If dieting doesn't work what does?

I need to lose 2 stone. It used to be one which proves my point really. Nothing works. I have a tendency to binge eat/comfort eat. So if I restrict to lose weight I do this more. I've had some therapy for this and hypnosis which has helped but my therapist says I mustn't diet as I will end up bingeing again.

So how can I lose the weight?!! I eat quite healthily most of the time.

Get a bike is good advice. Especially if you are time poor, if you can do any part of your travel with it, you will fit some exercise in at limited time cost. Even if you can't it is a quick way to exercise and get outside.

I got one last year and love it.

I'd recommend listening to podcasts by ESG fitness (you can also find her on Instagram). She is all about changing your mindset and lifestyle and is very inspirational. To lose weight you basically have to create a calorie deficit, it's simple but not necessarily easy, and she can really help to set you on the right course.
Worked for me anyway.

I have recently lost weight(unintentionally) & the only thing different is that I never stop moving & literally don’t have time for snacking (I do but not lots) I just have 3 meals per day (that I don’t even look at the calories of but is fairly healthy-ish) & few snacks (choc/crisps).

The main thing though that has made me lose weight is that I am moving all day, since everything has gone up, I walk everywhere possible, I am out every eve chasing my kid round on her bike, walking the dog, walking to the shop, walking into town then when I’m not walking/running after someone, I’m cleaning or gardening.

What is slimming world like now then?

A balanced healthy eating plan, eat to your fill of protein/ carbs/ veg. I think it used to be more complicated with 'red and green days.'

I think at the meetings there can be lots of chat about sweeteners/ low cal treat foods. I do it on line so avoid that. I know it works as I have a family member who lost 5 stone and has kept it off, also a friend who has done the same. Obviously if you go back to eating like you did before you will re gain weight- just like with any eating plan. It makes me very mindful of what I eat which can only be a good thing. It made me realize I have a healthy diet but I ate far too much bread and oil and had way too many treats. The occasional treat doesn't actually mean biscuits every day 😱🤣

shock is when u realise eating unprocessed food with low carb can still pile weight on.
Tons of healthy foods are calorie dense.
advising someone to eat ANY unprocessed food is so misleading.

I would be interested to do weight training, stupid question but how do I start?

Join a gym and get a personal trainer. Once you're confident with the basics and good form crack on yourself ( good form is paramount to avoid injury progressing to heavier weights )
