Hello and a warm welcome to new & established members. July already! Lockdown easing and an end in sight! Hallelujah! Let’s embrace the summer and extending freedoms feeling like our best selves.

This thread is for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The members of these threads are inspirational, supportive and happy to share their progress (the ups and the downs).

We all know that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will reap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a healthy cycle.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. Personally, I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I try to not overload on carbs etc, include a protein source with most meals and aim to glug enough water. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding. We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. I’ve weighed daily at times and weekly at other times. Do what works for you.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

Glad you managed to sort your keyboard problem @TheRealHousewife!

I’m finishing July with a 3 kg/7 lbs loss 🥳 I’ve also lost more than an inch off my waist, which means that the size 12 jeans I bought at the start of the month (and which were REALLY tight) now fit perfectly!

My FitBit score has gone up by two points this month. I expect that will go down again, but it’s nice to be in the “very good” category, if only for a little while. And I’ve met my 30 plant foods a week target every week since I introduced this. It’s been a good month 😊

That’s fantastic progress @Crazzzycat, bloody well done 👏 💥👍🌟

Wow @Crazzzycat - that’s a fantastic loss! There’s nothing better than a good fitting pair of jeans - especially if they’ve been a bit tight before!

Wow @Crazzzycat! Well done you! So pleased for you StarStar.

I've been crazy busy. Didn't sleep well, had to go down at 3am to get a drink and took ages to get back to sleep then up early to walk the dog for an hour and half. I then did 4.5 hours in the garden and ten minutes ago finally had lunch!

@joysmoy66 Yarmouth isn't somewhere I've ever been to funnily enough. And I've lived all over Uk.

Have a great time

@Juno231 I'm not a super crafty person but I do enjoy doing my cross stitch, I can knit a bit, sew, tapestry, sometimes make cards...

@Crazzzycat great loss! Well done! That's amazing lovely to be able to fit into jeans too. Having a bit of a mare with jeans myself here too. Hopefully resolved soon.
