Is there anyone else out there who does Slimpod? I have been doing it since 1st Sept and have lost 10lbs. I fully expext this to drastically slow down, but having done calorie counting, slimming world etc in the past I cannot quite believe how easy it is.
I would love to hear from anyone who is much further down the line from me. How is it going?

Hi all. It is good to see this thread still going. I am still doing really well. I started at 14 stone 12 on Sept 1st last year and I am now around the 9 and a half stone range. I don't want or need to lose any more weight. Slimpod had been a life changer for me.

I don't listen to the pod every night anymore, but probably 2-3 times a week. If I am doubting myself and my choices I will give the pod a listen. Helps me to refocus.

I agree with the pp and often wonder why it is not raved about more. But I guess when it comes to weightoss many people like the security of rules . There's no easy way of explaining slimpod as it is about altering mindset around food. People often ask me 'how' I lost weight. I find it so difficult to explain slimpod.

Over the past year I have had at least 2 takeaways a week. I have not worried about what I will eat when out socialising. But the game changer for me I think it I just don't really snack anymore. I have discovered a genuine new love of fruit and veg. And with the help of the pod I am eating mindfully and stopping when full - which is great as I have lots of leftovers which means less cooking the next day!

It is not a magic switch that gets turned on in your brain but I just know that for me it has worked. I listened to the slimpod every night for at least 10 months and watched all the videos. I didnt sign up for 'extra' and been successful (and better off!) without it. Obviously the real proof will be the future and if I do my usual of piling all the weight back on. Time will tell.

But I really enjoy reading all your journeys. Good luck everyone!

That is so fantastic to hear how well you've done.

That is brilliant progress you must be so pleased! It's really encouraging to us newbies as well to hear about success stories. Long may it continue!

I did a couch to 5 k walk/ run this morning - started at week 2 as I’ve done it before (never actually got past week 4 or so though) and knew week 1 would be a bit too easy. Actually found the week 2 one really easy too but I will stick with it and do two more before moving on.

Ive lost 3 inches off my waist - have I said that on here already?

Also I ordered and it came yesterday one of those headband earphone things - I like to listen as I’m falling asleep and whack it back on whenever my toddler wakes me up and it’s taking me a while to get back to sleep (which is often!) Had the old type headphones with wires into phone before, which I’d get tangled in or would dig in if I tried to roll on my side, so this headband is super comfy and a game changer! Also doubled as an eye mask when I pulled it down.

Ordered some dresses in size down for my upcoming holiday they arrived today. Don’t think they will fit yet but going to try them on to see later.

I have been looking at this - is it just the 4 recordings? That seems not much for £99 - am a missing something?

Twilbury · 14/08/2023 15:15

Room for another?

I signed up for this today , something needs to change in my mindset and I am hoping this is going to help. I have 4 or 5 stone to lose which is hideous but I have to start somewhere.

It is great to read some positive stories on here.

User12340000 · 14/08/2023 17:39

Welcome @Twilbury!

Well done for signing up, let us know what you think of it as you go along and how you get on. We can use this as a support thread of sorts Smile

Initially it’s the slimpod recording (which is the only one you have to listen to every day) and the chill one.

As the weeks go on you get a sugar one (which some people say doesn’t work for them/ makes them worse but there’s a whole explanation and advice about how and whether to use it).

And then a fitness one in week 9 or so.

You get coaching videos - 5 or so a week - and various other resources that go with them. I have to admit I find them slightly cheesy but there’s no doubt there’s some good info in there too. You work through them at your own pace and more are unlocked each week. Most are Sandra the founder chatting through various aspects of the course/ the psychology of it/ different things that impact our eating/ weight gain/ ability to lose weight - like hormones, menopause etc as well as the mental blocks. With advice and tips. Sometimes there will be a guest speaker eg a chef who focuses on wellness crops up a few times, or a member who has been successful and has some advice to share.

You get access to the Facebook group and there’s a live once a week you can join. You also get invited to one zoom call with Sandra in the early weeks (I missed mine so can’t speak for it!) and another in weeks 9-12, where you can ask specific questions etc.

And then there’s weekly zooms or ‘gold gatherings’ run by members if thats
your thing too.

How does the not weighing work? I have lost a stone or so with WW and am contemplating whether to continue as I can feel myself becoming food-focused which I don't think is helpful. I don't mind the programme and am happy with weight loss but find the need to think about choices all the time hard to sustain. Would like to lose another stone or so, but if I don't weigh, how do I stay motivated?

wetwiped · 15/08/2023 08:58

@Babana123 brilliant to hear your update, really positive and encouraging.
I had a rough day yesterday at a funeral with lots of eating and drinking. Listened to pod before bed and about to again now as I actually am starting to like his voice and I find it puts me in the right frame of mind to start the day.
Will be interesting to see if I stay motivated after having a day "off" as usually this would be potentially be a trigger for continuing with bad choices.
I was a little surprised there is only one weight loss pod to be honest. There are no new pods until week 5.
Anyone joined the live Wednesday (I think?) chats with Sandra?

Erinsmumm · 15/08/2023 12:36

Live chat, no thanks I’ll stay hidden.
I had an odd day too, had half a sandwich at lunchtime, which was enough but by the time I got in from work I was hungry and grabbing anything and still ate dinner.

DaisyWaldron · 15/08/2023 18:54

@LaurelGrove you are encouraged to look for other ways of measuring success. The main weight loss one is measurements, either using a tape measure, or a target garment which doesn't fit yet, or lengths of ribbon cut to your starting measurements. I'm also looking at my blood pressure and frequency of binge eating.

I tended to weigh myself once a fortnight or so but have never had an official weigh in day. I went through a stage of weighing every day but the fluctuations are insane. I could gain, lose and gain 3lbs in 48 hours. Logically we all know that isn't fat loss or gain, but the scales have such a power. My main motivation was having an item of clothing hanging on the outside of my wardrobe that I couldn't get into. The feeling you get when it finally fits is fantastic.

I signed up yesterday... inspired by all your success and really fed up with failing on traditional diets. Listened to my first pod last night in bed.... didn't fall asleep but can't remember what he said either which is weird.

Erinsmumm · 18/08/2023 12:17

Stick with it, if found intermittent fasting has become much easier again.

wetwiped · 22/08/2023 21:03

I've just finished the zoom meeting with Sandra and really would recommend. I didn't have my camera on, incognito! But it was a very positive and motivating meeting. Made the whole thing "real" for me.
My constant hunger on an evening has waned without a doubt and i *think I am feeling fuller sooner.
Got to go now, Trevor is waiting Halo hope everyone is having a good week so far.

DaisyWaldron · 22/08/2023 22:14

I was there, too :)

Erinsmumm · 23/08/2023 07:12

I had zoom invite for yesterday too. Decided against it, I really dislike those ‘zoom’ meetings.
I’m on week 4, going ok still

User12340000 · 23/08/2023 09:13

How do you get the invite for the Zoom meetings? I might pop along next week and see what it's like although I will definitely be camera off and lurking!

Erinsmumm · 23/08/2023 12:44

Sandra invites you with a link and password. Get it week 4-6 and later on too.

User12340000 · 30/08/2023 07:37

Is anyone else having issues logging in to Slimpod? I've been getting 'service temporarily unavailable' since last night?

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 30/08/2023 11:33

@User12340000 my log on seems to be working ok.

cameldigits · 31/08/2023 17:17

I definitely did. I barely used it to be fair. I was happy listening to slimpod every night and still listen from time to time and watching the videos. I didnt even do the '3 wins' things either as that is so not me and a bit cringe imo.

I keep starting and getting bored and stopping. I have a noisy house, very little time to myself and finding time/space to listen to the pods has been hard.

When I do listen, I do find my willpower improves. So there's definitely something in it.

DaisyWaldron · 01/09/2023 05:12

I get a bit annoyed in the FB group when people post consumed with guilt about having eaten crisps, or getting on some daddy food or exercise wagon, but I do enjoy reading about people who've been doing it for a long time, and also I've been inspired to make layered mason jar salads for lunch which is having an extremely beneficial effect on my mornings as I've just started a new job which means I have to leave the house an hour and a half earlier than I used to.
