May weight loss

Baileysoverice · 01/05/2023 10:42

I've rejoined nutracheck this morning. Just waking up, blessed with a lazy morning, then hopping on the scales to get my official start weight.

I'm looking at about 15st and at 5ft 3, I'm feeling the pain. My aim is to lose 5 stone by next May.

I'm doing this for health benefits as well as how I look. I turn 44 very soon and I can't feel this unwell any longer. I also look old and tired so hoping weight loss will brighten me up a bit.

Will log my start weight when I know it officially. Wanted to post before I chicken out (again).

Join me if you wish!

Morning! I feel surprisingly chipper considering I got about 3 hours sleep and i drank white, rose, gin and cider last night. Actually don’t feel too wretched.

I’m starting (again) fully strict, ass kicking, low carb, totally on it- 2 weeks 5 days until holiday so I really want a last final push. I won’t weigh myself today, I weighed yesterday and was pleased so I don’t feel the need to punish myself for yesterday. I did my measurements yesterday as well, not done them this year and regretted not doing it. My food was fine, ( I have attached a picture of my tapas board because it was so pretty!) and I did have some nachos and salsa and a little piece of rocky road but actually i didn’t go mad and don’t feel like I went off the rails. Even though I mixed my drinks, I didn’t actually much of any of them.

so today- I have a couple of chickens to cook, one for dinner today and one for the week. I’m going to prep some salads as well for the week for my lunches. My aim this week is just to keep carbs under 50g, so lots of salads, protein, dairy and eggs, keeping calories to 1300. this also coincides with me having quite a sore hip so I am going to rest up this week and have a few days off running and deep leg work, to give it a break.

Can I come and live with you please this looks delicious 🤤

I lost just over 2lbs last week, feeling better about that.

Didn't count on Saturday as my children wanted an indoor picnic for coronation, so just gave up on counting that.

Did fine yesterday and today's mostly ok other than finding some marzipan fruits I had missed in the cupboard, but only had one, then discovered it's over 100 calories for one 25g fruit!!

eleanorwish · 08/05/2023 15:30

Weighed in this morning, I've lost nothing this week, probably due to not bothering with calorie counting this weekend.
So starting weight: 16st 6lbs
Current weight: 16st 2lbs.

Mamadoodoo · 08/05/2023 15:59

Hey all, hope you've all had a good weekend, well done those who have lost 💪🏻
I havnt lost anything yet but I think I'll be more on it this week! Here's to a brilliant and healthy week to us all. Xx

WedTheBed · 08/05/2023 16:20

Hi all, please can I join you?

I’m getting married in September, but I have my dress alterations in July, so I’m looking to drop as much weight as possible quickly, then maintain a more steady weight loss post-wedding!

I’m currently 12st on the dot.. at 5ft on the dot! - I’ve had two children, my youngest has just turned 1 and I’m at my heaviest I’ve ever been. I had two c sections and still can’t quite feel my lower abdominal muscles yet so it’s making it hard to do any kind of work out that involves them! I can’t even attempt a sit up as my muscles just stop 😂

I’m on day one of a super restricted calorie diet; I’m allowing myself 850 calories a day.
breakfast was a spinach and pepper omelette, lunch was a low calorie sweet and sour chicken with a slim fast bar to settle my sweet craving!

Dinner will be healthy ‘picky bits’ as we’re up my (also dieting) brother and sister in laws for a game of monopoly later!

Im drinking at least 2l of water a day and hopefully am going to completely cut out alcohol (I’m currently a daily drinker!)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/05/2023 19:37

I was quite hungover today, more from totally rubbish sleep than excessive alcohol, and I’ve struggled to control my appetite today. I haven’t calorie counted, most of what I have eaten has been fine though, but just probably too much of it. I did have a small piece of cake and custard after dinner- my last hurrah! I did intend to start today but a combination of miserable weather, tired, hungover, and builder here knocking a hole through from our garage into our dining room didn’t really lend itself to focussed healthy eating. I wanted to sprawl on the sofa watching trashy tv in my pjs, instead I had to get up!

its my day in the office tomorrow- always a very long, draining day and I go out to dcs football immediately after getting home so it’s a really really long day. I’ve prepped my lunch box- salad, with mango and lime chicken and mayo, some fruit and a protein yoghurt. I really have to remember to drink at least one full bottle (1.5l) of water at work and another at home, to keep the fuzzy brain fog head away - I only get it at work and it’s obviously dehydration related. My dinner tomorrow will be leftover roast chicken and veggies. So it should be easy to stick to my targets assuming I don’t ‘crash out’ after work.

Mamadoodoo · 12/05/2023 18:25

Hey how's everyone doing this week? I've weighed myself as I want to start weighing on Fridays and I've lost 1lb. Not great but at least it's a loss I spose. X

WeirdPookah · 12/05/2023 19:36

I lost 2.5 lbs this week.

Total 44lbs down this year.

Bit concerned at following my plan over the weekend, Eurovision requires snacks, and my in-laws are coming Sunday, but I can eat ok if I pay attention.

MercuryRising · 14/05/2023 08:16

WeirdPookah that's a fantastic weight loss! Well done!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/05/2023 08:42

@WeirdPookah well done, awesome loss!

we don’t watch Eurovision but we did still have some goodies yesterday. I’d allowed for a nice bar of chocolate (Ritter sport honey almonds if anyone is interested, it’s bloody lovely) but then dh bought me wine which I didn’t really want, so I tweaked my food and had that too. However I could easily then have had loads of crap and found it all very hard to resist. It makes the evening all very difficult doesn’t it?

i now have just under 2 weeks to my holiday, I’m due on so I know once my hormones settle i can actually have a good weight loss at this time in my cycle so I want to get all prepared. I’m going to do what I know always works- low carb, high protein, lots of water, exercise…. I need to stop the snacks as well, or at least have a specific snack like carrots sticks and Philadelphia rather than just nibbling all day. But I know I can actually do it if I put my mind to it so I’m going to be really focussed - I’d like to get under 11st before I go away, so 3lbs off. Totally doable.

WedTheBed · 14/05/2023 16:11

Hi all,

I was 2lbs down on Friday, then had a cheat day and now it’s back up so a total fail! I am gutted but it’s given me the kick up the arse I need to just stay on track.

I’m finding low calorie really easy too, drinking loads of water is definitely helping to stay feeling fuller, and the low calorie meals are actually very filling! - I made salads for lunch most days, and have a Slimfast bar for a snack.

hoping for a better week this week! 😫

Purpletoes · 15/05/2023 14:41

Down 1.1kg this week. Not bad as I have managed to just about do 16:8 most days but was out for dinner on Saturday and had wine and a cocktail it was Sunday that I failed on though as was tired and too many treats around the house. But back on it today and I am going to look at doing the actual fast 800 with my if.

Hope everyone else has had a good week

Mamadoodoo · 17/05/2023 19:51

I've started exercising doing YouTube kettlebell workouts and I've put on 2lb 🤦🏼‍♀️

WedTheBed · 17/05/2023 20:44

@Mamadoodoo that likely because muscle weighs more than fat! So you’re graining muscle and toning up, but burning fat. That’s why if you’re doing muscle building work outs you don’t really need or want to watch the numbers on the scales!

Mamadoodoo · 17/05/2023 21:21

Ooh that's good news then, I wondered what I'd done wrong when I got on the scales and saw that I'd gained lol! X

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/05/2023 06:39

@Mamadoodoo the muscle weighs more than fat thing is always hotly debated on here. A specific volume (eg cubic centimetre) of muscle weighs more than the same volume of fat cells. If you’ve only just started working out, you won’t have built any muscle yet, certainly not 2lbs (sorry) - what you’re experiencing is when you work out, you make tiny tears in your muscles and water is drawn around to heal them. It’s essentially inflammation. If you’re experiencing DOMs (when you ache after a workout and can’t sit down without it hurting!) that’s largely water retention, the body doing its job to heal the ‘damage’ to your muscles caused by your new exercise regime. Of course, that water retention weighs (and water weighs more than fat too!) so you see it on the scales. A good kettlebell workout is a whole body workout so you will be feeling it if you’ve done it properly and especially if it’s new to you.

WeirdPookah · 18/05/2023 08:00

I weighed in today and lost nearly 3.5lbs this week!

Planning is going to be hard though next week, as I have to use up fresh foods before we go on holiday, so might end up with some odd foods and running out of salad type things.

Angliski · 18/05/2023 08:03

I’m 5ft 2. Have gone from 15 st 9 in October to 11 st 4. Got just shy of 3st to go. Have been a bit less consistent last month, now want to up my game again.

Mamadoodoo · 18/05/2023 12:08

@thenewaveragebear1983 thanks for that info! Yeah I was aching quite a bit from the exercise so must be the water retention around the muscles then. I'll keep going with it, it should all help in the end 😀🤞

Mamadoodoo · 18/05/2023 12:10

@Angliski wow that's great! How did you do it was it just cutting out junk or did you follow a specific diet? Well done on your loss!

WedTheBed · 18/05/2023 12:42

I jumped on the scales this morning and I am 4lbs down! Hoorah!! Dead please and it’s given me the motivation to carry on!

Angliski · 18/05/2023 13:04

@Mamadoodoo I joined foodaddicts.org

its free and is a 12 step for food addiction. Nothing else has helped me as much. It is strict but has lots of support. No flour, no sugar and we weigh and measure our meals every day. Lots of fresh simple food

Mamadoodoo · 19/05/2023 14:14

@Angliski oh that sounds good! X
