Hi just wondering if there is any new threads with the Fast 800 keto diet? I started yesterday and I'd like to join a group to keep me saneSmile

Hi - I’ve just ordered it. Have you tried his other diets? I’ve not really done them properly but fatter than ever so need to make a change.
How are you finding it so far?

SeptemberDreams · 05/01/2022 15:12

I heard him talking with Jeremy Vine about it the other day on radio 2. I think it sounds great and keen to follow elements of it if possible, not going to do it fully as still breastfeeding. However, I did his Blood Sugar Diet a couple of years ago (in solidarity with my mum who I was living with at the time and is Type 2, something I want to avoid) and it was amazing! I lost 9lbs in the 8 weeks I did it. I found the recipes really tasty and genuinely satisfying. The salads I brought into work seemed to have me munching away forever plus there were nice dinners to looks forward to like steak with a red wine/crème fraîche sauce with salad. It’s the healthiest I’ve ever felt although I didn’t find a way to maintain it afterwards which was the downfall, should have started 5:2 perhaps!

LucyLatimer · 05/01/2022 15:52

I’m giving it a try, I wonder if the keto aspect will make it easier to stick to than the original

LeafyGreen333 · 06/01/2022 06:50

I'm going to start it on Monday, would love to join a support thread to help get through! Thought it might be easier to do while wfh as I can make meals at times to suit me. My friend lost 2 stone on the FAST800 method and it's inspired me to do the keto version.

daisymade · 06/01/2022 06:54

I've just ordered it after listening to him on JV earlier this week.

I've started running again since I slowly got out of momentum last November, but I need a structured diet to him me and this sounded brilliant!

Blood Sugar Diet & Fast 800 Diet | Thread 23 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/fasting_diet/4254566-blood-sugar-diet-fast-800-diet-thread-23

I have jumped on to the long running thread in the 5:2 section above - be great to join us? I am on day 6 and have lost 6.5 lbs so far. Managed under 40g carbs and over 50g protein every day but my calories are averaging at just over 1000 - clearly every day is a hungry day for me. In all seriousness it's been a great reset for me and most on it I have been for years.

Good luck every one!

Janeaustensquill · 06/01/2022 18:35

Wow, that’s encouraging. I’ve just got the book and read the intro. I see MM has moved towards the belief that ultra processed foods are the real villain for weight gain - similar to the Why we eat too much thread. I’m encouraged by the belief that we won’t have a metabolic slowdown if we eat enough protein as I’d really like to shift at least a stone quite quickly. I’ve got 4.5 stone to get rid of and I feel so uncomfortable.
I’d be happy to join a thread here to support people doing Fast Keto as well as the other thread

Ayeshstar2020 · 06/01/2022 20:54

I’ve started this (2 Jan). Would be great to have a group for solidarity! I’m planning on doing stage 1 for 3 weeks only (you can go up to 12 weeks) to lose part of the stone I gained in lockdown (I actually don’t want to shift the whole thing as having 3 more kilos seems quite good tbh). Have been following the recipes in the book from the two meal a day plan and stuck religiously to it. No cheating!

Ayeshstar2020 · 06/01/2022 20:57

Feeling good so far. Moments of lightheaded ness but nothing too bad and not particularly hungry but have to say have been thinking N wistfully of the hotel chocolat chocolates i got for Xmas or a chocolate digestive after this afternoon’s walk. I am sleeping much better strangely and not feeling tired when getting up. Also in a better mood! It’s going well but I wouldn’t want to do it forever. A good reset tho… I could eat a loaf of bread over two days and churned through biscuits etc

Holly7515 · 07/01/2022 18:15

Hi, just ordered his books to start the 800 keto so would be great to join a group

QueefofSheena · 09/01/2022 13:59

I’m going to give this a try from tomorrow. I know I’ve been eating to much sugar and drinking too much, so I need to reset. Lunches for work were my worry but I’ll start by making versions of the frittata and take some in on my days in the office.

Newnamefor2022 · 09/01/2022 17:29

I've just started it. A keto thread sounds a great idea.

Ayeshstar2020 · 09/01/2022 21:04

Shall we just keep this thread or shall I start a new one? I will have done a week tomorrow. Never dieted before so Chuffed have stuck to it. Think I will have lost just over 0.5kg. Not that much but I guess everyone is different

Chisontoast · 09/01/2022 21:08

Just got the book and very keen to start! Have a stone to lose but zero willpower

Vickster79 · 10/01/2022 21:45

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted anything, to be honest didn't think anyone had seen my post! Anyhow, I'm on day 8 and have lost 5lbs this week which is a great step in the right direction. I need to lose 2st which I've put on over the past three years with two pregnancies. My babies are 2 and 1. They are turning 3 and 2 this year. I got pregnant with the second one 6 months after the first one so never lost the baby weight then just added to it. How is everyone finding it? I found it hard going with headaches and feeling cold, and being very snappy with the kids. Hopefully this will pass, well the snappiness does when the kids are asleep Grin I'd love to hear how you are getting on Smile

I’ve only been doing it for a couple of days but I’m peeing like mad, no headaches yet. I think I could get very fed up with eggs very quickly, so I have been working out some things to take for lunch instead. Today I took peppered mackerel with a few cooked green beans.

Vickster79 · 12/01/2022 12:32

I've been having vegetable soup most days, I made a big batch of it so it's quick and easy. I've drank more to day than normal, and I'm too peeing like a race horse!

How are you getting on OP, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just reading the vook bracing myself to start and found your thread. I've been eating LCHF for a couplw of years now but recently have fallen back into old habits. Hoping this is the reset I need to get me back into ketosis and into good habits!
Vickster79 · 16/01/2022 19:03

Hi TheChild, I'm getting on ok with it. I'm still waiting for the boost of energy everyone talks about but I might not realise I have it with my two! Weigh in is tomorrow so I can let you know how much I've lost then. I'm off to France a week on Tuesday, that's going to be the most testing, all that beautiful bread and wine!

How many eggs you can eat on a day fast 800 ketos? does anyone know? I can't imagine a diet without eggs

Hope the weigh in went well! I will eagerly await the burst of emergy, although I have 2 young beasties so might be waiting a while just like you! Resisting all the delicious bread and croissants, agh! I know if I went on holiday I would let myself go crazy and then struggle to get back on the wagon

You can eat eggs, you just have to count the calories in them.
QueefofSheena · 17/01/2022 22:37

I’ve lost 7 pounds so far. I know that will be mainly water though. I’m not following the recipes in the book, just counting the cals in my protein and adding a small amount of green stuff or a few mushrooms if I’m having eggs. The worst part is the lack of interesting drinks as I’ve only been drinking black coffee or water. I need to find an alternative

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 17/01/2022 22:41

I'm interested in this but I'm intolerant to eggs. What can you substitute for them?
