Flavoursome February

Morning ladies,

Here is the February thread. I'm concentrating on eating healthily this month, mainly cause I've been so lurgied. Weighed in at 9st1 this morning, think that might be about a pound down from the beginning of January. As ever, I would be delighted if I got into the 8st this month. Just booked a holiday in Turkey so hoping to have toned up a bit by then.

Morning. Sorry I forget to check in these days preoccupied with work and health issues.

In positive news I've hit my first goal (though may be a bounce or two to come yet before I really secure it). I'm 10lbs down on this time last month which is great but sense of achievement tempered somewhat by knowing that's still over 20lbs more than this time last year Hmm

Weight just piled back on last year between April and September which is also around the time when I started being unable to get any decent sleep and palpitations and stuff started so 'could' be health related. Tackling it now anyway so onwards and upwards.

Hope you are feeling better Octopus Glad your exercise mojo has returned LB and I'm sure period will make a difference Beth

In case anyone worries or is discouraged by my losing 10lbs bear in mind I have a LOT more spare weight to lose so it's not as dramatic as it sounds if you thought about it in terms of percentage of body fat type measures.

Well done @swallowedAfly that's fantastic!
I’m focusing on exercising and hoping that diet improvements happen naturally (as I won’t want to ruin my hard work!).
I am giving up chocolate and Coke Zero for Lent (I never used to drink fizzy drinks but have gotten into the habit of drinking a can of Vanilla Coke Zero most days).
Booked onto a gym class this evening so I’m looking forward to that (and have 2 other classes booked for this week too!). Fingers crossed I stay motivated!

Hello, I forget to check in too - I have an unhealthy TikTok addiction these days! I’m still keeping up steps/workout/yoga on most days, always hitting two if not all three of those pillars. I tick them off on a calendar like a child because it helps!

My focus is strong/healthy and not weight. I got some new rigid denim jeans in a size “11” the other day and they are big at the waist, so although I still feel chunky I know I must look okay-ish.

@swallowedAfly you have done amazingly ❤️

ScottishBeth · 22/02/2023 21:03

@LBB2020 spring is definitely on the way! It is so nice! I've been for a couple of nice walks through fields and by allotments recently. And have been using a sling for my little girl - so definitely getting a workout. I'm always boiling when we get home!

Well done @swallowedAfly that's an amazing loss! And yes, I will sometimes hover for a bit before I consider a mini-goal ticked off, just to make sure I've consistently made it - but those fluctuations are normal.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I have little charts in my bullet journal and I colour in a square when I've done it - I have one for yoga and one for a walk. We'll the walking one is actually loads of footprints that I drew! Ticking things off gives a little dopamine hit, I think!

LBB2020 · 22/02/2023 22:04

Well done for sticking with the exercise @Judystilldreamsofhorses, you inspired me to get back at it!
I miss carrying my children in a sling @ScottishBeth, it’s definitely a workout! How old is your DD?

ScottishBeth · 23/02/2023 08:55

@LBB2020 she's nearly 18 months. She's quite petite so not too heavy. But we adopted her a few months ago. The sling is fairly new so I haven't been able to build up from when she was tiny! So it is a workout!

LBB2020 · 23/02/2023 09:16

@ScottishBeth oh how lovely, enjoy every second! My youngest is now 2.5 years and is like a little whirlwind, he doesn’t stop from when he wakes up! My eldest (now 5.5yrs) was tiny and didn’t walk until he was 3 so we carried him in a carrier until he was around 3.5yrs. I miss those days!

LBB2020 · 25/02/2023 12:09

How has everyone’s week been?
Mine has been ok! I’ve done two gym classes and have another booked for tomorrow morning, I’ve stuck to no chocolate or fizzy drinks and am trying desperately to drink more water (but still not drinking enough!). My period finally arrived 4 days late so am feeling a bit yuck, need to stay strong and not reach for all the snacks!
Hope everyone is well and has a great weekend

Octopus45 · 25/02/2023 21:09

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. @LBB2020 sounds as if you are doing well. @swallowedAfly ten pounds is fantastic, well done.

Not too much going on here. I'm up a pound or two weight wise at the moment, not enough steps, busy with work etc. Hoping to do a bit better this week.

77.7kg yesterday morning. Which was down a bit on last week but still not great. I'm bouncing around this weight so need a few days concerted effort. Which I will do this week. I haven't been eating too badly, but have had a few more treats than is ideal. Still no more than once per day, and usually less than that. So a million times better than before.

@LBB2020 sounds like a good week! Hopefully you'll feel better with your period soon - actually hope you feel better already!

@Octopus45 it's so difficult when life gets in the way! But a couple of pounds will come off again.
