Size 10 is amazing.

Mine is sort of working. I went on holiday this week and only put on half a lb as I just couldn't/didnt want to eat as much as I once would have.

I'm still a carb fiend and need to drop that more as the weather improves and have more salads and veg.

I constantly think about coming off it but dont want to put it all back on again. Slow loss is still a loss so I keep on forking out even though I'm not really losing much compared to the expense of it.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 15/02/2024 16:55

I'm still losing but it's definitely more slowly as I'm eating closer to my maintain number + less to lose now. Losing under a pound or 1/2 kg per week now. It's still nearly a 5000 kcal deficit per week though so really not a lot of food considering my TDEE is less than 1400/day. I do feel like I need to watch myself, track most days and be organised. And I will have to do it always going forward, or at least mostly. That just doesn't feel "me" if that makes sense, it feels regimented and slightly disordered. But I've resigned myself to it I guess. Because I never want to go back to how it was.

I'll be just under 9 stone for my one year anniversary next month, ie my goal. Taking my loss to nearly 5 stone. It's a strange experience. People don't recognize me, and based on some comments you'd think I look emaciated ("You're fading away!" - thanks, elderly female neighbor...) but I'm a curvy 10-12, BMI 22, waist 29-30 inches.

Am on 2.4mg Wegovy and it no longer seems to be doing anything for me

I've just ordered the starter Mounjaro pen. There aren't really any instructions out there as to how to switch so I think I'll leave 14 days between the two drugs and start at the minimum dose of mounjaro

I know with switching between Saxenda and Ozempic, you could start at a higher dose but there isn't as much info on this so will start at the beginning I think. May increase doses slightly more quickly depending on result

AndSoFinally · 15/02/2024 17:39

Anyone else thinking of switching?

Cherryonthetop2019 · 15/02/2024 20:30

Where do you order it from?

Quick meds have a good chat function. They sell both or at least are due to. Could you ask them re moving across?

I might do the same at some point. Currently on 1.7mg and still doing OK.

Sorry if TMI, but does anyone else keep blocking the toilet? BlushBlushBlush

It seems my poo has the consistency of plasticine and really causes problems with our plumbing. I only go about every days and don't feel uncomfortable in between, just the norm now.

AndSoFinally · 16/02/2024 11:40

Got it from Pharmacy2U

Me too, they're the best value as far as I know. Good service.

Hi not blocking the toilet but yes definitely changed bowel habits. Constipation, severe diarrhoea and most commonly as you say softer stools.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 17/02/2024 12:02

@spottedinthewilds not blocking but certainly harder to flush from time to time. Ah, the glamour.

2kidsintow · 17/02/2024 12:09

I have one unopened 1mg pen left. And have the same-old debate with myself about staying on it or coming off it. Especially as I'm only really maintaining with some small losses over a month. I don't want to go to 1.7 as the jump from 0.5 to 1mg was v unpleasant.

On somewhere between 0.75 and 1, it does still affect my appetite and how much I can eat, which is why when I recently went on holiday and had hotel breakfasts, restaurant dinners and alcohol, I only put on half a lb.

I'm now a size 14, and I'm an hourglass shape, so it looks ok and I'm getting lots of compliments - oh the vanity! 😂 I'm loathe to regain the weight. If it was half as expensive I'd suck up the cost and stay on as maintenance.

leilani83 · 17/02/2024 18:16

SO pissed off! My latest Wegovy order was supposed to arrive today, and apparently they attempted delivery but couldn't deliver although I was at home the whole time, so they'll attempt again on Monday. Has anyone else had this, and was it still OK despite sitting somewhere for 48+ hours unrefridgerated?

2kidsintow · 17/02/2024 20:47

I've often kept mine in it's packaging when it arrives for a few days before opening it and using it and it seems to be kept fine, with the ice packs working for a few days to keep it cold.
It also arrives with 'in fridge' written on it so I would hope that the depot would have a fridge on site for such circumstances.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 26/02/2024 22:17

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
I'm 7lbs from my goal weight 11 months in, just ordered my first 2.4 W, it may well be my last order. My loss has stalled after being on 1.7 for several months (no wonder since I'm eating closer to maintenance + not much left to lose) and some cravings are creeping back but very manageable. Feel good, look good.
Still pondering if it's best to stop cold turkey or taper off?

SwimmingFree · 27/02/2024 22:57

Hello, it's been quiet recently. I've just gone up to 2.4. I've been on ozempic/wegovy for a year now and have lost 4 stone but have another 4 to go. My weight loss has completely stalled, I'm finding the medication less effective now even though I'm now up to the max dose. I suppose I have to start restricting further but that's not as easy as it once was.

Have you thought about switching to mounjaro? More effective in trials and goes to higher doses too.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 28/02/2024 11:30

Here's an update from me.

SW: 183 lbs (13st 1)
GW: 144 lbs (10st 4)
CW: 130 lbs (9st 4)

10 months in I'm a stone under my goal weight, and I've never (until Monday) gone above 0.75.

I spent 6 weeks on 0.25 and then months and months on 0.5. I had no side effects at first and it seemed liked magic - no appetite and no food noise.

Then I went up to 0.5 and suffered really badly the first month or so. Sulphur burps, vomiting and diarrhoea, the lot. Managed to control is by eating extremely plain food for the day or 2 after the injection.

Got to target in October and then stayed on 0.5 just to see what would happen. Well I've dropped another stone and got to a 23 BMi and 26% body fat 😳 (from 41%)

Juniper started sending me 1.7 and then tried to send me 2.4 (😱) and I asked them to stick with the 1.7. I now have 3 of those in the fridge and plan to do a half dose to make them each last 8 weeks.

The food noise has been back for quite a while but I'm mindful of not being to stay on it forever and so I've been training myself to try and ignore it more. It helps that when I do eat my appetite is currently still quite small.

Otherwise I've been doing intermittent fasting and not eating until lunchtime and upped my exercise. PT twice a week, I walk everywhere and I run 10k once a week.

My old wardrobe fits again, I feel fitter and just "more me" all round.

I do wonder what's going to happen when I come off altogether. I'm clearly very sensitive to the medication - I went from 0.75 to 0.85 this week (to use up what was left in my old pen) and have had the dreaded sulphur burps etc again for the last days Confused

PlasticineKing · 28/02/2024 13:56

We update from me and joining in the new thread. Thanks @DrMadelineMaxwell 💕

I started in April 2023, did 4 weeks at 0.25, 10 weeks at 0.5, piddled about a bit for 3/4 weeks when supply was tricky over the summer and was on 0.75 for a it as the jump to 1mg was not good for me to start with. Started fully on 1mg in August and did 17 weeks on 1mg. Then went up to 1.35mg which is where I am now, 8/9 weeks in.

I had a v v v slow loss/plateau from the back end of December to now. I did consider going up to 1.7, but I seem to have broken through the plateau for now anyway. I think it was a combination of my body starting to change shape from running (started in October last year) and I was also really unwell at the end of Jan and it’s taken me a few weeks to recover.

Ive just had to buy a 2.4mg pen as I couldn’t get my normal 1.7, but I'm counting clicks for 7 doses and it’s actually cheaper per dose. I think my next pen I’ll get the 2.4mg again and do 6 doses, which is a dose of 1.6mg.

I found 1mg side effects got me the most, although I get none now other than appetite suppression.

Start weight 105.2kg (16stone 7.5lbs) BMI 37.7
Current 78.8kg (12stone 5.5lbs) BMI 28.3

Ive gone from a size 18-20 to a 14, I’m 5’6” and hold my weight very well (I’d go so far as to say I probably am quite a “dense” person) so even though I’m still 12 stone odd, it’s been a big change to my body. I’d like to get down to 68/69kg, that’s the lowest I’ve ever been in adulthood. But 70 will be amazing, not sure how achievable that is now I’m older and have a child. Think I’m starting to see perimenopause symptoms, I’m about to turn 40. I feel like this came along at the perfect time for me.

Im planning to do a slow taper off and potentially stay in 0.25mg mid term if I can.

I swapped to wegovy in December but haven’t noticed any differences in anything at all.

Great to hear from people.

@PlasticineKing may I ask how many clicks you do to get the 1.6 dose out of a 2.4 W pen please? Sorry, I'm crap at maths.

On a 2.4mg pen, a 1.6mg dose is 50 clicks. Worked it all out today!

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 28/02/2024 18:16

@PlasticineKing thank you so much! Great to be able to get 6 doses out of the 2.4 pen.

liz4change · 29/02/2024 10:27

Hello all. Good to hear from people on the long haul.

As of this week I am tapering down - 1mg was the highest dose I got to. 6 weeks on .25, 4 months on .5 (initially beacause of shortages but at the end of which I'd lost 13kg), a month on .75 and then the last 2 on 1mg.

Started May 2023 - I was 13st 7 or 85-86 kgs. I'm 5'6 so BMI was 31. The combination of menopause which along with weight gain brought nasty MH and other physical impacts, plus some v difficult family issues had me on my knees self esteem wise. I'd stopped looking after myself because tbh I didn't feel I was worth it.

I'm now 68kg (10 st 7) and all my clothes fit again. I feel so much better and have had the opportunity to properly think about how I got to where I was, and most importantly see self care as crucial.

I'm honestly anxious about coming off and know I have work to do. I should drink less wine. But at least I don't hate myself any more. I was in such a hole.

2kidsintow · 29/02/2024 19:59

SW: 14.10
CW: 11.13
GW:???

I've got up to 1mg doses. I was counting clicks to make them last a bit longer, but after dropping down a bit last week I found I was craving the bad stuff again and put on a few pounds.
I've gone up to 1mg this week and lost those lbs. Hopefully if I stay on 1mg then I'll keep going down. I'd like to be 11.7 or less by May when I have a bucket list trip to go on. I've got 7 doses left so far.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 29/02/2024 22:10

@liz4change really well done. My story is quite similar, stopped looking after myself. I also slightly dread coming off, wine was my downfall (feeling I needed nightly wine + carby snack binges as some kind of self medication, or let's face it high functioning alcoholism) which the jab removed almost instantly.

I looked at reddit and several people suggest no need for tapering off, cold turkey best. My thinking is worst case scenario I come back on the jab?
