Is there anyone else out there who does Slimpod? I have been doing it since 1st Sept and have lost 10lbs. I fully expext this to drastically slow down, but having done calorie counting, slimming world etc in the past I cannot quite believe how easy it is.
I would love to hear from anyone who is much further down the line from me. How is it going?

Just wanted to check in here to say I started Slimpod yesterday.

I'm interested to see if it will work as it's totally different to anything else I've tried.

I've got about 1 stone and a half I'd like to lose.

Will report in here to let folks know how I get on as I think it will help hold me accountable.

DaisyWaldron · 31/07/2023 12:42

I'm a week in and enjoying it so far. I haven't eaten chocolate since the first day, and gave mostly lost the desire to snack.

Erinsmumm · 31/07/2023 13:00

Just signed up again for the trial,‘can’t stop eating…..

wetwiped · 05/08/2023 15:07

How is everyone finding this? I listened to the first pod last night and watched the videos.
Really hoping it's the turning point for me...

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 05/08/2023 17:00

9 weeks in. No changes here

Erinsmumm · 05/08/2023 18:35

Definitely eaten less, 🤞🏻

User12340000 · 06/08/2023 14:00

I've nearly completed the first week.

So far I haven't snacked at all during the day (I WFH so normally always making a trip to the cupboards) and in the evening I just have a cup of tea.

I seemed to have lost interest in eating sugar too which is a miracle.

The only thing I haven't really changed is the meals I'm eating - standard family friendly fayre.

I also feel less bloated.

Im going to try and resist weighing myself until the end of the 30 day trial.

Bit concerned though as go on holiday and the end of the week so not sure how it will go.

wetwiped · 06/08/2023 16:50

On the whole it sounds quite promising. I've only just started and have listened for the past three nights. Anyone joined a zoom chat yet or the fb page?

User12340000 · 06/08/2023 21:16

I'm not on Facebook but im considering starting an account just to have access to the support on the group.

DaisyWaldron · 06/08/2023 21:43

I'm on holiday and I've eaten lots when going out for meals with my extended family (lots, as in two courses and some wine) but the rest of the time I've had really healthy eating patterns. I haven't wanted to eat ice cream or chocolate or sweets or endless cheese.

AliasGrape · 09/08/2023 09:40

I find the Facebook group quite helpful although it’s often fairly ‘diet-y’ with people posting about how very little they eat/ intermittent fasting/ upfs are the devil/ carbs are bad - reminds me of mumsnet actually!

I’ve noticed as I’ve worked through the videos too that there are increasing ‘diety’ messages for something that’s apparently not a diet - Sandra plugs intermittent fasting a few times and there’s a fair amount of ‘carbs are bad’ scattered throughout.

That said - most of it is really good and helpful and I just tend to ignore the things that don’t work for me/ feel a bit ‘triggering’ for want of a better word. Funnily enough I’ve sort of fallen into an IF pattern a bit myself naturally - although I don’t stress it, I eat breakfast if I feel hungry/ feel I need it.

We were away last week and it started really well - lots and lots of steps, healthier choices for meals and ignoring the various ice creams etc on offer. As the week went on it went a bit awry, some less active days, a few ice creams, ate the biscuits in the hotel room. Was worried that it had ‘stopped working’ but since I’ve been home I’ve just naturally come back to it - exercising with my YouTube vids again, not snacking, healthier meals.

I am nowhere near being able to stop when I’m full yet though - made a really delicious dinner last night, definitely knew I was full but finished it anyway because it was so nice! That’s one to work on.

Erinsmumm · 09/08/2023 12:46

Had my dinner last night, not hungry afterwards but still finished off a packet of mixed nuts - better than biscuits. Need to work on the not eating when not hungry.

wetwiped · 09/08/2023 12:48

I almost felt like I was going to leave some breakfast this morning, but did polish it all off!. I very rarely feel full after a meal and portion size is an issue, but it struck me a third of the way through my boiled egg sandwich this morning that I was actually feeling like I didn't want anymore. Wonder if it's the start of a shift in mindset. Hope so.
It's good to hear you managed to feel in control when on holiday Alias and Daisy. That's a big win.

Erinsmumm · 09/08/2023 16:30

Managed not to eat before work at 1. Usually I’d have had 4 slices of toast.
bonus

DaisyWaldron · 10/08/2023 22:02

I came back from holiday today and just had a bath before bed and for the first time in ages my arse didn't dam up the bath. Which means I lost a significant amount of weight while on holiday and indulging in holiday eating.

Erinsmumm · 11/08/2023 07:10

Forgot all about watching ‘week 2’ videos until yesterday so a binge watch with a black coffee. I’ve paid my first instalment. I was thinking about overnight oats and having them for lunch, but until I lose my sweet tooth, I’d have to have them with fruit, I’ll stick with homemade Wholemeal/seeded bread & cheese/any protein, fancied and had sardines yesterday - weird. Downloaded ‘Life’ fasting app, aiming for minimum of 16 hours. Means I can have brunch if necessary. Decided to rejoin the FB group but I wish they didn’t allow photos of food.

wetwiped · 11/08/2023 18:26

I feel quite positive about how things are going. It's very early days so I'm trying to be realistic as I quickly fall off the wagon, but, I've not eaten anything sweet (except apples and stewed rhubarb which I had with high protein yogurt) This includes a last minute Greggs lunch today, when usually I would've picked up a sugary treat.
@Erinsmumm overnight oats always seem to make me really hungry for the rest of the day. I did Zoe recently and found oats were really not great for my gut.

User12340000 · 13/08/2023 08:46

I've just come to the end of week 2.

Im on holiday at the mo (self catering) and am trying to make better choices when we are out for the day.

I have completed stopped eating in the evenings and haven't felt the need to snack which is the biggest thing I struggle with.

When I get back home I need to start exercising properly. I'm still tempted to join the FB group but also don't want to see loads of pictures of food, especially when the coaching video I've just watched is about food obsession!

I'm glad to hear it's going well for others too. It's definitely the most different 'lifestyle change/diet type thing' that I've done that's for sure!

DaisyWaldron · 13/08/2023 16:24

I just went into town to get a treat for a nice self- indulgent day before starting my new job on Tuesday and it wasn't until I was on my way home that I realised I hadn't even considered a food-based treat, but bought some stuff to do my nails instead.

EuniceLopril · 13/08/2023 18:28

I'm seriously thinking to give this a try. Currently I can't stop eating, it's really getting me down. Have tried everything else. Need to lose around 4st but would be happy with 2st.

Can anyone give me an idea how much time I would need to spend on the programme itself each day, not including food prep etc, just how long for the pods, videos etc?

Also any more updates from people who already started?

Erinsmumm · 13/08/2023 19:37

It’s about 9 minutes to listen to the ‘pod’ but you can do it any time, some do it just before sleep. Doesn’t matter if you listen as it’s talking to your subconscious.
The weekly videos probably about 30 minutes but can watch when you want.

Oh that sounds good, thanks for your reply,

wetwiped · 13/08/2023 20:57

I've just paid for the 30 day refundable first month. I am surprised at how well this has worked for me so far, but very wary of being too enthusiastic as I've tried (and failed at) so many eating plans in the past. Time will tell.

I listen to the pod either evening or sometimes with my morning coffee and just have not snacked as much on an evening as I would have done.
Generally I am never full, have second helpings and sweet cravings....both stopped this week. I really hope it lasts. I keep thinking though, if it works this well, why is it not raved about and more popular? Just seems too good to be true...

Babana123 · 14/08/2023 06:29

Hi all. It is good to see this thread still going. I am still doing really well. I started at 14 stone 12 on Sept 1st last year and I am now around the 9 and a half stone range. I don't want or need to lose any more weight. Slimpod had been a life changer for me.

I don't listen to the pod every night anymore, but probably 2-3 times a week. If I am doubting myself and my choices I will give the pod a listen. Helps me to refocus.

I agree with the pp and often wonder why it is not raved about more. But I guess when it comes to weightoss many people like the security of rules . There's no easy way of explaining slimpod as it is about altering mindset around food. People often ask me 'how' I lost weight. I find it so difficult to explain slimpod.

Over the past year I have had at least 2 takeaways a week. I have not worried about what I will eat when out socialising. But the game changer for me I think it I just don't really snack anymore. I have discovered a genuine new love of fruit and veg. And with the help of the pod I am eating mindfully and stopping when full - which is great as I have lots of leftovers which means less cooking the next day!

It is not a magic switch that gets turned on in your brain but I just know that for me it has worked. I listened to the slimpod every night for at least 10 months and watched all the videos. I didnt sign up for 'extra' and been successful (and better off!) without it. Obviously the real proof will be the future and if I do my usual of piling all the weight back on. Time will tell.

But I really enjoy reading all your journeys. Good luck everyone!

I paid my first instalment on Wednesday. I tried SlimPod a couple of years ago and asked for a refund, I wasn’t committed enough.
it seems different this time and I’m determined to stick with it. Lost weight about 5 years ago with alternate day fasting, struggle to get to 20 hours now, but I’m using ‘life’ app and aim for 16/18 hours. Hope that combined with SP I’ll be better motivated. I’ve eaten more protein though and not had any jam, picked cheese for my homemade bread. Made fruit cake and I had 3 slices, not all at once.
I am a work in progress as they say.
