Yorkiegirl, did you get my e-mail? Did the suggestion on the e-mail not work? I wonder if the spreadsheet is just too big now, I am clueless my DH is the Excel expert. Do you know how to get the hidden columns back? DH not here just now but I will ask him when I can whether you should hide more columns or delete some of the hidden columns, as I don't suppose there is any benefit in keeping months and months worth of data anyway.

gothicmama · 31/10/2004 08:27

if you are stuck email it over adn I will sort it - maybe we could start another file if it is to big now

miam · 02/11/2004 08:31

Another pound gone by the looks of it... Does anyone else weigh themselves every day? I find that if I wait for a week then have not lost anything despite having been good, it puts me right off the diet. If I weigh myself every day, I dont have that same shock - it just gives me added incentive to be better that day! I know about the fluid thing, but it works for me.

LunarSea · 02/11/2004 10:01

miam - I do (although I only actually record/"count" the results once a week), and it was partly being able to correlate what I'd had, with the daily effect which helped to work out that wheat was such a big factor for me.

Not looking good this week though, as I succumbed to half a toasted teacake (with butter) on Sunday after I'd bought it for ds while we were out and he decided not to eat it all. Half a teacake = + 4lbs the next day

Looks like you meant it about me having to do the poem for this week. It's not very good though (so hopefully you won't want me to do it again!).

There were some big mamas on mumsnet
Who had realised with some regret
That a surfeit of chips
Gives you big thighs, tummy and hips
So now it's salads all round, don't forget

miam - I do most days and then count the lowest score as the weekly total! but now I know I weigh least on Wednesdays.

am hoping to reach my first stone off this week. am down nearly one clothes size, so can just about squeeze into pre-pregnancy clothes. it's Ok as long as I don't want to eat that day

miam · 02/11/2004 10:43

Way to go Fennel - that's brilliant! Think of all those new clothes you can buy!

Lunarsea lol - your poem is great. No arguments, we can take it in turn! Love the wibbly lines too - how do you do that?

Fennel · 02/11/2004 10:53

miam - I have a whole wardrobe I am waiting to wear again. it will be a couple of years out of date but am looking forward to it anyway.

lunarsea - but not McDonalds salads which are more calorific than chips, apparently!

SpringChicken · 02/11/2004 12:32

Is it too late for someone else to join???

I was doing really well loosing weight after DD's birth but now i appear to have just stopped and am finding it harder and harder to be good with my eating!

If i can join in, what do i need to do?

Hulababy · 02/11/2004 20:13

Can I rejoin please?

I have now put back on almost all of the weight I lost at the start of the year but would desperately love to lose some of it again before Christmas. Also, think that losing weight and being a bit healthier might help with thee TTC.

Not sure how or what I e-mail again. Got weighed Monday morning, but is their a specific day still?

Thank you!

I've lost another pound since yesterday bringing me to a whole stone at last

sadly it's mainly due to obsessive over-stressing about the US election - would rather be fat and Bush lose, actually

LunarSea · 03/11/2004 10:43

Miam - this is all your fault! Having forced me to start thinking of poetry, here's a song instead.......

Presenting, the mumsnet mamas Christmas Carol (the tune should be fairly obvious)

ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸
Hark! the mumsnet mamas sing,
?What we want is to be thin!;
Fight the flab, and lose that fat,
Salads now, not chocolate!
Why don't you join in our diet?
You won't know until you try it,
How those pounds will disappear,
You'll have smaller tum and rear?.

Refrain

Hark! the mumsnet mamas sing,
?What we want is to be thin!?

If you're wanting to be thinner
Take care choosing what's for dinner.
Always count those calories,
Cut back on the wine and cheese.
Fruit and veg is fine aplenty
Eat them till your plate is empty,
Then you won't need naughty treats
Like sticky cakes, nuts and sweets.

Refrain

ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸

Now over to you to add some more verses!

LunarSea · 03/11/2004 15:45

Oh well - if nonone else is going to write any more.... (can you tell I'm a bit bored at work today?)

¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸

Till pounds have gone for ever more
On carrot sticks we will gnaw.
Melon, rhubarb, pears we'll choose
Sadly we'll stay off the booze.
Still we know it's not for ever
We can do this, stick together
At the weekly mamas weigh-in
"We've lost again", we'll all be saying.

Refrain

Once our bad habits we have banished
"Big Mama" soon will have vanished.
Ounce by ounce, and pound by pound,
A lighter mum, will soon be found.
Soon we'll reach our target weight
And we know, that will feel great.
On our new shape, and where the weight went
Friends and colleagues, all will comment.

Refrain

Hail the mamas looking slimmer
Fit and toned and so much trimmer.
All those days of self denial
Reflected on the scales dial.
Joyful all ye mamas rise
Now we are a smaller size.
For ever more we'll be more healthy,
But new clothes mean much less wealthy!

Refrain

¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸

woodpops · 03/11/2004 15:53

champs · 03/11/2004 20:38

lol brilliant lunersea

miam · 03/11/2004 20:42

Wahey Lunarsea - absolutely brill. Infact, your poetic skills have won you first prize of having the honour to write the mm poem every week!!

Demented · 04/11/2004 16:56

Fantastic Lunarsea!!! I think that makes you number one MN Mamas poet!

Hulababy · 04/11/2004 17:39

So, I gather I send in my weight loss by tomorrow, yes?

miam · 05/11/2004 07:49

Well, just a pound this week, mind you that's 8 in 2 weeks so am not complaining! It's getting harder though - kind of running out of ideas on how to make chicken/ham/eggs/cheese/lettuce interesting!!! Never mind, no pain no gain. My skin is fab by the way - an unexpected side-effect!! Only 34lbs to go..........

gothicmama · 05/11/2004 08:39
