I gave birth to my son at the end of October and, now the festive cheeseboard has been polished off, I'm feeling ready to fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes!

Goal weight is 60kgs and current weight is 64.7kgs. However, as muscle weighs considerably more than fat I know realistically I have more than 4.7kgs to lose.

Plan is to stick to a 1,700 calorie a day diet as I am breastfeeding so don't want to end up with too few calories. I will also be going to the gym 3-4x per week - I am not in the UK so feel very fortunate to be able to do this.

Creating this thread for accountability (for me) and also to see if anyone is in a similar position.

I also let loose a bit more on a Saturday and allow myself to have a few extra calories. Then it doesn’t feel like I’m depriving myself. I try and aim for 1800 calories instead and try to move about a bit more.

Weighed in this morning and I’m currently 75kg so a loss of 2.2kg! Grin obviously I know this sort of loss won’t continue, so I’ve jotted down some measurements too. Won’t upload them but might update with the changes.

Have a good week start the week all!

gmailconfusion2 · 11/01/2021 09:16

So we had takeaway yesterday (pizza) and I've gone up to 74.7kg, which is probably mainly water retention, but we were so tired cooking wasn't high on my radar. But I did pick a vegetarian spicy thin pizza rather than texas bbq!

We also did a two hour walk with me wearing baby, abdi got 9 hours sleep with three short wakeups 😁

Sairafina · 11/01/2021 23:47

That's amazing @Lupinspotato! You must be feeling really good. It's always so encouraging to get a big loss on the scales

Pizza Sundays seem to be a thing @gmailconfusion2! I'm still v.envious of your sleep! DS is so loud at night at the moment so he's sleeping but I'm not!

@sairafina I know I shouldn't complain, we're lucky really.

OK slight derailment over a few days, but back on wagon, I weighed 73.4kg this morning, we did a 2hour walk to see if aldi have the new pinch of nom book (no) and I made 10min of Hiit before nap time ended. Well work on that, see if I can make it up to 20min.

I had 2 weetabix for breakfast, 2slices of toast, a scrambled egg and half a tin of spaghetti for lunch, crisps and a satsuma as a snack and pinch of nom pasandra curry with rice and a mini naan bread from lidl. So about 1800 calories, but much but lots better than yesterday.

Lupinspotato · 14/01/2021 11:04

I haven’t been sticking to 1500 either, more like 1600-1800 but for the moment the scales are going down, so unless it stops I’m happy with that, even if it does mean slower progress.

I am getting a bit bored of calorie counting but I’m looking forward to being able to wear all of my old clothes again so using that as motivation to keep going.

Sairafina · 14/01/2021 18:33

Yes I can't wait to get into my clothes again. I am in some of my larger pre pregnancy clothes but definitely still have a couple of inches to go before I can get into the rest
I've been sticking to 1500 calories for the most part, yesterday was a bit of a slip up as DH fancied takeout and my willpower wasn't strong enough! Scales still heading down though and looking forward to seeing what the tape measure says tomorrow. Can't believe it's been 2 weeks already, the time is flying

OP posts:
Lupinspotato · 16/01/2021 09:06

Yeah, the time is really flying. I was sorting through some of my old clothes and found three pairs of trousers that I used to wear without an elasticated waist. One was too big, one fit and one was too tight pre-pregnancy so will use them as three goals to fit into.

Stuck to 1500 yesterday but will get a takeaway later so will try for damage limitation today...

Sairafina · 17/01/2021 12:16

Have had a busy few days so although I did take measurements on Friday I didn't get around to posting them 🤦🏻‍♀️

Weight 63.4kgs (down 0.9kgs)
Waist 29ins (down 1 inch)
Arms 11.5ins (same)
Hips 36.5ins (down 0.5inch)
Thighs 20.5ins (same)

Once again v.happy with that as had a few treats in the week including a kebab on Wednesday 😋 I managed to get to the gym on Tuesday, Friday and yesterday and will go this afternoon. Me and DH are taking the LO to the Marina later and will have a cocktail by the quayside to round off what has been a lovely weekend.

I've been able to get into some of my larger 'old' clothes and really hopeful by the end of the month to fit into some more!

How was your takeaway @Lupinspotato? What did you get? I like the idea of those trousers, it's like the Goldilocks of weightloss!

OP posts:
gmailconfusion2 · 18/01/2021 09:03

Well done sairafine. Hope you enjoyed your cocktail.
I went on a 8km walk yesterday with baby in the sling and I can feel it today, didn't realise how heavy she was getting!

This mornings measurements
72.9kg (- 1.4kg )
Thigh 24. 5in (-0. 5)
Hips 41
Natural waist 30.25 (-1.75)
Belly button 38 (-3)

Lupinspotato · 18/01/2021 13:49

Well done both! That’s a great loss.

Sairafina, your cocktail by the marina sounds amazing. I hope you enjoyed it!

We had Mexican food from a local restaurant at the weekend which was fantastic but probably over ordered. We will definitely order from there again but I’ll order less and one of the healthier options next time. Only lost 0.2kg this week probably due to salty food choices over the weekend and eating more than I have been.

I forgot to take measurements last week but have them now

Weight: 74.8kg (-0.2 kg)
Waist: 86cm
Hips: 108cm
Arms: 33cm
Thighs: 66cm

gmailconfusion2 · 19/01/2021 19:55

Been missing eating nandos (left of from husband being a student and all he could afford) so made fake nandos today, with a long walk carrying baby and an exercise video.

Realised i've started feeling like me again finally between all of the chiro, physio, doctors and the starting to exercise again!

Sairafina · 20/01/2021 12:37

Wow those numbers are incredible!! It's amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it!

I adore Nandos! There aren't any where I live so we often make a fake nandos as can buy the sauces in the supermarket. My go to is extra hot wings with macho peas, chips, halloumi and corn on the cob. Haven't had it for ages though - might have to squeeze one into the macros next week now 😂 what did you make?

Mexican food is so good, we had 'Taco Tuesday' yesterday although I made fajitas rather than tacos! It is slightly depressing counting the tortilla chips but worth it to get back in my clothes!

Yes 100%, I'm starting to feel more like me too. Being able to move much more freely without lugging all that extra weight around. The supermarket had chocolate protein powder back in stock (have only had strawberry up until now) so really looking forward to a chocolate/banana/peanut butter shake later. I went back on birth control yesterday so hoping I don't gain any from that although I didn't the last time I was on it so can't really use it as an excuse!

OP posts:
gmailconfusion2 · 20/01/2021 13:20

My go to is medium chicken wrap with cheese and pineapple, chips (feel your pain on counting out the chips to fit in calories) and corn on the cob. DH has butterfly chicken hot.

I elected the coil, between the joint problems and HG I really don't want another, but the bonus is no hormones.

I may have stopped by the bakery on the way to lidl to return mouldy easy peelers from two days ago, for a chicken Tikka wrap and a cream bun, so gonna do a walking video later

Lupinspotato · 21/01/2021 16:45

Ooh I also love Nando’s. Usually share a platter and I love the peri fries. Might have to do our own version next week too!

I also want a coil at some point. Covid has closed all the clinics near me so won’t be getting one soon. I definitely don’t want another baby either. Pregnancy, birth and the recovery were all horrific and not risking it again. I was young, fit and healthy before but don’t feel that’s the case anymore... I think that’s extra motivation for me to lose the baby weight because I know I won’t be doing it again so it should hopefully stay off.

gmailconfusion2 · 21/01/2021 17:27

Between hypermesis, spd, and someone sitting on my sciatic nerve, three epidurals and a spinal block, I'm with you! I asked for the coil at my eight week check and was surprised they agreed straight off, but it was a doctor there that did it. I've literally spent the last six months trying to get everything back to stable, I know breast feeding doesn't help but collapsing as I'm walking along really isn't a good thing.

The weight loss is hopefully going to be easier as the pain reduces and my foot works 😂

My mother keeps telling me I'll change my mind and it annoys me as we were living at hers for three months and I had to have my own toilet it was that bad and they had bets on how long between eating and me being sick!

DH won some money so pizza tonight. I've done a fitness video and walked 5km so hopefully won't be too over!

Sairafina · 22/01/2021 12:35

Blimey ladies, I'm so sorry you both had such traumatic births. Was it the first one for each of you?

I use the arm implant, I have a juicy bruise and it's still quite tender but should heal up by the weekend.

It's another week of loss for me 😄

Weight - 62.8kgs (down 0.6kgs)
Waist 29ins (same)
Arms 11.5ins (same)
Hips 36ins (down 0.5inch)
Thighs 20ins (down 1 inch!)

Have been slack with the gym this week, haven't actually been since Sunday 🙈 will be able to go for the next three days to make up for it although can't really do much weight lifting until my arm feels better so will smash the cardio instead.

OP posts:
Lupinspotato · 26/01/2021 13:18

Yeah, it was my first. I didn’t have an epidural but did have the spinal block which initially was the best bit because my midwife took away and refused pain relief during the pushing for some reason!

Well done on the loss again Sairafina and hope your arm is feeling better soon! Even if you didn’t make it to the gym sounds like it’s all going well anyway.

Small loss here but all in the right direction so I’m pleased:
Weight: 74.4kg (-0.4 kg)
Waist: 86cm (same)
Hips: 107cm (-1cm)
Arms: 32cm (-1cm)
Thighs: 64cm (-2cm)

gmailconfusion2 · 26/01/2021 14:01

This week's
72.2kg (-2.2kg)
Hips 40.25 (-0.75)
Thigh 24.25(-0.75)
Waist 30.25 (-0.75)
Belly button 36.5 (-4inches!)

Sairafina · 29/01/2021 12:10

Well done ladies! It really is encouraging when the numbers decrease so drastically

Here's mine for the week
Weight 62kgs (down 0.8kgs)
Waist 29ins (same)
Arms 11.5ins (same)
Hips 35.5ins (down 0.5inch)
Thighs 20ins (same)

Not so drastic but only 2kgs from my goal weight which now seems tantalisingly in reach. More clothes are starting to fit as well which is nice

Hope you both had a good week

OP posts:
Lupinspotato · 04/02/2021 17:57

Oh wow! That’s fantastic both! Being so close must be such a good motivation to keep on going!

I don’t have measurements to report, mainly as I can’t find the tape measure but weight is down to 73.3kg (-1.1kg).

gmailconfusion2 · 04/02/2021 19:17

I have binged the last to days... Don't think I'll still be 71.8 Monday... On the other hand I must have burnt a fair number of calories walking my pram back on two wheels after getting a puncture 3miles into a 6mile walk

Tier500 · 04/02/2021 19:51

Can I join? Baby is 12 weeks and I’m 10kg up - 70kg and want to be back at 60kg. This is baby 2 and I actually haven’t been 60kg since before baby 1! My pre-pregnancy weight this time was 64kg but determined to lose it all now!

Sairafina · 08/02/2021 12:23

I was down to 61.5kg on Friday but we've had quite the weekend of eating so I'm back up to 62kgs today! There was sooo much meat involved so going to try and have a veggie start to the week to reset.

That sounds v.frustrating with your pram @gmailconfusion2 was that the new one your had bought?

Amazing work @Lupinspotato! How much to go until you are at your goal weight?

Welcome @Tier500 and congrats on your LO. Determination is key!

Meal plan for today is
Protein shake with oats, banana and peanut butter
Rice cake
Carrot and coriander soup with a crumpet
Pepper sticks with hummous
Veggie pasta bake with broccoli, courgette, red onion and peas

OP posts:
gmailconfusion2 · 08/02/2021 12:28

@sairafina that's makes me feel better I'm at 72.5 today.

Back on track today, she didn't wake up 8 times last night so that helped. Yup new pram, but the replacement tyre arrived today so will sort that out. Not that I want to walk in five inches of snow.

Just waiting for her to nap so I can go to the shops
