Flavoursome February

Morning ladies,

Here is the February thread. I'm concentrating on eating healthily this month, mainly cause I've been so lurgied. Weighed in at 9st1 this morning, think that might be about a pound down from the beginning of January. As ever, I would be delighted if I got into the 8st this month. Just booked a holiday in Turkey so hoping to have toned up a bit by then.

Morning! Thanks for the thread! I'll weigh in tomorrow but I'll just be keeping on as I've been going I think.

You don't have far to go under 9 stone, so I will keep my fingers crossed! When are you going to Turkey?

LBB2020 · 31/01/2023 18:05

Thanks for the new thread!
January was just about getting through/surviving for me! Work has been crazy busy and the children have had constant bugs. I have been getting in my steps most days and doing at least one pilates video a week. Hoping to build on that during February and get my eating under control! Exciting having a holiday booked @Octopus45 you definitely deserve it!

Octopus45 · 31/01/2023 18:19

Thanks @LBB2020 . @ScottishBeth we are going to Antalya in August, only six months and a week to go lol. In terms of goals I have been roughly maintaining for the past two and a half years, down a bit (occasionally), sometimes up a bit. I'm always aiming to get that bit more weight off, but life gets in the way and I'm not good at dieting. About five pounds off would be good for my holiday if I can manage it.

@LBB2020 know what you mean about survival, it has felt like a very long January, but I like to think that once when we get into February, Spring is round the corner and we are on the up.

Hello, I posted on the last thread without reading up, so here goes again;

@ScottishBeth i do a YouTube workout (I like Get Fit with Rick or Dance With Deepthi), yoga, and 10k steps. It started with a TikTok challenge in November and I just kept going. I even did my workout on Christmas/new year’s day!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/01/2023 23:27

Thank you for the new thread, I am SO glad January is over!

ScottishBeth · 01/02/2023 08:17

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I replied to you on the other thread as well! Haha!

79.0kg this morning. That's a loss of 2.8kg since 31st December so I'm really happy with that. I'm just going to keep going with what I've been doing.

LBB2020 · 01/02/2023 09:23

As expected I didn’t lose any weight during January, in fact I put on 2lbs 😫
Fingers crossed for a better month and making some healthy choices/changes

LBB2020 · 02/02/2023 07:46

Morning, I’m going to try to get back to posting regularly to keep myself accountable! Yesterday was an ok start to the month. Food was ok but a little carb heavy, I drank more water (could still do with drinking more) and I did a half hour exercise video (so that’s 2 workouts so far this week). Feeling quite motivated, let’s hope it lasts longer than a few days!

ScottishBeth · 02/02/2023 09:00

Morning @LBB2020 sorry you had a gain, but 2lbs will come off. Sounds like you're off to a decent start this month. What food plan are you following?

ScottishBeth · 02/02/2023 09:24

I am going out for lunch tomorrow for the 3 third time this week! And the worst thing is I don't know which restaurant. So I've just been looking at options and have chosen what I'll have at each place we might go to! I feel like yesterday's meal out might have been worse than I intended. So want to be really careful tomorrow.

LBB2020 · 02/02/2023 15:45

@ScottishBeth I'm not following any specific plan just trying to be sensible and make healthier choices. I sometimes log my calories on my Fitbit but I’m not consistent with it (I should try to get into the habit really as it’s quite an eye opener!). Hope you enjoy your meals out 😊

swallowedAfly · 03/02/2023 00:24

Marking my place after a long absence. Generally health stuff has kept me away from MN.

I only lost a few pounds in January overall. I lost quite a lot by eating low carb, then put it back on again and then some whilst away and then lost again for that 3lbs down so...?

Off to a good start in Feb - have gone down 2lbs since end of January. Back on low carbs path which seems to be working for me at the minute - long may it continue.

Agree January seemed to have about 100 days! One month close to spring now.

Hope everyone is doing ok?

LBB2020 · 04/02/2023 09:47

Welcome back @swallowedAfly
Weighed this morning and 2lbs down (perhaps the 2lb gain in January was water/hormones?!). Still feeling pretty motivated and planning a trip to the gym over the weekend or failing that another at home exercise video. Hope everyone has a good weekend 😊

swallowedAfly · 04/02/2023 10:08

Thank you and well done LB!

I have lost 4lb this week so a nice little whoosh there. Low carbs and only gin and slimline tonic alcohol wise and lots of water. Happy with that.

LBB2020 · 05/02/2023 11:59

Well done @swallowedAfly!
I've not made it to the gym over the weekend but we are out this afternoon for a long walk with MIL so that will do for my exercise!

Octopus45 · 05/02/2023 19:53

Lovely to see you @swallowedAfly , it sounds as if you are doing really well. Sorry I haven't been around very much, ongoing WiFi issues. Hope everyone has had a good time.

I'm not doing too well with motivation etc at the moment. Had a lurgy for two weeks, not enough steps and like all of us just wanting Winter to be over now. Nevermind, new week.

ScottishBeth · 05/02/2023 20:03

78.6kg this morning. Today has been a disaster - I've not been very well at all and just feeling a bit sorry for myself so indulging. If it's just a one off that's fine. And I'm not eating anywhere near the quantity I would have on a bad day in the past. I also thankfully don't have so many big plans coming up. So that should make the coming week a bit easier.

@LBB2020 that's good the 2lbs came off. And I hope you enjoyed your walk. Just trying to make healthier choices is probably the best - might be hard to keep motivated but much more sustainable when the weight comes off. That's sort of what I'm doing, but it is a bit more structured.

@swallowedAfly sounds like you're doing really well - well done!

@Octopus45 I know how you feel! Hope you feel better soon! And yes, this winter feels like it's going on forever.

ScottishBeth · 10/02/2023 09:57

How is everyone getting on?

I was 77.7kg this morning, which is a 0.9kg loss in 5 days (though I expect there'll be a bit of a gain in the next couple of days).

But that's my next mini goal reached! I have lost 5% of my body weight since new years eve!

LBB2020 · 10/02/2023 13:37

Brilliant well done @ScottishBeth
I forgot to weigh this morning as we overslept and was rushing! Will weigh over the weekend.
My week has been ok, I’ve exercised but diet hasn’t been the best (but not the worst either!). Glad it’s the weekend!

LBB2020 · 15/02/2023 09:43

Morning, how are you all?
We're on half term this week so it’s been a bit crazy! Food hasn’t been great, I’m doing ok during the day but have started rummaging around the cupboards once the children are in bed again! I’m sticking to 3 lots of exercise a week and am starting to enjoy it again!
I didn’t lose any weight last week but at least I didn’t gain! Need to get back some self control!

ScottishBeth · 16/02/2023 14:11

@LBB2020 it's so difficult when you get in the habit of picking at bits in the evening! I imagine half term is insane! But staying the same weight is an achievement itself sometimes! And regular exercise is good.

I haven't been doing too well with food either. DD has been very poorly and it has been exhausting. She's getting better thankfully. And the last couple of days I've been eating better. But she went to her grandma's today and I had lunch out. I'll weigh in at some point over the next few days. But I wouldn't be surprised with a small gain.

ScottishBeth · 17/02/2023 12:10

As I thought I've had a small gain. 0.3kg in a week taking me back up to 78kg. I'm not worried - it'll come off soon. I don't have too many treat meals planned in the next week so should be fine. My period is also due soon so that might not be helping.

LBB2020 · 17/02/2023 15:30

Sorry to hear your DD has been poorly @ScottishBeth. There has been so much illnesses this winter, my children seem to come down with something every other week! Roll on spring/summer!
My Fitbit informed me my period is also due next week, I imagine that’s why I cannot stop eating!
I have a gym class this evening which I’m looking forward to and a yoga class booked for Sunday

Octopus45 · 19/02/2023 10:05

@LBB2020 sounds as if you are doing well. @ScottishBeth hope your daughter feels better soon.

Not doing amazingly here, not enough steps and generally feeling a bit meh, but think Spring may be on its way.

LBB2020 · 19/02/2023 10:21

Morning @Octopus45 it definitely feels like spring is on it way, it’s a lovely morning here. I’ve just got home from my yoga class which I really enjoyed. I feel like I’m getting my exercise mojo back, just need to work on my diet which has not been great at all this week!
I think we’re going to take the children for a walk and play at the park today as they were cooped up at home yesterday while we did things around the house. Hope everyone is well and has a great day
