit. But doing this a couple of times usually allows the required amount to be drawn out.

Having read about this not being safe I'm in two minds about the 5th dose. Surely it should be fine if been kept in the fridge and at the cost seems daft to waste it.

Pens should be discarded 30 days after the first dose is taken. 5 doses are within this.
Dose 1 - day 1
Dose 2 - day 8
Dose 3 - day 15
Dose 4 - day 22
Dose 5 - date 29
