Hi ladies, here is the new thread for November.

I’m so very sorry for your loss @Octopus45 (and thank you for the new thread) x

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/10/2022 22:58

So very sorry to hear your news @Octopus45 ❤️

mikado1 · 01/11/2022 03:00

So sorry again. Such a hard time. 💐

NutellaEllaElla · 01/11/2022 06:49

Many condolences Octopus

Octopus45 · 01/11/2022 07:57

Thank you for all your condolences, it wasn't unexpected but still very much one day at a time, the funeral is on the 14th.

Unsurprisingly, I dont have any weight aims for this month, weighed 9st0.75 this morning. I might try to get in the habit of drinking more water again as I've been mainlining tea and diet coke even more than usual.

I'm so sorry Octopus. I hope all the arrangements go smoothly as possible. Bless you, nothing useful to say.

I weighed yesterday morning and I'm a shocking 13.7. This is an unbelievably fast explosion of weight and I'm feeling a bit despairing of being able to tackle a situation that feels so out of my hands - don't even know how it's possible to put on so much weight so fast. Ho hum.

Still in the thick of a lot of peri related symptoms that are causing a lot of stress because they make my job loads more challenging etc. Not sure I have it in me to set goals and feel confident of getting anywhere right now but sticking around on the periphery hoping I will be ready soon.

mikado1 · 02/11/2022 06:38

Gosh that's a long wait Octopus, hope you're doing OK. Look after yourself.

Halloween has done a number on me, as usual, so will have to get back on track.

Octopus45 · 02/11/2022 15:14

Thanks for all your condolences. I'm doing okish on the whole, main think is that I'm absolutely knackered, feel as if I'm doddering around like an old lady. Needless to say my steps are right down. I'm grateful for the time to get things sorted out a bit, although we are getting there. Reading the Eulogy with my Sister is going to be very hard, I keep trying to work on it.

@swallowedAfly it sounds as if you are having a rough time with peri. Have you been to your GP to see if they can tweak your HRT at all? I'm sure the weight gain is water and a temporary thing. Try and take care of yourself as best you can, know it isn't always easy.

Another good enough week here thankfully. I don't feel very in control of when i'm on the wagon vs off. It's tough to change a mindset. 1 more week until a mini break when food will be more out of my control.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/11/2022 23:51

@Octopus45 how are you doing?

@swallowedAfly that will 100% be hormonal weight, not real weight. I feel like I am getting back to normal now, a bit, and I am four months since getting the Mirena tomorrow. So happy not to have Carry-On film boobs now!

@NutellaEllaElla keep on trucking.

I’m still off running despite my £££ physio and electric shock therapy thing, but I am doing a 30 day yoga programme (just completed day five) and steps are good. Not weighed myself since I whacked on the Mirena weight though!

LBB2020 · 05/11/2022 10:01

My week has been ok, stayed on track some days but not on others. DS2 has been ill all week and this morning I’ve woken up full of a cold (also due my period in the next few days so feeling very bloated and irritable). I managed a long walk with DS2 asleep in the pushchair yesterday but not much else in terms of exercise so far this week. Will try to do something even if only a short 10 mins core video at home.
Hope everyone is doing ok

NutellaEllaElla · 05/11/2022 14:25

Quick tip for anyone with a sweet tooth. I'm addicted to the Aldi chocolate flavoured protein puddings. Around 150 calories and a big pot of chocolate pudding, very satisfying. The chocolate mousse protein pots are actually twice the size and also lovely.

Octopus45 · 05/11/2022 19:25

I'm doing ok thanks @Judystilldreamsofhorses , its been quite busy with arranging the funeral etc. I went with my bestie to buy something to wear today and I've managed to write the eulogy. @NutellaEllaElla the chocolate protein dessert sounds amazing.

OP posts:
LBB2020 · 06/11/2022 10:53

Keeping busy helps during though times but try to make sure you’re taking some time for yourself @Octopus45
The protein puddings sound great @NutellaEllaElla I’ll have to take a trip to Aldi in the week!
Yesterday wasn’t great, I ate too much rubbish and had a glass of wine whilst watching Strictly last night (never watched previous years but decided I needed some glitz, glam and sparkle in my life!). I paid for it this morning, my stomach was so sore! Weather is horrible today so will probably be a day of pottering around the house

Octopus45 · 11/11/2022 08:56

Hi, just thought I'd check in with everyone. Struggling a bit tbh with the wait for the funeral etc, dont know how the hell I'm going to read the eulogy.

On the weight and exercise front, weight has stayed about the same but I've got no energy. Some days I've managed my steps, not other. Would be great if I went off my food and was completly manic, but I'm the opposite tbh. The highlight of my day is bedtime at the moment.

OP posts:
mikado1 · 12/11/2022 09:55

Ah Octopus, that all sounds so familiar tho I'd find that wait very difficult, we don't do that in Ireland. Thinking of you, I have a feeling you will manage the Eulogy fine. I have been disastrous here food wise, great meals and good exercise but too much sugar on top.

LBB2020 · 12/11/2022 18:11

Sorry you’re going through such an awful time @Octopus45 the long wait for the funeral must be so hard.
My week has been ok, I’ve done a couple of very short exercise videos on YouTube and food hasn’t been a complete disaster but could definitely have been a lot better! I’ve hardly drank any water this week really need to get better at that!

Octopus45 · 12/11/2022 18:26

Thanks @mikado1 and @LBB2020 , I'm feeling a bit better today. Just ordered Dominos though and hardly done any steps today, although I have been running round doing housewok.
@mikado1 the penny's just dropped who you used to be, did you used to be HGHB?

9st1.25 this morning, going out for a family meal tomorrow night before the funeral. Will try and get on a bit more of an even keel next week.

OP posts:
mikado1 · 12/11/2022 18:48

Yes! 😂 I thought you knew! Enjoy your Domino's!

LBB2020 · 12/11/2022 18:49

How funny I’ve just clicked who you were too @mikado1

mikado1 · 12/11/2022 18:56

I did sat I was a superstar DJ 😂

Was it the sugar OD that reminded you both? 😭

Octopus45 · 12/11/2022 20:26

No, it was when you said you were in Ireland, I remembered. I'd been wondering which one you were before an also wondering how you were getting on as I remember you had similar stats and goals to me.

OP posts:
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/11/2022 20:43

Sending love @Octopus45

I’m doing brilliantly on exercise - I do respond well to a set challenge! - with yoga, Bollywood dance workouts, and sitting on 86k steps for the week right now. Trying to eat mindfully but we do have a Papa John’s pizza on the way. I’m not weighing but feel like my body looks much more normal and less like a big bag of hormones!

mikado1 · 12/11/2022 20:58

Well done Judy! ☺
I don't share your stats anymore I'm sure Octopus! I was 9st 5 on last weigh.. As I always say you are amazing at maintaining, almost 3y on!

Octopus45 · 13/11/2022 08:39

@Judystilldreamsofhorses your exercise sounds great. Might need to look up some of the Bollywood dance workouts. You sound as if you are doing really well, glad the hormones are settling down for you.

@mikado1 I've been up and down (a bit) during the last nearly three years since I initially lost some weight. Suspect if I dont start to reign it in, I will have to watch it more soon. Unfortunately when in a crisis I very rarely go off food, I'm just more dependent on sugar than ever. Nevermind, think I will try and focus on doing a bit more exercise in the run up to Christmas.
