Hi just wondering if there is any new threads with the Fast 800 keto diet? I started yesterday and I'd like to join a group to keep me saneSmile

It’s only the breakfast recipes that involve eggs so there’s plenty else for lunch or dinner and also other options for breakfast. So not eating eggs isn’t a problem

I'm four months in to a Keto diet, no cheating/ breaks and I must say it's the best thing I've ever done. Amy Berger's blog is good starting point.
I haven't looked at Mosley's book yet but I'm really happy someone more mainstream is an advocate as it's viewed as a fad by most.

I never likes to follow keto diet for weight loss. Because it will cause few side effects. So I m stay away from this diet.

But still likes to comment on EVERY Keto thread Hmm

That’s so interesting TenPenceMix…. Can you say more about what the benefits are. I’m finding my moods are greatly stabilised because of the reduction in blood sugar swings. Also no bloating which is amazing. I’m still on the fast 800 stage 1 though so I’m a significant calorific deficit (800-900 kcal each day) so that might affect the bloating but I’m not sure.

Ayeshstar2020 · 18/01/2022 20:23

@TenPenceMix sorry the above was aimed at you

Ayeshstar2020 · 18/01/2022 20:26

I understand why people criticise keto as I was skeptic so before I tried Mosley’s approach but now having done it and also reading around it, I wouldn’t say I’m a “convert” just that I think it’s legitimate particularly for those with blood sugar issues. I find it scary to think how many carbs I ate previously not to mention sugar

What is the difference between fast 800 Keto and the regular fast800?

SnowAndIcicles · 18/01/2022 20:35

I'd like to join in please, I have 2 stone to lose and have just ordered the book.

Vbree · 18/01/2022 20:36

I've just bought the book today. It's £4.99 in WH Smith's at the moment!

I’m no expert on Fast800 but I think it’s the mainly eating protein. I’m finding it it fairly easy so far but I’m looking forward to the carb cycling stage where you can increase the cals for a few days, and not be quite so rigid
TenThousandSteps · 19/01/2022 09:29

Just found this thread and would like to follow. Just ordered the book as I need to lost a few stone and MM says losing a couple of stone quickly is a motivator to then lose the rest. Can anyone give me an idea of a typical day's meals (book arrives tomorrow)?

TheChild · 19/01/2022 13:27

I'm on day 3 of the official Fast 800, does anyone else feel cold all the time?! The first 2 days were fine but today I am hungry. I'm only eating a main meal and a snack on an evening because I can never sleep if I'm hungry. Usually I'm fine waiting until dinner as I've done OMAD (One meal a day) before but today I just want lots of delicious food.

jeffersonsam · 19/01/2022 14:05

Oh no...Did you join with me or not @QueefofSheena

Hello all - I'm also on day 3 of Fast800 and have just found this thread. Fast800 seems to be pretty protein based anyway, is the keto book much different?

@TheChild I'm finding it tough to stick to the 800 limit - I didn't manage it day 1 and 2 but did yesterday mostly because I was so busy that I didn't get round to eating until 5pm. I'm also trying to drink alot of water. Have seen a couple of kilos drop already, but have got some new scales today which weigh heavier than the old ones so the weight loss won't appear to be so dramatic. The weekend will be tougher for me.

Good luck with it, it's been ok for me so far (official day 4 and no headache!) I would normally wait until dinner time for my first meal but today I wad just HUNGRY, sitting watching TV thinking about nothing but food and wanting to stuff my face with the kids treats. Decided to make a huge salad with some crunchy kale, soft boiled eggs and an olive oil and apple cider vinegar dressing and it was really nice.

I like that he says not to track calories of green leafy veg and to fill your plate, when I've tried to track my macros before I would meticulously weigh all my food including veg, it was a bloody pain!

Well done on the weight loss, I've decided on a weekly weigh in. I asked DH to record my weight as I knew if I saw how much I'd put on I would get upset, beat myself up and then self sabotage with biscuits. So he is keeping a track of my weight just so I know it's going down but I have given him strict instructions not to give me any numbers.

I started the Fast 800 Keto on Monday and have already lost a couple of pounds. I have done low carb diets before and have found them really easy to stick to - however lockdowns had me eating more and more carbs!! so the weight piled on. Looking forward to getting back into the currently redundant part of my wardrobe :)
