June challenge

Tomorrow I will start what I've been putting off all year. Am frightened to actually step on the scales tomorrow but I must do this, my goal is to be fit enough to run the London marathon in October.
Not sure yet what my approach will be but definitely less booze and more sensible eating.
I'd love some support to help keep on track if there are any others wanting to join me?

fingersdoublecrossed keep positive! You can do this!
runningkatie 1lb is a step in the right direction well done!
I was too chicken to step on the scales this morning. I will be brave tomorrow!

Morning!
The sun is shining in my part of the world and I'm off work!!!
Down a pound from yesterday but still a pound up from Sunday.
I'm trying to hold off having anything to eat until I've worked out my plans for the rest of the day.

LambLamb · 08/06/2021 21:44

Still struggling and going though my usual period of not bothering. Joining the gym tomorrow to try to get some exercise in.

fingersdoublecrossed · 08/06/2021 22:15

@LambLamb that sounds like a good idea. What kind of exercise do you enjoy at the gym?
I've given up my gym membership during the last lockdown. I relied on the children's activities and children's classes in order to be able to have a good workout myself and they stopped all the classes due to Covid so I couldn't really go. When I did,I just ended up bobbing about in the children's pool so I wasn't actually exercising.
We might join again at some point but my other half has invested in gym equipment for home now so I don't think he's bothered.

I've had a good day, I think. Very tired though. Hoping for a downwards shift on the scales tomorrow.

LambLamb · 08/06/2021 22:29

I think it doesn't help that I have pcos and possibly an underactive thyroid ( waiting on doc to confirm). I am putting on a lb a week or so but not sure why as I am not doing anything different.

Pentiumgold · 09/06/2021 07:42

Good morning
Don't give up lamblamb our bodies can be horribly complicated but you can and will shift the weight.
I'm now down 4lbs since June 1st and have started running again. Still feels a long journey ahead though and if dd passes her driving test today we're going to the pub to celebrate 🍾.
Have a great day everyone

I’ve not weighed in yet as my scales need new batteries so going to get some today and will wait until Friday now to weigh myself. I’m not holding out much hope of having lost any weight to be honest as I really can’t seem to stop eating at the moment Blush (in my defence I am still breastfeeding)

RunningKatie · 09/06/2021 10:07

I started watching the 21 day body turnaround yesterday whilst trying to defeat the ironing pile. I think I'm going to try the intermittent fasting again, they also did HIIT classes but with dodgy feet I am not great at impact stuff. I need to come up with a good alternative.

fingersdoublecrossed · 09/06/2021 14:14

I'm the same weight again today. At least it hasn't gone up. Getting a bit annoyed that things aren't happening faster, especially because I feel like I'm denying myself during my time off work.
I won't give up, though!
Anyway, how's everyone else?

fingersdoublecrossed · 10/06/2021 10:01

Weight has gone back up a pound today. WTF?!

RunningKatie · 10/06/2021 12:56

I am drinking water, walking lots, eating better.
But last night I was out and nothing nice fitted, I felt awkward all evening although I had a great catchup with friends.

LBB2020 · 10/06/2021 19:18

I keep putting off meeting up with people I haven’t seen for a while/since DC2 was born as I feel so uncomfortable with the way I look Sad I’m glad you had a great catch up though @RunningKatie

fingersdoublecrossed · 10/06/2021 19:34

@RunningKatie @LBB2020 I know exactly where you're coming from but life's too short. Get out and enjoy yourself. I need to do the same.

LBB2020 · 11/06/2021 18:46

I still haven’t weighed myself as my scales are completely dead even after replacing the batteries! I’ve eaten terribly today so it’s probably a good thing I can’t weigh myself Blush I’m actually embarrassed thinking of all the rubbish I’ve eaten!
Hope everyone has had a better day and that you all have a good weekend x

RunningKatie · 11/06/2021 20:05

Happy Friday! I was going to have a gin today but instead will just have the tonic. Not quite the same!
Hope everyone has a good weekend. Smile

fingersdoublecrossed · 13/06/2021 23:29

Hi!
Rubbish few days for me but I'm ready to start again. Had an ok day today and will start again properly tomorrow.

LBB2020 · 14/06/2021 07:18

Good morning, I’m starting again today! I ate terribly all weekend but I did walk a lot. Hope everyone had a great weekend Smile

RunningKatie · 14/06/2021 07:48

Morning!
Weighed in and I'm now 5lb down since beginning of June. Got to keep focussed this week, it's so warm - there's an ice cream in the freezer with my name on it!

LBB2020 · 16/06/2021 21:59

Well done @RunningKatie! 5lbs is a brilliant loss in just a couple of weeks!
Hope everyone else is doing ok
