Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

I use my fitness pal to log, and weigh in every Tuesday and Wednesday. For some reason I always seem 1lb or 2lb heavier on Tuesday! Probably water weight from eating a bit more on the weekend.

SistemaAddict · 18/07/2020 15:55

I am so bloated today that I have an extra spare tyre 😩

SistemaAddict · 19/07/2020 00:11

I'm up late tonight as watched tv which was frequently interrupted by the dc. I don't get to watch tv often but enjoy a good detective drama once the dc are in bed. My stomach is making so much noise! Proper growls and bubbling really loudly.
I made bread today and lentil soup. The dc cut great doorstops out of it and I was very envious with my thinly cut slice I love homemade bread so much. Thickly sliced and toasted with proper butter. That will be my morning treat I think.

Don't they say (whoever 'they' are) that it's the calories over the week rather than the day that are important? You need a deficit of 3500 to lose one pound. So 500 calories a day. But surely if you vary a little but still have a weekly deficit of 3500 then the outcome would be the same? Part of the slow and steady ethos.

Youngatheart00 · 19/07/2020 09:24

Weighed myself this morning and I’m up 2lb 😫 (and yes I had used the loo before weighing!!!)

Just not taking the calories deficit part of this seriously enough. I’m definitely fitter but it’s not doing anything for my weight.

SistemaAddict · 19/07/2020 10:04

@Youngatheart00 that sucks Sad it must be fluid retention surely?

I need to find some laxatives. The fybogel isn't doing much good Blush Did you read that thread about the woman who was really bloated and thought she was getting fat and hadn't been for a poo for 3 weeks? She took some laxatives and lost 7lbs or something 😂 literally full of shit!

Youngatheart00 · 19/07/2020 13:13

@Bercows it could be. I don’t feel like I’ve eaten enough bad stuff to have counteracted running 10 miles this week!

Oh god, I couldn’t imagine being that constipated. Not sure if you like it but fruity malt loaf always seems to work for me, that and a strong coffee in the morning. Do you drink enough warm drinks?

SistemaAddict · 19/07/2020 13:41

I have 2-3 cups of tea a day. It's only since cutting right down on food that I've had issues. It will re-regulate itself I'm sure.

UnicornAndSparkles · 19/07/2020 15:28

AF arrived today, like clockwork. Meaning I'm craving all the chocolate and have already eaten a mini cadburys bar and a rocky, totalling an impressive 230 cals. Ugh Sad

SistemaAddict · 19/07/2020 20:39

I used to be able to predict AF by my craving for jam doughnuts! Thank goodness that passed. I get very, very tired the week before and my legs ache terribly like I have the flu whenever I walk upstairs. I get hungry too but it's much better than it used to be. My cycle isn't regular anymore and pmt seems to last 2 weeks these days. I think I'd rather crave doughnuts. Chocolate is definitely necessary for AF so don't be hard on yourself.
I am so bloated. Lentils and fybogel will do that I guess but needs must!

I am in a similar boat

I know I feel better if I eat healthily
I know I feel better if I have nice hair
I know I feel better if my nails are done
I know I feel better if I exercise

So why am I sitting with shite nails contemplating a fried egg sandwich for breakfast ?

I have lost count of how many of these threads I have joined, I need to change but keep getting lost.

I am about to start wk4 of couch to 5k so because I have stuck to that I am going to now try to tackle the weight. I have 3 1/2 stone at least to lose so it is going to take bloody ages but I need to start somewhere.

SistemaAddict · 20/07/2020 08:32

@Twilbury that's amazing that you are on week 4 of couch to 5k! That's a great achievement. I can't run for toffee. Welcome to the thread Smile

I'm 652kg this morning.

Twilbury · 20/07/2020 09:52

Thank you for the welcome @Bercows

I have got a busy day today which will help keep me away from the crisps hopefully.
Have been for my run(plod)
Lots of boring housework to do and I am going to get meal planning as well so I make better choices this week.

I have an assignment to prepare for as well and I might even paint my nails.

What do people feel about missing breakfast? I find if I have breakfast I am more hungry not less by lunchtime. I might skip it and leave eating until 12 ish.

SistemaAddict · 20/07/2020 10:44

Skipping breakfast is bad in my book. I feel so ill if I miss breakfast.

wowfudge · 20/07/2020 11:50

I never used to eat breakfast - a habit picked up from doing the blood sugar diet as it made it easier having two meals a day but restricting the calories. Since starting with the gym I go to I have eaten breakfast every day and lost more weight - I do weights workouts 3 or 4 times a week too. I'm eating more calories than I have for a long time.

mrsswayze · 20/07/2020 13:22

-4 this week just from cutting all the snacking out. I've been sticking to meal planning all 3 meals a day. Not been easy as I'm a big snacker

Twilbury · 20/07/2020 13:42

@mrsswayze How have you stopped the snacking? That is definitely my downfall. Our meals are healthy but I do drink and I snack too much and I know that is where I go wrong.

mrsswayze · 20/07/2020 13:53

Twirlberry with great difficulty it's not something I'll be able to maintain I do t think but trying my best . I've been going to bed very early to avoid eating!

Twilbury · 20/07/2020 14:19

@mrsswayze I guess the 4 pounds off has to help too Grin

SistemaAddict · 20/07/2020 15:16

AF must be on its way as I'm irritable and my thighs and back are aching dreadfully.

SistemaAddict · 20/07/2020 16:35

And I want chip butties!

SistemaAddict · 21/07/2020 09:19

Forgive me lord for my sins: I ate chip butties and went over my allowance by 400 calories.

Twilbury · 21/07/2020 10:22

I bet they were good Grin

And I think 400 cals over and eating chip butties sounds a result to me.

I have so much to do today and am sitting listening to podcasts in my pyjamas .

Maybe I will make a start by making a list.

SistemaAddict · 21/07/2020 11:18

They were pretty good Smile I am still 65.? So that's ok. I've discovered a big box of cosmocol that was dds from years ago but is still in date. If I could go to the loo I'm sure I'd lose 2 lbs!

The fridge is being fixed on Thursday and therefore I will be able to make healthier meals. We are limited at the moment with having no chilled things.

We are planning a family walk today. I've not been doing any exercise at all and really need to get back to it. I mowed the lawn yesterday and have been cleaning carpets so not exactly sat on my bum all day but still, I need proper exercise.

overweightcat · 21/07/2020 11:57

Seriously lacking energy Sad

Up until now I've been up in the morning exercising before DCs got up but this past week or so I'm just achey and very groggy and can't seem to get myself out of bed - am I missing something in my diet? Has anyone experienced this?

Weight still hovering just under 65kg, I'm looking rather bloated though but hoping that's just imminent AF. Had lemon and herb chicken breast, couscous and peas for lunch. Just had a coffee and a fibre chocolate brownie bar thing.
Need to motivate myself to put the weekly shopping away but um procrastinating on here at the moment.
